Friday – Read Hosea 14:1-9; Romans 3:26

In these verses we find an appeal by the prophet for God's people to repent of their idolatry, return to the Lord their God, and trust in God's promise of deliverance.

What does Hosea say has been the downfall of Israel [v.1]?

How has sin been your downfall? What consequences have you born or do you now bear on account of your idolatry?

To whom should Israel look for deliverance from God's judgment [v.3]? Hosea tells us that in order to be delivered from God's judgment, God's people must look to the God who pronounces the judgment. How does this square with what the apostle Paul says in Romans 3:26?

May you be blessed by God's promise to replant, restore, and redeem [v.4-8]!

O ISRAEL, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled and fallen, [visited by calamity] due to your iniquity.2 Take with you words and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; accept what is good and receive us graciously; so will we render [our thanks] as bullocks [to be sacrificed] and pay the confession of our lips. 3 Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands [idols], You are our gods. For in You [O Lord] the fatherless find love, pity, and mercy.4 I will heal their faithlessness; I will love them freely, for My anger is turned away from [Israel].5 I will be like the dew and the night mist to Israel; he shall grow and blossom like the lily and cast forth his roots like [the sturdy evergreens of] Lebanon.6 His suckers and shoots shall spread, and his beauty shall be like the olive tree and his fragrance like [the cedars and aromatic shrubs of] Lebanon.7 They that dwell under his shade shall return; they shall revive like the grain and blossom like the vine; the scent of it shall be like the wine of Lebanon.8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered [him] and will regard and watch over him; I am like a green fir or cypress tree; with Me is the fruit found [which is to nourish you].9 Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of the Lord are right and the [uncompromisingly] just shall walk in them, but transgressors shall stumble and fall in them.

Lord please touch and give comfort, wisdom and strength to everyone afraid of what is happening in Egypt and let them know… YOU ARE IN CONTROL! You have to settle your trust of God, because if you don't it will mess with your calling. He is shouldering this government- HIs military. Tears are good...He collects everyone of them. Whatever it takes for you to get back to being the message of the MESSENGER... He Messenger is responsible for the results of your message. God is in control. He is mighty- He is The Messenger is responsible for the results of your message. God is in control. He is mighty- He is powerful... never forget God, shielded by the shadow of Jesus ahead of you. You are His Word-Warrior... the fight is His! FOLLOWSHIP is a wise thing in the midst of a battle such as this!

Ephesians 4 ~ Message Bible

1-3In light of all this, here's what I want you to do. While I'm locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don't want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don't want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.

*My THOUGHTS:

The thought that comes in my head is that you have to do everything you can do to make peace and then when that is done, it is up to the other person to do the same, if they don't want to, then you are free to walk away to pray and wait in hope!

Study: Know God/know hope? hosea 4:1-6:3

Tuesday – Read Hosea 12:7-12:14

In these verses we see God's people refuse to acknowledge their sin.

What particular sin does God expose in this accusation of His people [v.7]?

What is the response of God's people to His accusation [v.8]?

Is there a particular area of your life in which you currently stand in prideful rebellion against God's revealed will and declare your innocence?

Ask God to search your heart & expose your own prideful assumptions of innocence.

My Thoughts

God spoke about cheating and taking advantage of others! He talked about Jacob that even before he was born he cheated his brother and then after he was born he was very independent from God and very willful. The response of the people to God's accusations was that they did it on their own and they did not sin while doing it, they became rich on their own. Pride is a huge stumbling block for me at times when God wants to change my life, especially in this season of my life, I had to overcome pride. I had to become a brand new shape and in order to do that I needed to become willess, and responsive to the touch of the Master… sit on the potters table as responsive clay. I did not want to change, I did not want to give up my occupation, I wanted the success of the world more than I did the calling of God on my life. I kept on saying I was doing what I was doing to help people, but all along in my heart I wanted to succeed, I wanted to make a lot of money. I need to change, I need to be willing to be exactly what God wants me to even if it is not making money, even if it is an online ministry that He is shaping me for, even if it is different than anything I could ever imagine… I need to be willing…

Exhortation- The Shepherd's Communicated Love-Wisdom!

