QUOTES THAT INSPIRE GROWTH AND CHANGE

I may no longer depend on pleasant impulses to bring me before the Lord. I must rather respond to principles I know to be right, whether I feel them to be enjoyable or not.

Quote By: -- Jim Elliot

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac 4-Him- Glowing His Glory-Always-4Ever!*

Emotions! AWE-GOD! I know You created them! I know Jesus had them, so I presume that they are a huge part of Who You are. Help me to use my emotions for Your good, to control them by Your power in me. I don't want to be led by them. A lot of times I am and it doesn't end pretty. I want to be led by You, Jesus! So be it today!

QUOTES THAT INSPIRE GROWTH AND CHANGE

Satan gives Adam an apple (fruit), and takes away Paradise. Therefore in all temptations let us consider not what he offers, but we shall lose. Quote By: Richard Sibbes

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac 4-Him- Glowing His Glory-Always-4Ever!*

I love this quote! It speaks some very real wisdom to my heart. I love how the author flip-flops temptation and shows us the real side of temptation, the side we need to think of first, the consequences!! Whatever the enemy offers us may be pleasureable, may be what we think we truly want, but the consequences always constitute a loss! So true! We never think of it this way! I love this truth!

God Used A Member Of His AWE-Some Family To Encourage Me Today In Him!

Debra Sherlin sent me this! It is so cool how God uses His family, The Bride Of Christ to encourage each other, to share His thoughts, to love each other. This was sent to me in an email and little did Deb know that I had been praying all weekend long about a commitment God had asked me to make. I am a seasoned servant in God's Kingdom and I don't take my commitments to God lightly. I make every commitment very cautiously and usually while I am up looking up in God's face, sitting in His lap. Every day to me is a commitment to God, it starts that way for me. Anyway, when God asks me to commit to His purposes, it is pretty much way, way over my head, so I usually am making a direct commitment of my life to God, for Him to use me as His hands, His feet and His voice. I was once again challenged this past week by God to commit to using the Kingdom Trades He has given me and to learn some new ones in order to do something new with Him. I was humbled, overwhelmed and not sure I could rise up to this challenge (which is a good thing LOL)! God and I have had a lot of conversations about this challenge since that night! I was sure right away, that I was the person for this challenge, but I had to work out the costs to my flesh, which is really a silly thing that God allowed me to do. Thank you Lord, I needed that! But today, my focus was really stripped off myself and put back to the challenge and the CHALLENGER, JESUS CHRIST. Jesus, I am taking Your Right Hand and I am DIVING IN!

Sue Cramer Tired of Bickering with your spouse? http://praiseandcoffee.blogspot.com/2009/05/tired-of-bickering.html

Thank you Sue! That was so full of wisdom. I also find that I need to anticipate that during those times of huge decisions; the enemy will set my husband and I up to be upset. Emotional Whirlwinds I call them. Thoughts that spin and spin and if you step into them, your emotions will be tossed to and fro and it will not be pretty! I went through that this weekend. We were trying to decide a big decision and the whirlwinds began in my mind, the enemy setting me up. I stood on the outside of it, getting pushed around by the wind and could feel my emotions becoming so negative. But, Thankfully, I made the right choice this time and I stepped aside, gathered my God-thoughts and clung hard to my life-promises and waited for the whirlwind to wind down, and it usually does. Our enemy does not have enough energy to keep up a whirlwind and they usually spin out and when they do, you find you are still standing on Holy Ground!

Thanks Sue for your call to undergird all our marriages in God's great wisdom! God Bless You much!

Jeremiah 1:7-8

God told me, "Don't say, 'I'm only a boy.' I'll tell you where to go and you'll go there.

I'll tell you what to say and you'll say it. Don't be afraid of a soul. I'll be right there, looking after you." God's Decree.

