Day 13, Tuesday January 13, 2009

Road Trip personal thoughts!

I got up late this morning! Slept in till 7:30! I hate when I start the day behind what I feel the Lord needed me for. Gave in to the flesh! I did wake up with a God thought in my heart though! God is so faithful!

Road Trip : 2 Endurance! attitude- paced- 2-appreciate!

"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit...and be thankful." Quote by--Henry David Thoreau

  1. I am so thankful for the Word of God that helps me from being soul-tripped during days where my body is tired, my will is restless and my spirit is weak.
  2. I am thankful that You have used my gifts for Your Kingdom this week.
  3. I am thankful for the provisions You have given us, to have all my needs met this day.
  4. I am so appreciative of the Courage You were in me, to step out and do something new.
  5. I am so grateful for Your favor, accompanied by Your Mighty Strength.
  6. Thank you Lord, for opening the doors here in Charleston to Your Will, Your Purposes, Your Kingdom Trade.
  7. Thank you for being a friend Lord, faithful and true.

1 Corinthians 10:1-10

Remember our history, friends, and be warned. All our ancestors were led by the providential Cloud and taken miraculously through the Sea. They went through the waters, in a baptism like ours, as Moses led them from enslaving death to salvation life. They all ate and drank identical food and drink, meals provided daily by God. They drank from the Rock, God's fountain for them that stayed with them wherever they were. And the Rock was Christ. But just experiencing God's wonder and grace didn't seem to mean much—most of them were defeated by temptation during the hard times in the desert, and God was not pleased. 6-10The same thing could happen to us. We must be on guard so that we never get caught up in wanting our own way as they did. And we must not turn our religion into a circus as they did—"First the people partied, then they threw a dance." We must not be sexually promiscuous—they paid for that, remember, with 23,000 deaths in one day! We must never try to get Christ to serve us instead of us serving him; they tried it, and God launched an epidemic of poisonous snakes. We must be careful not to stir up discontent; discontent destroyed them.

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Endurance is grown in me when I can shake loose of wanting my own way long enough to wait on that which God has for me. For a while when I first got saved, I did look for Jesus to serve me. It was all about me and what He could do for me. I was not Kingdom minded at all. I did what I wanted, and I did it in a religiosities way that had a Christian look, with a surface shine, but the heart of the matter was dull. I received salvation, which at the heart of it is change, but I still was on the throne of my life, therefore only my destiny changed! My course in this world was still steered by my flesh, and the way that testified to that was my discontentment. Nothing satisfied me, I wanted a title, I wanted a place to belong, I wanted to be noticed. I never noticed how many I's were alive in my life until everything began to fall apart and the circus left the building! So, Yes this scripture means a lot to me, in a heavenly hindsight kind of way. I have changed! Oh and Yes…. I am on guard, constantly watching that my flesh never gets caught up wanting its own way. That is why I am on this Road Trip Adventure with God. I want to Grow 2 Go unto endurance!

Road Trip : 2 Good Shape-body-glory glow!

I feel so tired, "blue" and grouchy today! I still feel kind of sluggish in body, yet God was speaking to me in my spirit, so strong and I felt full of His exhortation today. It is funny how your body can feel so yucky, but praise helps you shake it off your spirit and you can realize the strength of the Lord, even when you feel weak in body! He is good!

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Today was a mixed up day. I was struggling a lot with my flesh, with the "blue" feeling of sadness and feeling very tired. But, thankfully I endured and I made choices based out of obedience, the strength of God in my spirit and not my flesh. So, I consider today a great success on my Road Trip God Adventure… Grow 2 Go… To Endurance!

Family Prayer: Quiet Strength!

Quiet Strength!

Family Prayer Week of January 13th, 2009

"Humility is perfect quietness of heart. It is for me to have no trouble; never to be fretted or vexed or irritated or sore or disappointed. It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me. It is to be at rest when nobody praises me and when I am blamed or despised. It is to have a blessed home in the Lord where I can go in and shut the door and kneel to my Father in secret and be at peace as in a deep sea of calmness when all around is trouble. It is the fruit of the Lord Jesus Christ's redemptive work on Calvary's cross, manifested in those of His own who are definitely subject to the Holy Spirit." Quote By Andrew Murray

Isaiah 30:13-14

Those sins are like cracks in a high wall. They get bigger and bigger. Suddenly the wall breaks apart. Then it quickly falls down. 14 It breaks into small pieces like a clay pot. It breaks up completely. Not one piece is left big enough for taking coals from a fireplace. Not one piece is left for dipping water out of a well."