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Pastor Elliott

James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord, today I know most of us will face some kind of trial or testing.  It may be sickness of body, disappointment in a loved or trusted one, or some crisis of faith. But Father, I believe the biggest trial we will face today and everyday is to resist doing nothing.

Father, renew us all today in mind, spirit, and body. Renew us all in our resolve to serve You with all our hearts, souls, strengths, and minds.  I pray You will be glorified through our obedience to every detail of what we know to do according to Your Word and Will. Bless the faithful, O Lord our God. Convict and urge the spiritually lazy. Stir the soul of the procrastinator. All for Your glory and honor through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.

My Thoughts About This Verse:

Yes Lord Jesus, help us to use our time wisely today by Your Spirit and truth… so be it Jesus.

Yes it does produce perseverance in belief and strength in hope and so much AWE-GOD! Yesterday Bob called Directv and he told them we have to shut off our Directv and they said, you all have been great customers for years did we do something to offend you and Bob explained that he has to be a good steward and he was not sure he could pay for it next month, because he had lost his job… the person on the other end said: hold on for a minute… he came back on the phone and said we have credited your account with 220 dollars, so please use the Directv service for the next five months for free and then call us back after that and let us know how you are… Yes… if you honor God and persevere in doing what is right, He will work out every, every detail for you! AWE-GOD

#poiema Gospel Of John Study http://www.biltmorebaptist.org/poiema

http://www.biltmorebaptist.org/Poiema Wednesday 9:30 AM At Biltmore Baptist Church

John 1:35-51 The next day, John was there again, and two of his followers were with him. 36 When he saw Jesus walking by, he said, "Here is the Lamb of God!" 37 John's two followers heard him, and they went with Jesus. 38 When Jesus turned and saw them, he asked, "What do you want?" They answered, "Rabbi, where do you live?" The Hebrew word "Rabbi" means "Teacher." 39 Jesus replied, "Come and see!" It was already about four o'clock in the afternoon when they went with him and saw where he lived. So they stayed on for the rest of the day. 40 One of the two men who had heard John and had gone with Jesus was Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother and tell him, "We have found the Messiah!" The Hebrew word "Messiah" means the same as the Greek word "Christ." 42 Andrew brought his brother to Jesus. And when Jesus saw him, he said, "Simon son of John, you will be called Cephas." This name can be translated as "Peter."

Jesus Chooses Philip and Nathanael 43-44 The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. There he met Philip, who was from Bethsaida, the hometown of Andrew and Peter. Jesus said to Philip, "Come with me." 45 Philip then found Nathanael and said, "We have found the one that Moses and the Prophets wrote about. He is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth." 46 Nathanael asked, "Can anything good come from Nazareth?" Philip answered, "Come and see." 47 When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said, "Here is a true descendant of our ancestor Israel. And he isn't deceitful." 48 "How do you know me?" Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, "Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree." 49 Nathanael said, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God and the King of Israel!" 50 Jesus answered, "Did you believe me just because I said that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see something even greater. 51 I tell you for certain that you will see heaven open and God's angels going up and coming down on the Son of Man."

My Thoughts

Jesus sees them and asks them what are you looking for? What is it you want/wish for? They did not answer the question!! They said Jesus where do you live or teacher where do you live? It kind of says to me that they did not totally trust Jesus to open up to Him yet, they took the focus off themselves personally and put it on Jesus…. If God asked me that question right now I would say: I need your direction, I need the path of your will, I need you to open the doors that You want open in my life.

When Jesus said Come and See to John and He accepted that invitation with the other disciples it was the beginning of a three and ½ year adventure of their lives. Jesus said, Come and See and today He says that to us everyday, everyday in our daily relationship with Jesus, in our constant conversation with Him, it is a new adventure

QUOTES THAT INSPIRE GROWTH AND CHANGE

The great thing to remember is that, though our feelings come and go, His love for us does not. -- C. S. Lewis

-/\/\-----------------------------------------------------------------

\ / TODAY'S VERSE from HEARTLIGHT -- http://www.heartlight.org/

--\/------------------------------------------------------------------

VERSE:

For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.