The Overshadowing Of God's Personal Deliverance

Excerpt:

"Wherever God Sends Us, He Will Guard Our Lives. Our personal property and possessions are to be a matter of indifference to us, and our hold on these things should be very loose. If this is not the case, we will have panic, heartache, and distress. Having the proper outlook is evidence of the deeply rooted belief in the overshadowing of God's personal deliverance."

"In essence, Jesus says, "continue steadily on with what I have told you to do, and I will guard your life."

"We put common sense on the throne and then attach God's name to it. We do lean to our own understanding, instead of trusting God with all our hearts (see Proverbs 3:5-6)"

My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac-Glowing In His Glory! Always-4Ever!

A lot of times I do follow my common sense first instead of going to God first. That scripture in Isaiah burns in my heart at times and I hear it: I am doing something new! Will you not know it! I realize I need to live deeper than the surface and my common sense is not as deep as God's Wisdom – God's Fresh Revelation. AWE-GOD! He is guarding my life in new and creative ways that I want to know of. I can tell when I am deeply rooted to this world, because anxiety overtakes me. It is then in the midst of my personal anxiety, I have to stop, I have to let go of my common sense, I have to let go of what I see with my natural eyes, I have to let go of my earthly expectations and cling harder to God, looking to Him to show me the root that is putting pressure on my heart and causing me physical anxiety. Then I need to yank that root out and plant a new seed of truth in Kingdom soil. I need to be deeply rooted in Kingdom soil, not here where the circle of life will die and nothing of eternal significance will remain. I need to remember my heritage, my future and my huge hope! Jeremiah 29:11 Psalm 86:11 Psalm 62:5

Praying This For Our Military Warriors Today!

1 Peter 1: 2 1 Peter 1

1-2I, Peter, am an apostle on assignment by Jesus, the Messiah, writing to exiles scattered to the four winds. Not one is missing, not one forgotten. God the Father has his eye on each of you, and has determined by the work of the Spirit to keep you obedient through the sacrifice of Jesus. May everything good from God be yours!

A New Life 3-5What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you'll have it all—life healed and whole. 6-7I know how great this makes you feel, even though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation in the meantime. Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it's your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.

Quote Wisdom For Christian Living!

Look at the candle. What is it used for? It is not for giving light? If it is to give light, it must burn and make itself less and less. But if the candle were to protest and say, "I will not burn an become less and less; I cannot suffer hurt, neither can my form be changed," then what would be its value? In the same way, those who determine not to put self to death will never see the will of God fulfilled in their lives. Those who ought to become the light of the world must necessarily burn and become less and less. By dening self, we are able to win others.

Excerpts From: Elmer L. Towns "365 Ways To Know God"

Job 9:32-35

"God and I are not equals; I can't bring a case against him. We'll never enter a courtroom as peers. How I wish we had an arbitrator to step in and let me get on with life—To break God's death grip on me, to free me from this terror so I could breathe again. Then I'd speak up and state my case boldly. As things stand, there is no way I can do it."

JESUS:THE DAYSMAN BETWEEN US!

"Job was looking for a daysman to be a neutral arbitrator between God and him. A daysman is an umpire, an advocate or an impartial judge."

"Jesus is the Daysman who stand equal with the Father and yet stands for Job. Jesus is our Daysman who takes our case and pleads it to the Father."

"Jesus thank you for being my arbitrator with the Father God."

KEY THOUGHT:

Jesus is the neutral Umpire who gets the heavenly Father to accept us.

Galatians 1:12 (NLT) I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.

Exhortation- The Shepherd's Communicated Love-Wisdom!

Today, your Life In Christ Jesus Can Be The Greatest Story Ever Told. Our enemy prowls around seeing who he can tempt, whose day he can discourage, whom he can set up to get upset, whose peace he can rob and whose life he can destroy. he sets us up to be upset! he puts his rotten apple-cart right into our path and we stumble into it as we are running our God-appointed race with our Champion Christ! Ouch, it hurts! This applecart divisively placed for us to suddenly stumble over, completely interrupts our pace! It makes us so mad! I guess at this point, we can choose to stand there in shock, disbelief and disappointment and begin a huge a pity-party, biting into a rotten apple or we can choose in the Name, Power and Might of Jesus Christ, to pick ourselves back up, dust ourselves off and boldly with great courage in Christ, upset that rotten apple-cart that was divisively set before us, to get us upset and knock us off our appointed path! We can choose not to be set up to get upset! We can choose to stay on our appointed course!

