Military Families Perusing The Psalms For: Psalm 4

Psalm 4:1-8

For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments.

Answer me when I call to you, O God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer. 2 How long will you people ruin my reputation? How long will you make groundless accusations? How long will you continue your lies? Interlude 3 You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him. 4 Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude 5 Offer sacrifices in the right spirit, and trust the Lord. 6 Many people say, "Who will show us better times?" Let your face smile on us, Lord. 7 You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine. 8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

P-Purpose-Truth

As a person in the military or in a military family or a friend of someone in the military, what truth, what purpose of God do I see in this Psalm for me and my military warrior?

  • I like verse 6 the best!
  • 6 Many people say, "Who will show us better times?" Let your face smile on us, Lord.
  • God's purpose for us is to be in His Presence and when we are in fellowship with God, these are our best times!
  • No matter what is going on in our lives, we know that in Him there are better times and in Him the best of times are yet to come.

P-Promise

What is God promising my military family/friend in this Psalm? What promise can I hold on to this week?

  • Verse 8 is definitely the promise that I pick for our family!
  • In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.
  • This is an amazing promise for us in military families it helps settles our minds in God's peace as we live out being separated from each other while knowing that our loved ones are in constant danger!
  • It promises us God's peace, a peace in His Presence that gives us the kind of rest that surpasses our stressful situations as we believe in His Sovereignty, receive His Infinite love and accept His ability to keep us safe and work out our situations for good!
  • Jesus gives us the best kind of rest, where we can trust Him with our tomorrow and not have to figure it all out! Sweet sleep! No matter what we are going through, He promises us peace, a peace that is powerful enough to help us lay down and sleep even though things are unsettled with our warrior who is so far away!

P-Praise

What does God show me in this psalm about praising Him?

  • Verse three really stood out to me!
  • You can be sure of this: The Lord set apart the godly for himself. The Lord will answer when I call to him.
  • I see the faithfulness of God in this verse! I praise God for His faithfulness to us!
  • I praise Father God for the Mercy He extended that led to an amazing sacrifice of Jesus. What A Sacrifice that gave us a Common Denominator, The Presence Of God to help us during our deployments.
  • Oh! I praise our Triune God for His faithfulness to us; faithfulness that is always accompanied by His trustworthiness to do what is right for me, my warrior and this family as we sacrifice for the good of this country!

P-Prayer

What verse can I use as a prayer for my military family/friend this week?

  • VS 1 For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments. Answer me when I call to you, O God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
  • Oh What A Sacrifice! Being separated is so hard. I pray Lord that you will hear us when we pray to you. Free us from the troubles, stresses and trials that our deployment sacrifice brings to us and have mercy upon us Lord God!
  • Lord, I pray that you would speak to our hearts the truth that You are able, You can and Your mercy will keep us and bless us during this time of deployment.
  • Lord Jesus protect my warrior today, may Your mercy accompany, walk hand in hand with the sacrifice my warrior makes to protect and defend the liberty of this country.

P-BE….Just Do it

As a part or head of a military family, which verse helps me to be better, to act better, to trust God the best this week? Which verse can I use to shape my attitude about our sacrifices?

  • These verses 4 -5, really convict me and help shape my attitudes during the hard times of trying to stay in communication with each other.
  • Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. 5 Offer sacrifices in the right spirit, and trust the Lord.
  • As a military person or a military family we can have a lot of frustration to deal with as we try to work out our relationships and our lives that are separated by continents at times!
  • If we trust God, if we learn to turn things over to His care then we will have good attitudes, we won't be striving so hard in our own strength, that will in the end fail us, but we will be found in God's strength that will cover our weaknesses by His mercy and help us to grow through our deployments with strong relationships and a unity that God is the common denominator of!
  • This Psalm really supports the promise that the Lord is with us during these hard times of sacrifice. His Mercy shows that He understands our needs during deployments and He will provide for us His everything in our all!

Sacrifice, God’s Love Language!

"Have I ever yielded myself in absolute submission to Jesus Christ? If He is not the One to whom I am looking for direction and guidance then there is no benefit in my sacrifice."

Quote By: Oswald Chambers

John 15:11-15

"I've told you these things for a purpose: that my joy might be your joy, and your joy wholly mature. This is my command: Love one another the way I loved you. This is the very best way to love. Put your life on the line for your friends. You are my friends when you do the things I command you. I'm no longer calling you servants because servants don't understand what their master is thinking and planning. No, I've named you friends because I've let you in on everything I've heard from the Father.

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac-Glowing In His Glory! Always-4Ever! Glow It!*

I realized this morning after reading John 15:13-15, that the Love Language of Father God, The Champion that we pattern our lives after, His Love Language is Sacrifice!