New International Reader's Version (NIRV) Copyright © 1996, 1998 by International Bible Society

Does this sound familiar precious family? I have been there in this place, where nothing was left in me, not even enough to dip water out of the well of life, not wanting to live another day! BUT God! I read this today and the first God thought I had was that this is a picture of America this day. A country with sins that have cracked the wall of our freedom! Our country has cracks in the wall and we all know it. So, what now? Precious family, I believe our Father God is calling us to a quiet strength, a place of deep rootedness in Him! The wall of security will come tumbling down, not one piece left. Don't be rooted here in this world. Silently submit, wholeheartedly and completely to God! I pray that for us this day! I pray for a perfect quiet, stillness dipped in the humility of the blood of Jesus, therefore perfect in Strength, Love and Sacrifice! Love you much! Pray for each other! Jesus giveth quietness! So Be It In Us! His Quiet Strength Found At His Feet, In His Presence!

Job 34:29

When He gives quietness (peace and security from oppression), who then can condemn? When He hides His face [withdrawing His favor and help], who then can behold Him [and make Him gracious], whether it be a nation or a man by himself?--

Psalm 46:8-11

Come, behold the works of the Lord, Who has wrought desolations and wonders in the earth. 9He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow into pieces and snaps the spear in two; He burns the chariots in the fire. 10Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! 11The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our Refuge (our High Tower and Stronghold). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Psalm 18:1-3

I love you, Lord. You give me strength. 2 The Lord is my rock and my fort. He is the One who saves me. My God is my rock. I go to him for safety. He is like a shield to me. He's the power that saves me. He's my place of safety. 3 I call out to the Lord. He is worthy of praise. He saves me from my enemies.

Isaiah 30:12-17

Therefore, The Holy of Israel says this: "Because you scorn this Message, Preferring to live by injustice and shape your lives on lies, This perverse way of life will be like a towering, badly built wall That slowly, slowly tilts and shifts, and then one day, without warning, collapses—Smashed to bits like a piece of pottery, smashed beyond recognition or repair, Useless, a pile of debris to be swept up and thrown in the trash."

God Takes the Time to Do Everything Right

God, the Master, The Holy of Israel, has this solemn counsel: "Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me—The very thing you've been unwilling to do.

The best thing He did for us, the most incredible, most taken for granted is THE CROSS…

  • Lord cause us to dig deeper beyond the surface traditions and habits of our religiosity and find a true silent submission to our Father God! Make it so in us!
  • Father shut down the endless chatter of our minds, that the wheels of our will might stop in front of Your Cross and bow, silently before You.
  • Father bow our hearts before You, help us to remember the LOVE OF YOUR CROSS, help us to know nothing separates us from You. Quietness in Your Presence!
  • Jesus may the Quietness In Your Presence be Your prevailing strength in all of us in this family, in our everything. So Be It!

Streams In The Desert January 31st

"He gives quietness in the midst of the raging storm. As we sail the lake with Him, reaching deep water and far from land, suddenly, under the midnight sky, a mighty storm sweeps down. Earth and hell seem mobilized against us, and each wave threatens to overwhelm our boat. Then He rises from His sleep and rebukes the wind and the wave. He waves His hand, signaling the end of the raging temptest and the beginning of the restful calm. His voice is heard above the screaming of the wind through the ropes and rigging, and over the thrashing of the waves. "Quiet! Be Still!" (Mark 4:39) Can you not hear it? And instantly there is a great calm. "He giveth quietness"—quietness even in the midst of losing our inner strength and comforts. Sometimes He removes these because we make too much of them. We are tempted to look at our joys, pleasures, passions, or our dreams, with too much self-satisfaction. Then through His gracious love He withdraws them, leading us to distinguish between them and Himself. He draws near and whispers the assurance of His Presence, bringing an infinite calm to keep our hearts and minds. "He giveth quietness."

"He giveth quietness." O Elder Brother,

Whose homeless feet have pressed our path of pain,

Whose hands have borne the burden of our sorrow,

That in our losses we might find our gain.

Of all Your gifts and infinite consoling,

I ask but this: in every troubled hour

To hear Your voice through all the tumults stealing,

And rest serene beneath its tranquil power.