If our plans get upset and we realize we have been set up by the enemy, choice by choice we can cling tighter to the Mighty Right Hand of Jesus, taking two steps backward, glance at our heavenly hindsight and then one giant leap of faith and hurdle that rotten apple-cart! Once we get over it, we can adjust our attitude and reset our pace with our Champion pacesetter; fully focused on Jesus, following His lead back to running our appointed course!

The attitude of a Champion In Christ Jesus is refreshed and renewed through praise! Shout out the praise of Jesus Christ, whether our pace is right on, or we have to work harder to catch our original pace! We will praise Him!

I will praise Him! Today, I choose to upset the rotten apple-cart of my enemy, to not be set up to be upset, but to therefore, set my pace with the greatest Champion ever known, Jesus Christ. I purpose to lay my life out on my appointed course today and whatever happens, I will praise Him! No matter how many rotten apple-carts Jesus has to help me hurdle, I will continue to lay my life out -all of it!

I will lay myself completely out on my appointed harvest field, this day for Jesus Christ, My Champion! I am determined to dedicate my life to Jesus today and write my story with His pen. I will not let the enemy have the final say on my appointed course! No way! I am determined that my story on my appointed course will be the greatest story ever told today. Choice by choice, I am determined not to be divisively set up to be upset, but to make an attitude-adjustment and choose to pick up the pace, staying in Holy Alignment with Jesus! So Be It! Sovereign Almighty God! AWE-SOVEREING GOD! AWE-INFINITE LOVE! Jesus!

Children’s Ministry…Eternally So!

Being His In Children's Ministry

=Making A Difference-

ETERNALLY…So!

Written by: The Holy Spirit

Prayed-Penned by Kimberlymac

John 17 Jesus Prays for Himself

1 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed. He said, "Father, the time has come. Bring glory to your Son. Then your Son will bring glory to you. 2 You gave him authority over all people. He gives eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 "And what is eternal life? It is knowing you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth. I have finished the work you gave me to do. 5 So now, Father, give glory to me in heaven where your throne is. Give me the glory I had with you before the world began. Jesus Prays for His Disciples 6 "I have shown you to the disciples you gave me out of the world. They were yours. You gave them to me. And they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 I gave them the words you gave me. And they accepted them. They knew for certain that I came from you. They believed that you sent me.

"I pray for them. I am not praying for the world. I am praying for those you have given me, because they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. Glory has come to me because of my disciples.

New International Reader's Version (NIRV) Copyright © 1996, 1998 by International Bible Society

I read this verse this morning and thought of it in the light of ministering to, caring for children. I believe it speaks great Godly relevance to all those who serve God in the ministry of children, in times such as these. Jesus tells us to give children the Words He has given us and to pray for them! He asks us to hope huge that they believe Who Jesus is, and desire deeply for them to come to know Him personally! Daily so many of us cry out to God, The Father, that the children He has put in our life-path will accept Him and believe His Words! (You don't have to be in children's ministry in a church to be in children's ministry! Open your eyes and look around you. There are children all around you that need to know Jesus, to hear His Transforming Words of Life and be impacted by your "Shout Out" of His Faith in action!)

I heard the Holy Spirit very clearly as I read this verse above and I saw the heart of God in a different light as He shined it for children and the hope He has that we diligently pray for them to grow in Christ, desiring His wisdom to be awakened and come to life in their hearts! Life is hard on children in times such as these, but God is pure goodness! When we "Talk Up" the way, the truth and the life of Jesus Christ, we are equipping a child with what they need to make the right decisions, choice by choice empowering them with the way to obey His Word. When we "Pray It Up" for the children around us, then God will give them, by His Holy Spirit, the power to choose what is right for them, to chose life instead of dead ends.