As Champions, we make a lot of sacrifices, to become and stay the best that we can be. But do we make these sacrifices unto our Father God? Are we focused on Jesus Christ? Do we as His Champions have and persevere in the "Godly Virtues" that He finished His race with? I strongly encourage you to take some time these next few weeks and sit with Jesus and learn about Godly Virtue! I have written an exhortation, penned by The Holy Spirit for all Champions In Christ called "Godly Virtue"! It is posted at my website: www.thebridegroomscafe.com you will find it at The Servant Table. Meet Jesus there and learn about the Godly Virtue that will make You an amazing Champion In Christ Jesus, Who sacrifices with joy unto The Father God!

Hebrews 12:1-3

Discipline in a Long-Distance Race

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

"Our friendship with Jesus based on the new life He created in us, which has no resemblance or attraction to our old life, but only to the life of God. It is a life that is completely humble, pure and devoted to God." Quote By: Oswald Chambers

Military Families Perusing The Psalms For: Psalm 3

Psalm 3 A Morning Prayer

David sang this when he ran away from his son Absalom.1 Lord, I have many enemies! Many people have turned against me. 2 Many are saying about me, "God won't rescue him." Selah 3 But, Lord, you are my shield, my wonderful God who gives me courage.

4 I will pray to the Lord, and he will answer me from his holy mountain. Selah 5 I can lie down and go to sleep, and I will wake up again, because the Lord gives me strength. 6 Thousands of troops may surround me, but I am not afraid. 7 Lord, rise up! My God, come save me! You have struck my enemies on the cheek; you have broken the teeth of the wicked. 8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

P-Purpose-Truth

As a person in the military or in a military family or a friend of someone in the military, what truth, what purpose of God do I see in this Psalm for me and my military warrior?

8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

This verse really strengthens my courage in huge hope and helps me to believe in God's Hand upon my warrior!

P-Promise

What is God promising my military family/friend in this Psalm? What promise can I hold on to this week?

3 But, Lord, you are my shield, my wonderful God who gives me courage.

4 I will pray to the Lord, and he will answer me from his holy mountain. Selah 5 I can lie down and go to sleep, and I will wake up again, because the Lord gives me strength.

He promises my warrior, courage a strong courage that lets him lay down in peace and wake up in strength!

It is the same concept for me as I lay down to sleep at night, I can take courage in knowing that the Lord will answer my prayer for my warrior, that the Lord will give my warrior strength.

He promises me, peaceful sleep! I can lay down in complete rest of mind, heart and soul, putting my warrior in God's capable hands because of the COURAGE I have in Christ!

P-Praise

What does God show me in this psalm about praising Him?

David sang this when he ran away from his son Absalom.1 Lord, I have many enemies! Many people have turned against me. 2 Many are saying about me, "God won't rescue him." Selah 3 But, Lord, you are my shield, my wonderful God who gives me courage.

David was in the worst of circumstances, yet he praised God and in this heart of praise, He found courage to face the situation where his enemy was trying to kill him.

David knew that the Lord was his shield, and it was out of this heart knowledge, He praised God.

I praise You Lord God for the courage you give me as I know deep inside of me that You shields my heart with Your courage!

I know my warrior faces danger each day and it makes my soul shiver within me. I praise you God! Mighty God! Protector, Provider! I praise You and thank you for Who You are and how it inspires my heart to face each day with courage, strength and faith instead of doubt, fear and anxiety! Praise You Lord God!

We praise you Mighty Sovereign God! There is nothing out of Your control! You inspire us with the courage we need to face the unknown!

P-Prayer

What verse can I use as a prayer for my military family/friend this week?

7 Lord, rise up! My God, come save me! You have struck my enemies on the cheek; you have broken the teeth of the wicked. 8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

I will pray this verse for my warrior and me today! Lord save us, both of us! Holy Spirit, let us know that You are the common denominator, the courage of our daily lives.

Lord, I pray that you would speak to our hearts the truth that You are able, You can and You will keep us and bless us during this time of deployment.

Lord Jesus save my warrior today from the plans of the enemy, strike down the enemy and keep my warrior safe! Bless my warrior with extreme courage and the faith to act it out! Thank you Jesus!

P-BE….Just Do it

As a part or head of a military family, which verse helps me to be better, to act better, to trust God the best this week? Which verse can I use to shape my courage?

5 I can lie down and go to sleep, and I will wake up again, because the Lord gives me strength.

8 The Lord can save his people. Lord, bless your people. Selah

I can rest peacefully and sleep even if enemies are all around me, because I will wake up in God's mighty right hand, in the Lord's strength.