Cares cannot fret me if my soul be dwelling

In the still air of faiths untroubled day;

Grief cannot fret me if I walk beside you,

My hand in Yours along the darkening way.

Content to know there comes a radiant morning

When from all shadows I will find release;

Serene to wait the rapture of its dawning—

Who can make trouble when You send me peace?

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Today I was thinking about my bad habits that die hard!! Especially when I am dieting, I become very acquainted with my bad habits. One of them is eating after 9pm, snacking on granola bars or something that I think is "healthy", yet the hour that I eat it, makes it fattening! So, I crave a snack around 9pm and I am learning to break that habit! I have soul habits too that make my emotions fat, putting unnecessary burden on my spirit! I think my mind helps out with that too! I make assumptions that lean negatively and then they raise bad emotions in me, which I tend to rehearse so much that it burdens my spirit with excess weight! I am working on changing that bad habit too!! I am tired of being soul-tripped!!

Road Trip 2 endurance/promises for soul nourishment

Isaiah 26:3

Lord, you will give perfect peace to anyone who commits himself to be faithful to you. That's because he trusts in you.

New International Reader's Version (NIRV) Copyright © 1996, 1998 by International Bible Society

  • Commits himself to be faithful… those words hit me hard because I realize I am not there yet. I am not faithful and steadfast in holding my Holy Ground. I still have a tendency to react in the flesh to my suddenly situations, instead of responding in the Spirit of my hearts commitment to You, Jesus.
  • Breaking old habits is hard. Impulsiveness does not yield peace, trust and standing your Holy Ground in hard times does. Help me Jesus!
  • A promise of peace! Commit, Trust and being found faithful=God's Peace!

  • Lord I praise You for Your Presence, that brings such complete peace!
  • Lord I praise You for Your Presence, that is in my all and everything
  • Lord I praise You for Your Presence that brings such amazing joy.
  • Lord I praise You for Your Presence where I can find peace of mind!
  • Lord I praise You for Your Presence that hears, listens and answers!

Quote By Dwight L Moody

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Lord, I realize on this road trip with You, this amazing adventure you have brought me on to Grow 2 Go, that I don't need to fill myself! I don't need to eat my full of food, whether it be spiritually or physically! You fill me. If I think that I can nurture myself, then I am full of myself. Being full of me is a pretty empty way to live! I need to stop wanting my own way in my all and everything. You have something new for me, different, uncomfortable, yet so filling and the best thing for me in my all and everything! I believe Lord God! I believe You will show me the way on this Road Trip!

Road Trip personal thoughts!

This verse is one of the first uphill crossroads in this 2009 Road Trip Adventure with God. I can either turn right and make a U-turn and go back to where I was. I can turn left, go off on my own and find an easier way to go. Or I can go straight, take the challenge and go up hill with God! The Lord shared with me this morning that this part of our Grow 2 Go road trip adventure for the next 40 days will be learning this:

Making my personal desires at home in His desire-destiny only, so that my human appetites are satisfied by Him alone and thus, therefore my Endurance Grows 2 Go!!

Are you going to join me? Even so… off I go on this leg of my Road Trip adventure, learning the curbing my fleshly appetites in all areas of my life, not just the food I desire for my body, but the satisfaction I desire for my soul, the contentment I desire for my spirit and the ways of my will! The source of all my desires must be found in Jesus First. He must become the FIRST desire of all my earthly appetites.

Psalm 27:4-5

I want to worship him in his temple. 5 When I'm in trouble, he will keep me safe in his house. He will hide me in the safety of his holy tent. He will put me on a rock that is very high.

Road Trip personal thoughts!

God wants me to sacrifice the things I desire for my body, the temple of His Holy Spirit. Endurance of body means I can carry on and go the extra mile in my service unto God, in my Kingdom Trade. It is God's Desire that I put Him First when it comes to taking care of my body. It is His desire that I change habits that cause me not to be in shape and keep me from becoming a Champion in this area of my life. For my body to endure, I must choose a life-style diet of food and exercise that daily yields me renewed strength and gives glory to God! I must make God my One Desire, My First Desire when I exercise or make a choice to eat the right things! My First Desire, My One Desire as I Grow 2 Go will be to worship God, in His Presence through my good choices of food and exercise. Change Me, the way I take care of my body I pray Lord Jesus! ONE THING…ONLY ONE THING! JESUS FIRST!

Lord Change My Soul! The HEART OF YOUR GOSPEL IS CHANGE…Transform Me!