The coolest thing that jumped out at my spirit this morning about this verse, really just lifts the burden off our shoulders when it comes to caring for children, (whom many are daily living through and suffering with the huge consequences of the wrong choices of the adults responsible for them) is this:

These children, they belong to God Almighty, and even more so, the ministry unto them is His: His Love, His favor, His anointing, His wisdom, His creativity and all the strength, the power, the tools of our Kingdom Trade…. It all belongs to Jesus.

Our accountability is not immediately to the children themselves, but our personal actions must be first to the responsibility of tapping into the nutriment stream of our Father God, where we receive His might, wisdom, love, favor, strength, provision and power to care for the children He has "purposely put" into our life-path. (There is a heavenly hindsight waiting to be played out in their lives and you are the one to direct their focus unto Jesus, the One Who will enlighten their darkened minds with truth and give them a Bright Future And Hope!)

There is Kingdom purpose in every situation you divinely encounter with all children under heaven, as it is seen on earth. Be aware of those children around you today and may your divine appointment with them be glorious!

As I read John 17 today and the Lord simply spoke to my heart, I was engulfed with His heart of passion, it saturated my soul and stimulated my spirit as I simultaneously realized the fullness of God's truth that these children and this children's ministry is in very capable hands and should not be carried in any way by me, it is not necessary! Our God is Mighty to Save! Through this powerful revelation, I have gleamed that my Father God has asked me to believe in Him completely and confidently-boldly share His Word that never returns void! It is His desire that I hope huge in the heart of the gospel, His spoken Word that always, in His perfect timing through destined Kingdom purpose, brings about change of ownership, citizenship and destiny for all children under the "shout out" of its Powerful Voice!

We all hurt for the children suffering aimlessly all around us; they are not being nurtured in the way that God had hoped when He placed them as disciples in the care of their parents. (sin happens… because we live in a fallen country that is pushing God out of the center of it and the consequential burden is great upon the innocence, safety and vulnerability of the children of this land… warfare happens) The best thing we can do for children is to first "be found" in a vital, personal relationship with Jesus Christ; a relationship that "Talks Up" His life!

When we are united with The Triune God, connecting spirit-to-spirit, every day in every way possible to us, our lives can and will reflect a hope huge, a bold confidence,

a "Shout Out":

"I believe in Jesus Christ for these children He has put in my life path, they belong to the Father God! He is working in the unseen for their good! They have an amazing future and hope! Their Father God, He is simply enough for them!"

Yes I do understand the burden when you care about children in a time such as this! I have cried many of tears, as the empathy of God is heavy upon me in intercession, but the Yoke of ministry is light when it belongs to Jesus Christ and I know He cries with me and He also significantly saves every single tear shed for His children!

Every child He has put in your life path through His Shepherding heart of compassion, they are His not yours and He is able to care for them in ways we can't even begin to fathom, imagine or hope for.

Therefore in Light of the above revelation, I choose to Believe in Jesus, and pray-hope-huge! (brbJ, at this point I have to stop and bow my heart humbly before God in awe of WHO HE IS! I take my hands off of His children's ministry, releasing the burden I am carrying and yoke myself to Jesus. Not my will but Yours be done, not my way but Your way be done, not my plan but Your future be done. These children are Yours.) Today, right now, I choose an impacting faith that is unburdened by doubt, confident in belief and standing in the shadow of His Grace with a HUGE HOPE in The Father God and His ability to transform lives! The heart of His Gospel is change! He can! He will! The best is yet to come in the lives of the children God has put in our path! Watch, believe He is working in the unseen for their good and see His glory! Heavenly Hindsight is on the way! Trust!