-- 1 Peter 2:19

http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=1+Peter+2:19

THOUGHT:

Unjust suffering! Ouch, even the sound of those words sends a chill up and down my spine. Such a thing doesn't seem fair or appropriate -- and it isn't. Yet we have many brothers and sisters bearing up under pain and unjust suffering because of their commitment and loyalty to the only True God and to his Son, Jesus Christ. Wouldn't it be incredible if those of us who are not touched by terrible persecution or hardship would begin each day praying for those in our spiritual family who do face hardship, persecution, suffering, and mistreatment? As they display the grace of Christ to honor God in the face of such difficulty, let's pray that our Father will not only give them strength to endure, but that he will also deliver them soon!

PRAYER:

Holy and merciful Father, please bless your children today who suffer pain and hardship while displaying the grace of Jesus.

Whether these problems are because of persecution or because of life's difficulties, I pray that you strengthen my brothers and sisters who are suffering. But Father, I know the only permanent answer for this suffering is for Jesus' return, so please send him soon. In the name of the Coming Lord Jesus I pray. Amen.

http://www.heartlight.org/cgi-shl/todaysverse.cgi?day=20110125

*My THOUGHTS:

Jesus, I think of You, how you suffered so much and so unjustly for me, before you even knew me. I know that I have suffered unjustly too at times, but not like You, Jesus… the King of Heaven Who chose the way of suffering. It blesses me so when I think of how much You loved us, how you were betrayed by a kiss from a close, close disciple and you still went to the cross, you loved like you had never been hurt or betrayed. AWE-GOD! I do think that unjust suffering is the hardest to bear, when people suffer who don't deserve it, it stretches our faith like no other suffering. I think because we don't understand it with our finite minds. Unjust suffering is something we can't wrap our minds around and it stretches our faith-sharpens our belief. The finite mind just can't comprehend the infinite plan, especially when it comes to unjust suffering.

Exhortation- The Shepherd's Communicated Love-Wisdom!

To My Family:

I am an exhorter for God, I have the gift of exhortation given to me by God and it is through this that I in all humility and obedience write. This has been my place in this family, I have been an exhorter used by God, always the one that had to say the hard things God wanted said, to move this family in the direction of deliverance from the generational curse. God showed me despite the way it all looks, we can be the root of His infinite love planted right now to stop the Cycle in this Generational Curse…

I found a treasure yesterday, something God put in my hands for a time such as this. I can't believe I have had this treasure in my possession for years and did not see it; it was in a box of stuff that Dad left at my house years ago. It came out into the light last weekend as I have been going through old boxes, Oh My Gosh, I shudder as I think I almost threw it out… I went to toss it in the garbage and when I did, I saw a flash of white, I turned it and saw that someone had cut out magazine letters and glued them on the end of the VCR Tape: Cocuz… Immediately I knew that is something my dad would have done! So I set the VCR tape aside, that was a week ago! I put it under my TV stand and thought I need to check that out when I have time. Yesterday during all the family strife going on, towards the end of the day, Kiele found it and handed it to me: Grammy? What is this? Grammy… Let's look at it and see what it is…. Oh My Gosh! Talk about a treasure of God put in your hand for a time such as this! I sat with my granddaughter and watched my great-grandfather play on the beach!

Yesterday God set in motion the breaking of the generational Curse in our family by moving us forward in obedience to Him; us leaving the past behind and deciding to be a family that lives, laughs and loves together. We decided to leave behind all bitterness and hatred and cling to Jesus, dig our roots deeply in His Love. We communicated, some good, some bitter and at the end of the day, some decided to go and some decided to stay. This family is moving with God- from the past of what happened in our human conditions to the future in Christ-we are done; done with the bitterness, done with the strife, done with the hatred and deeply desiring to set a Godly family foundation for those behind us! Setting our stake in the ground, turning and fully facing our GOD and following after Him.