Psalm 65:4

Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whom You choose and cause to come near, that he may dwell in Your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.

Road Trip personal thoughts!

My soul seeks for the satisfaction of the security of an earthly home. My soul longs for the comfort of the sameness that roots in this world bring my emotions. My soul desires to escape the stress of change, the burden of earthly trials, the fear of insecurity through the entertainment of my soul in the unreality of TV characters and their unreal lives. God wants me to simply draw near to His Presence and find a satisfaction that is never shaken by the changes of my reality. God wants the satisfaction of my soul to be in Him to endure and grow through the hand of reality He has dealt me. He wants to be my soul's One Desire- First Desire and only source of true, lasting satisfaction! ONE THING…ONLY ONE THING! JESUS FIRST!

Lord Change My will! The HEART OF YOUR GOSPEL IS CHANGE…Transform Me!

Psalm 27:45

The one thing I ask of the Lord— the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord's perfections and meditating in his Temple. 5 For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock.

Road Trip personal thoughts!

My will studies at the feet of this world by what I see, read, hear and experience therefore what I want is shaped by what I stay focused on and pick up from this world. When I study at the feet of worldly culture, my will is driven by unreal expectations. It is God's Desire that I study at His Feet, in the Presence of His Living Word. He wants His Voice to penetrate the ear drums of my will bending and shaping my will to know and hear His Voice First! As I learn to contemplate His beauty in heartfelt praise, my will is sharpened in submission and positioned in His purpose. I learn endurance as I Grow 2 Go by the bending of my will through the Word. My will is bent, what I want is broken and His character is shaped in me. It is God's Desire that my will be completely His, it must be my One Desire, My 1st Desire! Change My Will, Lord Jesus! ONE THING…ONLY ONE THING! JESUS FIRST!

Lord Change My Mind! The HEART OF YOUR GOSPEL IS CHANGE…Transform Me!

Psalm 16:11

Road Trip personal thoughts!

When I am not in the know, when I don't understand, I need to stop trying to wrap my mind around surface appearances! What I think I know, is very often not God's interpretation, purpose or way as He works in the unseen for my good! I need to stop mulling things over and over in my mind, being so crazy to find a way to resolve and understand! Help me Holy Spirit to learn to put my worn out perspective in Your Mighty Right Hand, trusting that You will show my mind the path of thoughts that are in Your Presence now. Teach me how to live in thoughts that are content with belief without sight! I want to learn to live in the fullness of Your Joy, without having to know it all, thinking this is what will satisfy my mind. I realize now that endurance is not found in knowing everything I desire to know, but in trusting- Growing 2 Go without the know! Quiet the spin for understanding in my mind Lord Jesus and turn it in the direction of belief in Your goodness. Change My thought processes Lord Jesus! Transform my mind in Your Word, Grace and Soundness. ONE THING…ONLY ONE THING! JESUS FIRST!

Lord Change My Spirit! The HEART OF YOUR GOSPEL IS CHANGE…Transform Me!

Psalm 27:4-5

One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.(A) 5For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock. Road Trip personal thoughts!

My spirit must no longer desire the contentment that schedule, sameness and worldly security and order brings me. My contentment must be uprooted from this world's culture and transplanted in Kingdom soil. Completely! Jesus must become my ONE THING! My ONE DESIRE in my spirit should be the Presence of HIS SPIRIT. As I Grow 2 Go, I must learn to endure through constant change and insecurity, knowing that this is the heart of God. The heart of the Gospel is change, change that uproots us from this world and makes us more like Jesus. This is where I need to Grow 2 Go this year so that I find myself here: My spirit yearns for Jesus, to behold, gaze and delight myself in Him as My One Desire, My First Desire! ONE THING…ONLY ONE THING! JESUS FIRST!

Empty Me! By Chris Sligh

Psalm 27:4-5

I'm asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with him in his house my whole life long. I'll contemplate his beauty; I'll study at his feet. 5 That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic.

Some Lyrics:

"I have had just enough of the spotlight when it burns bright…

I tasted my share of the sweet life and the wild ride…

Empty me of the selfishness inside, every vain ambition and the poison of my pride

….any foolish name my heart holds to, empty me of me so that I can be filled of You."

Some Lyrics: "The day unfolds before me and my heart turns to you! Lord there is only one thing I will ask, it's that in everything I do, You would be first, you would be all, You would be everything. Whatever it takes for my will to break and Yours be done. If I rise or fall, won't matter at all, only if You receive the praise, for better or worse that You would be first."