  • Remember: The best thing you can "do" in children's ministry is to "be"! Be connected to Jesus, spirit-to-spirit and hear His Heart intent, receive His passion and do and say everything unto Him. Eat His Word! Be nourished moment to moment in His hope and promise!
  • Remember: Position Yourself In His Grace! He is the power to change the heart, mind and destiny of His children. Tap into His life and be His, therefore you do not carry His children upon your back, you walk unencumbered knowing that what you do unto Jesus will be seeded into each child from life unto life as God works in the unseen for their good.
  • Remember: Everything matters! Do not grow weary because of what is seen, be strong in the hope of truth and endure with bold confidence! Stand in the promise of the Almighty God, Whom these children belong to!

Now, may I take a few more moments of your time? I ask you to listen with your spirit to the passion that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has for His children and release any burden you are carrying for them. Yoke yourself to His passionate heart. Know His Heart, Know His Mind and you will know a burden for children that impassions your soul with a huge hope, yokes you to a confident belief that their Masterful, Father God is working in the unseen for their good! Let everything you do for His children, be because You are being His and acting, talking up and shouting out His life unto Him!

Loving Children, Teaching Children And Caring For Children - As You Are Being His First, It Matters Significantly…

Eternally So!

John 17:11-26

"I will not remain in the world any longer. But they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name. It is the name you gave me. Keep them safe so they can be one, just as you and I are one.

12 "While I was with them, I guarded them. I kept them safe through the name you gave me. None of them has been lost, except the one who was sentenced to be destroyed. It happened so that Scripture would come true.

13 "I am coming to you now. But I say these things while I am still in the world. I say them so that those you gave me can have all my joy inside them. 14 I have given them your word. The world has hated them. This is because they are not part of the world any more than I am. 15 I do not pray that you will take them out of the world. I pray that you will keep them safe from the evil one.

16 "They do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to it. 17 Use the truth to make them holy. Your word is truth. 18 You sent me into the world. In the same way, I have sent them into the world. 19 I make myself holy for them so that they too can be made holy in a true sense.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 "I do not pray only for them. I pray also for those who will believe in me because of their message. 21 Father, I pray that all of them will be one, just as you are in me and I am in you. I want them also to be in us. Then the world will believe that you have sent me.

22 "I have given them the glory you gave me. I did this so they would be one, just as we are one. 23 I will be in them, just as you are in me. I want them to be brought together perfectly as one. This will let the world know that you sent me. It will also show the world that you have loved those you gave me, just as you have loved me.

24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am. I want them to see my glory, the glory you have given me. You gave it to me because you loved me before the world was created.

25 "Father, you are holy. The world does not know you, but I know you. Those you have given me know you have sent me. 26 I have shown you to them. And I will continue to show you to them. Then the love you have for me will be in them. I myself will be in them."

Military Families Perusing The Psalms For: Psalm 4

Psalm 4:1-8

For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments.

Answer me when I call to you, O God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer. 2 How long will you people ruin my reputation? How long will you make groundless accusations? How long will you continue your lies? Interlude 3 You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him. 4 Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude 5 Offer sacrifices in the right spirit, and trust the Lord. 6 Many people say, "Who will show us better times?" Let your face smile on us, Lord. 7 You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. 8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

P-Purpose-Truth

As a person in the military or in a military family or a friend of someone in the military, what truth, what purpose of God do I see in this Psalm for me and my military warrior?

  • I like verse 6 the best!
  • 6 Many people say, "Who will show us better times?" Let your face smile on us, Lord.
  • God's purpose for us is to be in His Presence and when we are in fellowship with God, these are our best times!
  • No matter what is going on in our lives, we know that in Him there are better times and in Him the best of times are yet to come.

P-Promise

What is God promising my military family/friend in this Psalm? What promise can I hold on to this week?

  • Verse 8 is definitely the promise that I pick for our family!
  • In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
  • This is an amazing promise for us in military families it helps settles our minds in God's peace as we live out being separated from each other while knowing that our loved ones are in constant danger!
  • It promises us God's peace, a peace in His Presence that gives us the kind of rest that surpasses our stressful situations as we believe in His Sovereignty, receive His Infinite love and accept His ability to keep us safe and work out our situations for good!
  • Jesus gives us the best kind of rest, where we can trust Him with our tomorrow and not have to figure it all out! Sweet sleep! No matter what we are going through, He promises us peace, a peace that is powerful enough to help us lay down and sleep even though things are unsettled with our warrior who is so far away!