We decided as Jesus did, so therefore we are doing… He loved us in our weaknesses even though it hurt him to do so, cost Him His life. He was not bitter about our sins, He died for them. Jesus after He had been hurt-betrayed and beaten by us went to the cross and died for us. This King of Heaven came to earth and spent most of his time on this earth homeless and with nothing, only to be betrayed for silver that would eventually tarnish. He loved us like He had never been hurt or betrayed and because of this act of love, we live today in hope! He, This Jesus has spoken: "This is the time for the bitterness, strife, hatred to be done- quieted and shut up!" It is a time for this family to move on without the generational curse of enmity -this family is moving forward with God in His direction of healing and hope!

The miraculous treasure that God purposely saved to put in my hand yesterday, was my father's old reel to reel tapes that were put on a VCR tape. Incredible! On this tape was the family of our foundations, living, laughing, loving…. My great grandparents- grandma-grandpa … My Grandfather and My sweet Grandmother- My mom, My dad, My Great uncles… My Great aunts… all living, laughing and loving…I saw the foundation of our lives… it was good. The last scene on the VCR of my great-grandparents before the tragedy that hit our family was so sweet. My great grandfathers birthday party with My grandfather looking on over his shoulder as he blew out his birthday candles and all of the family, my mom, my dad and all of my brothers and sisters and family together around this table as the patriarch blew out the candles… playing and having fun together… living, laughing, loving….

Then the enemy struck our family, My great Aunt Alice killed my Great Grandparents that next weekend, Easter weekend…. Interestingly so… in a fit of physiological rage. Instead of all of us turning to God, some of our family turned on each other, pointing fingers of B- LAME! Brothers split from brothers… Aunt Alice was sentence to life in a mental ward, our family was on the news, shame came in, pain came in… it hurt so bad! I will never forget that day, I will never forget the pain, I will never forget the blood all over the walls, the press in our face and the shame that came in my soul. The enemy took advantage of this and a generational curse ensued, brothers in enmity against brothers… Great Uncle Bill and My Grandfather Lee split apart in anger- the pain from that as a child was awful, it messed so much with our family life, made it hard, so hard. Then Uncle Ted and Uncle Bill split, anger and family separation ensued and more hard times within the family, when brothers have enmity against a brother; the whole family suffers. My Great Uncle Bill died of a massive heart attack and my Pop Pops grieved like no other, he had not reconciled with his brother who lived right next store to him. After that my PopPops who had disowned my Great Aunt Alice, went to the mental ward and forgave her, was reconciled to her… what an impression that left on my soul. My Great Uncle Bills funeral, it was the saddest funeral ever, a family split down the center of the church, not speaking to each other and so much family strife ensued at that funeral, yelling and screaming and hateful things were said as my mom rushed us from there… heaping sadness upon sadness. Yet my Grandfather's heart was broken and he confessed to all of us, he began to break the cycle of enmity.

God showed me where this generational curse began one that is still affecting our family with brothers holding such bitterness toward brothers in my family line. This is the year God has said enough. No more bitterness! No more enmity. No more generational curse! This curse is ending!

As I sat and watched that VCR, I realized that we grew up in a home with a foundation of love, laughing and great times, caring and loving each other. I saw joy and family fun from the top Lee to the bottom Joe. I watched scenes of us as children at the lake, at home, at church, at play… things that brought my memory to life and saw great love and peace. I saw family joy. God spoke to my heart, He said, this is the foundation of your family, this is what I have intended for your family generations to be.

Since mom died, I have tried so hard to diffuse the bitterness that is deeply set in our family right after her death and to no avail for years I have listened to bitterness; you can't change a person who wants to sit in bitterness, only God can change a heart. I have spent most of my adult life listening to bitterness that doesn't really matter. Bitterness over stuff, money, rights that doesn't make a hill of beans difference with an eternal perspective. It all burns up!! You go to heaven with no stuff!!!!