  7. Thank You for stabilizing me in a world that rocks me so often. You are my courage!
  8. Thank you that I am Yours! I am Yours! Not because of what I do, but because of Who You Are! Jesus!

Road Trip personal thoughts!

My success in life is not measured in earthly value! I feel very successful at the end of the day when I have kept my footsteps in the Presence of God, I have not chased any of the enemy's bunny trails and I have taken everything God gave me that day and given it away, seeded it in His Kingdom, in the people He loves. Remember always… Not because of who you are, but because of Who He is in you! We are so precious to Him!

Philippians 3:8-10

What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Each day is a gift and the true gift of a day is that we don't have to live ahead. God has given time to live out one day periods, without the burden of having to figure out tomorrow. He has given us the life of Christ in us, so we can take all that He fills us with that day and lay it all out on His Harvest field. So much happens in our world that we can't wrap our minds around, yet our God has blessed us with the luxury of trust, because He is so faithful, so trustworthy we don't have to be stumped by misunderstanding, we just simply believe, that is all He has asked of us and He does the rest! We are totally spoiled by Him! He is in our day, never leaving us…. He goes before us and He is our rear guard. All we have to do is be found in Him, right now and believe. That is why one of my favorite verses is… be found in Him.

"A purpose will motivate you.

A purpose will keep your priorities straight.

A purpose will develop your potential.

A purpose will give you power to live in the present.

A purpose will help you evaluate your progress."

Quoted From: The Maxwell Leadership Bible

Road Trip personal thoughts!

I know Lord that You are working out Your purposes in me as I Grow 2 Go! Your purposes are causing me to live in the present, to draw my strength from you right now. I am learning that each choice is a decision that moves me successfully towards my goal, that my goal is not my 1st priority, but my choice right now is my priority.

Grow-2-Go!

Day 8: Thursday, January 8th 2009:

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Last night was not a good night! Disappointment knocked me off my feet. I began to entertain stupid thoughts and played along with them, something I know, I know is a dangerous thing. My attitudes were shaped by my thoughts and it was downhill into the fleshly pit from there. Bad choices!! Forgive me Lord and help me to be cleansed in spirit, soul and submitted in will and action today!

Road Trip : 2 Endurance! attitude- paced- 2-appreciate!

  • I am thankful today for a new day.
  • I am so grateful that His Mercy is new every morning!
  • I am very thankful for the Strong Mighty Right Hand of God that pulls me out of my own stupidity-pit of self-pity!
  • I am so thankful that God is not finished with me yet, that I am Growing 2 Go=endurance!
  • I am grateful for His Holy Spirit that cleanses me and refreshes my attitudes in His Grace!
  • I am so very, very thankful for the Word of God that puts my feet on the right path towards peace, provision, purpose and in The Presence Of My God!
  • I am thankful and humbled by the Righteousness of Jesus that covers my sin!
  • I am thankful for a husband who loves me!
  • Lord, I so appreciate Your Favor for the GATORS WIN! Cool! I am a thankful Gators Fan!

He Covers Me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u1UFVspybA

Lyrics…

"Oh Lord I feel so barren and ashamed of who I am….

I lean upon your mercy as I confess my sin to You….

So, Let my life be filled with ONLY YOU…

I know someday I will be free the weight of sin shall be released, but for now He covers me.

Though the trials never end, I have learned to take them as my friend, for each day He covers me.

I suffer patiently from wrongs done to me, but vengeance is not mine to take….

It is Your grace that helps me carry on…..

….nothing can separate me from You, I know that is true!"

Road Trip personal thoughts!

I went to bed and woke up in a mood that was all about me…. Poor, poor me… and then the Holy Spirit put this song on my heart. He Covers Me. I looked it up on youtube and the video was truly icing on the cake of an awesome song…. It showed me that God is with us in all things from the little things to the horrific tragedies… in our weakness, small and large, He is always the strength that causes us to rise up out of the pits of this life as He offers us His Mighty Right Hand Of Strength. He covers us! If we keep HIM FIRST, position ourselves in His Grace, we will rise up out of our weakness into HIS STRENGTH! Hoping Huge today for You and for Me that Jesus will be our Cover! Today I Cover Myself in Jesus, I put on the Helmet of His Salvation! Just Do It! Be Covered In His Salvation Today! Jesus Covers Me! He Covers Me! I will be free!