P-Praise

What does God show me in this psalm about praising Him?

  • Verse three really stood out to me!
  • You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him.
  • I see the faithfulness of God in this verse! I praise God for His faithfulness to us!
  • I praise Father God for the Mercy He extended that led to an amazing sacrifice of Jesus. What A Sacrifice that gave us a Common Denominator, The Presence Of God to help us during our deployments.
  • Oh! I praise our Triune God for His faithfulness to us; faithfulness that is always accompanied by His trustworthiness to do what is right for me, my warrior and this family as we sacrifice for the good of this country!

P-Prayer

What verse can I use as a prayer for my military family/friend this week?

  • VS 1 For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments. Answer me when I call to you, O God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
  • Oh What A Sacrifice! Being separated is so hard. I pray Lord that you will hear us when we pray to you. Free us from the troubles, stresses and trials that our deployment sacrifice brings to us and have mercy upon us Lord God!
  • Lord, I pray that you would speak to our hearts the truth that You are able, You can and Your mercy will keep us and bless us during this time of deployment.
  • Lord Jesus protect my warrior today, may Your mercy accompany, walk hand in hand with the sacrifice my warrior makes to protect and defend the liberty of this country.

P-BE….Just Do it

As a part or head of a military family, which verse helps me to be better, to act better, to trust God the best this week? Which verse can I use to shape my attitude about our sacrifices?

  • These verses 4 -5, really convict me and help shape my attitudes during the hard times of trying to stay in communication with each other.
  • Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. 5 Offer sacrifices in the right spirit, and trust the Lord.
  • As a military person or a military family we can have a lot of frustration to deal with as we try to work out our relationships and our lives that are separated by continents at times!
  • If we trust God, if we learn to turn things over to His care then we will have good attitudes, we won't be striving so hard in our own strength, that will in the end fail us, but we will be found in God's strength that will cover our weaknesses by His mercy and help us to grow through our deployments with strong relationships and a unity that God is the common denominator of!
  • This Psalm really supports the promise that the Lord is with us during these hard times of sacrifice. His Mercy shows that He understands our needs during deployments and He will provide for us His everything in our all!

Sacrifice, God’s Love Language!

"Have I ever yielded myself in absolute submission to Jesus Christ? If He is not the One to whom I am looking for direction and guidance then there is no benefit in my sacrifice."

Quote By: Oswald Chambers

John 15:11-15

"I've told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I'm no longer calling you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I've named you friends because I've let you in on everything I've heard from the Father.

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac-Glowing In His Glory! Always-4Ever! Glow It!*

I realized this morning after reading John 15:13-15, that the Love Language of Father God, The Champion that we pattern our lives after, His Love Language is Sacrifice!

As Champions, we make a lot of sacrifices, to become and stay the best that we can be. But do we make these sacrifices unto our Father God? Are we focused on Jesus Christ? Do we as His Champions have and persevere in the "Godly Virtues" that He finished His race with? I strongly encourage you to take some time these next few weeks and sit with Jesus and learn about Godly Virtue! I have written an exhortation, penned by The Holy Spirit for all Champions In Christ called "Godly Virtue"! It is posted at my website: www.thebridegroomscafe.com you will find it at The Servant Table. Meet Jesus there and learn about the Godly Virtue that will make You an amazing Champion In Christ Jesus, Who sacrifices with joy unto The Father God!

Hebrews 12:1-3

Discipline in a Long-Distance Race

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

"Our friendship with Jesus based on the new life He created in us, which has no resemblance or attraction to our old life, but only to the life of God. It is a life that is completely humble, pure and devoted to God." Quote By: Oswald Chambers

Military Families Perusing The Psalms For: Psalm 3

Psalm 3 A Morning Prayer

David sang this when he ran away from his son Absalom.1 Lord, I have many enemies! Many people have turned against me. 2 Many are saying about me, "God won't rescue him." Selah 3 But, Lord, you are my shield, my wonderful God who gives me courage.