My courage rests on His ability to save my warrior! The Lord can save my warrior! The Lord can deliver me from all my fears! The Lord can keep my warrior! He is able!!!

The more I choose to believe in the Might, Power, Provision and Supreme Sovereignty of my God, the more my courage is shaped by His character. Selah! Think about it!

This Psalm really supports the promise that our courage and the strength to carry it out comes from God! Believe In Him! Trust Him! Praise Him!

Military Families Perusing The Psalms For: Psalm 2

Psalm 2 :1-12

Why do the nations plan evil together? Why do they make useless plans? 2 The kings of the earth take their stand against the Lord. The rulers of the earth gather together against his anointed king. 3 "Let us break free from their chains," they say. "Let us throw off their ropes." 4 The One who sits on his throne in heaven laughs. The Lord makes fun of those rulers and their plans. 5 When he is angry, he warns them. When his anger blazes out, he terrifies them. 6 He says to them, "I have placed my king on my holy mountain of Zion." 7 I will announce what the Lord has promised. He said to me, "You are my son. Today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will give the nations to you. All nations on earth will belong to you. 9 You will rule them with an iron rod. You will break them to pieces like clay pots." 10 Kings, be wise! Rulers of the earth, be warned! 11 Serve the Lord and have respect for him. Serve him with joy and trembling. 12 Obey the son completely, or he will be angry. Your way of life will lead to your death. His anger can blaze out at any moment. Blessed are all those who go to him for safety.

P-Purpose-Truth

As a person in the military or in a military family or a friend of someone in the military, what truth, what purposes of God do I see in this Psalm for me and my military warrior?

12 Obey the son completely, or he will be angry. Your way of life will lead to your death. His anger can blaze out at any moment. Blessed are all those who go to him for safety.

MY INSIGHTS:

  • We know as Military Families that obedience is necessary in the military because it can save your life. Doing what you want when you want it and not following a uniform tactical code can be disastrous in the military line of work.
  • I mean if you had a bad attitude day and did not want to follow orders, not only would you take down yourself by not following commands but also many other people. Just the same as our life with God, God has set forth His way for us, to protect us and His Word is a measure of safety for us to live by.
  • Completely is a key word here.
  • We need to take God at His Word, do what it says without any rationalization.

  • P-Promise

What is God promising my military family/friend in this Psalm? What promise can I hold on to this week?

7 I will announce what the Lord has promised. He said to me, "You are my son. Today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will give the nations to you. All nations on earth will belong to you.

  • He promises us His all! His heart towards us is Huge!
  • He is our Father and He will take care of us in every and any situation!
  • We need to ask Him first when we have a need

P-Praise

What does God show me in this psalm about praising Him?

8 Ask me, and I will give the nations to you. All nations on earth will belong to you.

MY INSIGHTS:

  • Lord we praise you that all the nations on earth will belong to you.
  • We Praise You, You are the owner of this world. You are the creator.
  • We praise you that you are able to take care of that which you have made.
  • We praise you that You Hold The World In Your Hands!

P-Prayer

What verse can I use as a prayer for my military family/friend this week?

1Why do the nations plan evil together? Why do they make useless plans? 2 The kings of the earth take their stand against the Lord. The rulers of the earth gather together against his anointed king. 3 "Let us break free from their chains," they say. "Let us throw off their ropes." 4 The One who sits on his throne in heaven laughs. The Lord makes fun of those rulers and their plans.

MY INSIGHTS:

  • Lord, Nations plan evil against us and our warriors are the object of that evil. I pray that you would render their plans useless.
  • No plans will survive Your purposes! I pray that every good purpose will be accomplished in the life of my warrior. Help my warrior break free from any chains, any ropes the enemy wants to burden my warrior with!

P-BE….Just Do it

As a part or head of a military family, which verse helps me to be better, to act better, to trust God the best this week? Which verse can I use to shape my attitudes?

10 Kings, be wise! Rulers of the earth, be warned! 11 Serve the Lord and have respect for him. Serve him with joy and trembling.

MY INSIGHTS:

  • Respect is a really good attitude to develop in your heart. You can respect with your head while you disrespect with your heart. You will act better when you follow after God's wisdom with a heart of respect.

  • When you are being found submissive to His ways, respecting Him because of Who He is. Respect out of a heart of respect does lend to Joy. You can have Joy even in the hardest of times if your respect is pure, from the heart, which leads to good choices and strength of character. BE wise, Serve God from the heart out of a heart of respect. Be Joyful and respectful.