Jeremiah 18:15

But my people have forgotten me. They burn incense to worthless gods. Their gods made them trip and fall as they walked on the old paths. They made them use side roads instead of roads that were built up.

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Jesus, it is so easy to forget when we take off on our own and we eventually do trip up and fall. I know I do. When my independence sticks up its ugly head, I get impulsive and I do take the second best, easier traveled road. And it is so true that it is not a road that is built up and it usually is an old path, where I don't see anything new, anything that challenges my heart. On the Holy Ground of Your Presence! Wow! I don't stumble and all things are new and the adventure is so great and my life foundation is not built on soft ground, but upon a lasting foundation! Thank you Jesus! You make all our old ways…. So new!

I am thinking that it is day 7! God's perfect number! I went to bed kind of grouchy, worn out and feeling physically tired and achy. This morning, my soul aches for friendship! I need God! I need others.

Some Of The Lyrics:

"In Christ Alone My Hope Is Found, He is my light, my strength my song… This cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest doubt and storm. My Comforter, my All in All. This gift of love and righteousness. Scorned by the ones He came to save. Here in the death of Christ I live. Here in the power of Christ I will stand! Jesus!"

  1. I praise You Jesus, My Victory! I Praise The Commander Of My Victory, Jesus! Praise You Jesus!
  2. I praise You, Righteous Savior!
  3. I praise You our Gift Of Incredible, Faithful, Sacrificial, Unconditional Love! Jesus!
  4. I praise You, Jesus our Cornerstone
  5. I praise You comforter of the lonely, healer of the sinner, salvation of all!
  6. I praise You Father God for the Solid Ground, The Rock That You Are! Forever Strong!
  7. I praise You Holy Spirit for the Powerful Comforter You Are! I praise You! I Give You Glory! Jesus, Father God, Holy Spirit… All Praise, All Honor, All Glory Unto You!

Road Trip personal thoughts!

Getting back to the basics through this spiritual fast has taught me… simply Jesus! I read an article sent to me on Twitter today about the Dream Center opening its Medical Clinic and one line stood out to me about how the doctors could "simply practice medicine"… I thought: Isn't that what our lives in Christ should be! Hospitals for sinners, simply practicing the Love of Jesus, in the Presence and Power of His Life, we stand! Make it so in me Jesus! Simply Jesus! This fast has shown me just how much extra I have… I juggle so much. I am simply doing liquids and I miss food… but I realize the abundance of it in my life. We have so much and I take it for granted! Not any more! I also miss TV. I realize the over abundance of that in my life! Back to the Basics…. Simply Jesus! It is great for your soul! With so much stuff all around us, we lose the sharp attunement of our Spirit with God's Spirit! Simply Jesus!

Isaiah 14:12-22

"King of Babylonia, you thought you were the bright morning star. But now you have fallen from heaven! You once brought nations down. But now you have been thrown down to the earth! 13 You said in your heart, 'I will go up to heaven. I'll raise my throne above the stars of God. I'll sit as king on the mountain where the gods meet. I'll set up my throne on the highest slopes of the sacred mountain. 14 I will rise above the tops of the clouds. I'll make myself like the Most High God.' 15 But now you have been brought down to the grave. You have been thrown into the deepest part of the pit.

Road Trip personal thoughts!

  • Pride does that, it fosters an independent spirit in me. I know that I don't stand on Holy Ground, in Your Presence when I walk in the human stubbornness of my heart, thinking I know better than You.
  • There is no One like You, Lord…none! When we try to rise up above Your authority, we will fall. Lord keep my heart pure of such a foolishness as this. Keep me bowed before You in heart, will, mind and spirit… on Holy Ground! Jesus!
  • Jesus, may Your Name always be lifted up before any want, any desire, any passion that I might be tempted to enlist in. May I always follow after YOU,FIRST! PS… keep my feet on Holy Ground!

Road Trip personal thoughts!

I got disappointed this afternoon and my attitudes got wacked out as I thought about what I was doing in this spiritual fast. I entertained questions like: Why am I doing this? What am I doing this for? And the classic question: What is the point? And then my disappointment led me down stupid thought roads, that further added to my bad attitudes and then I acted on them in the ugliest of ways when my hubby got home… I went to bed… tired, discouraged and ugly in heart…. Not a good end to a somewhat good day!