My 2011 started at Finley's 1st birthday party. What Joy in that precious little one! What a gift she is to us! She is the next generation! God spoke to me that day and said: "stop chasing those who do not want to be caught, it was just an open door to allow bitterness and hatred to continue to infect this family." He said I was to separate myself from the bitterness and move forward into being a Godly foundation, a root of God's love in the real future… the future of this family is about these children and their families… celebrating with them living, laughing loving and caring…. Loving each other through the human condition, through weakness and being a family… Just like I saw in that VCR… generations of family celebrating Great Grandpa Peters birthday! Yesterday, God drove a stake in the ground of this family and said: "No more generational curse. It stops here." 2011! Done! Finished! WE are moving on, those of us in the family who want to love like Jesus loved, to live, to laugh and to love… this family is moving forward. This old VCR tape showed me that our foundations in this family were set in unconditional love, in joy and in care for one another. That is where it will be restored in Christ Jesus. We are moving forward, putting the past behind and stepping out in God's unconditional love and care. This family, those who decide to come, those who leave all the past, the bitterness and hatred behind, we will grow forward with God, with His wisdom, with His unconditional love. I only pray we all come, but those that don't will be left behind in God's capable hands and those that do… will live, laugh and love in His Presence from generation to generation. AWE-GOD!

This family has a bright future a great hope and an awesome inheritance in Christ Jesus. This is the most powerful thing we can do now as a family- being a pebble dropped in a pond that peacefully ripples the joy of family life, the love and encouragement of God from God and to each other. God Bless You Much!

"When fear shapes our lives safety becomes our god." Max Lucado

They were not available for God to use because they were not quiet enough to hear Him.

http://triumphoversuffering.com/ I uncovered a lot of hidden strongholds of exchanged lies I had in my mind. I replaced them for real freedom-truth,

Our occupations, our political adgendas are all keeping us from hearing and seeing the compassion of God, the Heart of God.

Battlefield Of The Mind By Joyce Meyer

This is really a spiritual principle of God at work. We can find the devil in the noise and the shouts. We can find the devil with big attractions to lead us astry. But God likes to speak in the still, small voice – the voice that not everyone will hear—the voice that only the committed will listen for.

My Thoughts About This:

I could not listen to the Presidents speech last night because I knew it would be more words, empty words full of political reteric. He is not truly hearing the heart of God, or seeing the real condition of this county. It is hard being unemployed one step from losing our home and looking around and seeing this country being painted from city to city with empty homes, empty bank accounts, empty businesses and our government can't see past their political adgendas to the heart of this country, to what truly is our reality. In our country, the political atmosphere of arrogance is trumping compassion- the essence of servant leadership! Jesus Change This In Us! #prayer

Exhortation- The Shepherd's Communicated Love-Wisdom!