4 I will pray to the Lord, and he will answer me from his holy mountain. Selah 5 I can lie down and go to sleep, and I will wake up again, because the Lord gives me strength. 6 Thousands of troops may surround me, but I am not afraid. 7 Lord, rise up! My God, come save me! You have struck my enemies on the cheek; you have broken the teeth of the wicked. 8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

P-Purpose-Truth

As a person in the military or in a military family or a friend of someone in the military, what truth, what purpose of God do I see in this Psalm for me and my military warrior?

8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

This verse really strengthens my courage in huge hope and helps me to believe in God's Hand upon my warrior!

P-Promise

What is God promising my military family/friend in this Psalm? What promise can I hold on to this week?

3 But, Lord, you are my shield, my wonderful God who gives me courage.

4 I will pray to the Lord, and he will answer me from his holy mountain. Selah 5 I can lie down and go to sleep, and I will wake up again, because the Lord gives me strength.

He promises my warrior, courage a strong courage that lets him lay down in peace and wake up in strength!

It is the same concept for me as I lay down to sleep at night, I can take courage in knowing that the Lord will answer my prayer for my warrior, that the Lord will give my warrior strength.

He promises me, peaceful sleep! I can lay down in complete rest of mind, heart and soul, putting my warrior in God's capable hands because of the COURAGE I have in Christ!

P-Praise

What does God show me in this psalm about praising Him?

David sang this when he ran away from his son Absalom.1 Lord, I have many enemies! Many people have turned against me. 2 Many are saying about me, "God won't rescue him." Selah 3 But, Lord, you are my shield, my wonderful God who gives me courage.

David was in the worst of circumstances, yet he praised God and in this heart of praise, He found courage to face the situation where his enemy was trying to kill him.

David knew that the Lord was his shield, and it was out of this heart knowledge, He praised God.

I praise You Lord God for the courage you give me as I know deep inside of me that You shields my heart with Your courage!

I know my warrior faces danger each day and it makes my soul shiver within me. I praise you God! Mighty God! Protector, Provider! I praise You and thank you for Who You are and how it inspires my heart to face each day with courage, strength and faith instead of doubt, fear and anxiety! Praise You Lord God!

We praise you Mighty Sovereign God! There is nothing out of Your control! You inspire us with the courage we need to face the unknown!

P-Prayer

What verse can I use as a prayer for my military family/friend this week?

7 Lord, rise up! My God, come save me! You have struck my enemies on the cheek; you have broken the teeth of the wicked. 8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

I will pray this verse for my warrior and me today! Lord save us, both of us! Holy Spirit, let us know that You are the common denominator, the courage of our daily lives.

Lord, I pray that you would speak to our hearts the truth that You are able, You can and You will keep us and bless us during this time of deployment.

Lord Jesus save my warrior today from the plans of the enemy, strike down the enemy and keep my warrior safe! Bless my warrior with extreme courage and the faith to act it out! Thank you Jesus!

P-BE….Just Do it

As a part or head of a military family, which verse helps me to be better, to act better, to trust God the best this week? Which verse can I use to shape my courage?

5 I can lie down and go to sleep, and I will wake up again, because the Lord gives me strength.

8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

I can rest peacefully and sleep even if enemies are all around me, because I will wake up in God's mighty right hand, in the Lord's strength.

My courage rests on His ability to save my warrior! The Lord can save my warrior! The Lord can deliver me from all my fears! The Lord can keep my warrior! He is able!!!

The more I choose to believe in the Might, Power, Provision and Supreme Sovereignty of my God, the more my courage is shaped by His character. Selah! Think about it!

This Psalm really supports the promise that our courage and the strength to carry it out comes from God! Believe In Him! Trust Him! Praise Him!