  • How can we as military and military families have attitudes that reflect respect, willessness and joy? We need to be constantly checking our heart attitudes? How long has it been since you had an attitude check? Respect X 2! Respect goes both ways. God values us, He loves us with all His heart and there is no good thing He will withhold from us. We must respect Him from an undivided heart. We must check our attitudes to make sure we have a healthy esteem for God!

ATTITUDE CHECK RESPECT x 2!

Tough Love

This blog page is a response page from The Bridegroom's Cafe/Family Table/Water It Side Dish at www.thebridegroomscafe.com

Questions:

Habakkuk 3:18-19

When you water your heart with this scripture, how does your courage grow?

My Answer: God helps me walk in the hard places of this life. He gives me strength and in that strength of the Lord, my courage grows. I am not afraid, because I know He will help me even if His Tough Love is hard to take, I know that He is doing what is best for me.

Micah 5:4

When you water your mind with this scripture, what promise grows to guard your thoughts?

I can be confident in those that lead me, even in tough times like these because the Lord is with them, His favor is with our country. When I am afraid of our future, I know that God is at the helm of this country, I know that He is in control and will work all things out for our good.

1 Timothy 1:12

When you water your heart with this scripture, what thoughts of thanksgiving does it nurture in your mind? What grows out of your spirit when you water it with this scripture?

I am so thankful for the strength of God. I know that gratefulness grows my faith and faith my character and when my character grows, my trust in God grows! It is a really good snowball effect! It is all good!!

2 Corinthians 12:8-10

When you water you mind with this scripture, what good thoughts does it seed and what good actions will it grow as you think about God's Tough Love?

I think about being honest about my weakness and not trying to hide it because God manifests His strength through it. I think about my family and all the tough times we have been through, times that God did not lift the trial until all His purposes were worked out in us and I think about how better off we were after the trials. I think about the heavenly hindsight of good growth in my inner personality, how I matured through every tough time I went through. I think about how good God is!

Road Trip ramah: Spiritual Nourishment 4 strength!

1 Peter 2:8-10

"He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall."[a] They stumble because they do not obey God's word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. 9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,[b] a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 10 "Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy."[New Living Translation (NLT)

Road Trip 2 endurance/promises for soul nourishment

"You can deal with an enormous amount of success as well as an enormous amount of failure without losing your identity, because your identity is that you are the beloved. Long before your father and mother, your brothers and sisters, your teachers, your church, or any people touched you in a loving as well as in a wounding way-long before you were rejected by some person or praised by somebody else-that voice has been there always. "I have loved you with an everlasting love." That love is there before you were born and will be there after you die."

Quote By:Henri J. M. Nouwen

Road Trip personal thoughts!

It is just amazing to me how I have gotten through these 33 days of this God Adventure Road Trip! Choice by Choice has been a great revelation for me because it focuses me on Jesus 1st, not my personal goals. Moment to moment I am following Him, I am changing on the tick of a second to stay in pace with Him in my all and everything. I am learning His ways, His truths and His life velocity for me. He is setting the Championship pace for my run through this life unto the finish line. Every morning I find myself in His Presence, looking for the footprint He has left for me to fit my steps into for that day. He is always faithful and it is always there, His impression for me to pursue with His personal intent that I be position in His Grace choice by choice.

Psalm 86:11

Lord, teach me how you want me to live. Then I will follow your truth. Give me a heart that doesn't want anything more than to worship you.

We would be still and know that You are God.... We stand in awe of You..., Your awesome holiness, majestic splendor, blazing glory, limitless power, and unquestionable sovereignty. We worship You for Your flawless character, Your infinite knowledge and wisdom, Your absolute justice, unswerving faithfulness, unending mercy.... We bow our hearts and bend our knees before... Your dazzling beauty, Your fascinating personality, Your incomprehensible humility, Your unsearchable understanding, and Your unfathomable love.... Our greatest need is to have a far greater revelation of what You are really like. We ask You to meet that need.

  6. Your love, your unfathomable love, how can I ever take it for granted! I am so grateful for Your love, it surrounds me inside to outside, shallow to deep, under to over and always with me.
  7. Jesus, thank you for dying for me so I could have a greater revelation through a personal relationship with my Father God, of WHOSE I am.

Road Trip personal thoughts!

The last few days, the biggest revelation to me was that I was so worried about Who I was. I had exchanged a lie for a truth because God is not concerned so much about who I am on the outside as He is about WHOSE I am on the inside. This part of my Road Trip Adventure has really impacted me and I deeply realize that in order to Grow 2 Go unto endurance, I need to be focused on WHOSE I am and not who I am. Jesus! I am yours!