It was so great to hear from you! Oh my gosh, you just have no idea how much we are traveling the same path. My husband lost his job December 27th ! It was such a shock… we were not ready for it! He has put in over 60 applications since then. I have tried to get a job for the last year, I have put in over 30 applications. No doors have opened yet. We have never filed for unemployment in our entire 32 years of marriage! But we had too, because we need to be able to get food! Our unemployment just started this week! I can completely relate to that human condition of wondering what God is up too. Everyday we have to get up and put all of our fears, hopes and expectations in God's hands and ask Him to use us in whatever way He can. All I can say is that we are learning a willessness and a trust in God like I have never had and God is not disappointing us. He is taking care of us ever step of the way. We have exactly what we need today. Our lives don't look a thing like what we had planned for them to look like… nothing. My husband is one of the most amazing contractors you would ever meet. He is trained, experienced and a great employee for anyone. I have 30 years of administrative skills and experience. We both can't get jobs! We never imagined we would be in this position…. Yet the last 3 years the construction business, our 30 year trade has hit bottom. We lost our business. Bob began traveling with other business and doing projects. In the last years, he has been laid off three times. Yet God keeps assuring us that He is with us, He is in this and that the position we have in Him has not changed, He is still in control even though we can't see a step ahead. He keeps encouraging us that He has a kingdom purpose in what He is growing us through. Not only for us, but for everyone around us, He is working out His Kingdom purposes through this trial. Honestly we have nothing left of this world, we lost our retirement, we lost our savings, we lost our health insurance, we lost our jobs… and everything is paid up until end of February and then there is nothing left. Yet there is everything left… Jesus is still with us. That is what He is trying to show us! We have flip-flopped our occupations with our calling to Him. He is our provider. Our bank accounts mean nothing. He is the Provider. WE are putting our hope and expectation in Him, we are learning a willessness that says show us more of You, Lord God… that knows the He is our Provider, that is teaching us how to walk with nothing, yet be completely satisfied and know we will be provided with everything we need each day. We are learning to live with joy in each day, despite the fact we are not in the "know" and that all of "our" dreams have died. We are learning to look beyond our situation to His face, to fully face our God and be His even if our situation is not what we planned. Little miracles keep happening, like the other day my husband called Directv and said we have to discontinue our service and they asked why and he said because I won't' be able to pay for another month, so I want to turn it off now, it is the right thing to do. So there was a pause on the phone and he came back on and said we have just credited your account for 5 free months because you have been such good long standing customers, call us back in 5 months and let us know how you are. Oh my gosh… that was just a miracle. We are learning to fight the good fight of faith not only to say we believe in God, but to actually believe that He has good Kingdom purposes at work in the unseen. WE are either going to believe Him or we are not and you have to choose that every day. You have to put aside the doubt, the fear of your future and believe that Your God is working in the unseen for your good and you have to be satisfied with the situation He has you in today, and be grateful that He has provided what you needed in your today. This past weekend, we got a check in the mail for 100 dollars, enough to give us food money and gas money for the week. We are a family who used to go to the grocery store and just pile in whatever we wanted in our cart, we have become a family now, who is realizing just how much excess we have lived in and we are grateful for the basics, God is using this trial in our lives, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I would not change it, I have grown more in love with God in the last month, gotten to see more of Him, gotten to see more of me, made changes in my heart that I would never have seen without this trial.. so my advice is to roll with it… your first step out of bed in the morning should be down… hit your knees, bow before God, lay your life willessly at His feet and be in AWE of Him Who is in complete control of your life and WHO will take care of you! Catch you Saturday!

Exhortation- The Shepherd's Communicated Love-Wisdom!

Thanks! We both have complete peace, at first it was very hard but as we worked through it we found that no matter what kind of situation we found ourselves in, the common denominator had not changed! God was with us! He has a purpose in allowing this and it is good. I had that same feeling… of being punished… don't chase it… it is not the truth. God does not punish! You have to keep saying to yourself… God Loves Me… say, listen to songs that say it, read the word the says it… God is in this, we are the happiest we have ever been. We used to go out and spend 100 dollars on a meal eating out… and now we are managing a week on 50 dollars… our life situation has changed, but the Lord of the situation has not… He is teaching us so much and I appreciate that He cares enough about us to do that…. but punishing no… that is not the nature of Jesus, Jesus came to take our punishment, to take the stripes upon His back for our sins… He does not punish so tell the liar to shut up… God loves you, He is allowing this to touch your life with great significance… the best thing to do from what I am learning is to seek Him to know Him more, to be changed by this trial to what He wills, instead of focusing on your situation and asking Him to change it, focus on God and the situation, it work out when He wants, by His will. I find that this Sovereign Will in play was hard to swallow, my whole life changed, but I swallowed it because God's sovereign will is never far from His Infinite Love, the two go hand in hand… So cling tightly to His Him, dig your roots deeper in His love… His Kingdom purpose is at work… and you know what… LOL… it is all eventually good! Take Care… praying for you too, been praying for you all week!

Worthy News Brief @worthyemail.com

Joel 2:11-13 The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it? "Now, therefore," says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.

In this prophetic passage the critical question is immediately followed by the powerfully convicting answer. Joel prophesies the Day of the Lord, and asks, "Who can endure it?" The next word "therefore", is followed by the prophet's urgent counsel: "Turn to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping and with mourning!" Real repentance -- not some superficial, wimpy, "I'm sorry God", but a deep, sorrowful, heart wrenching cry with fasting, that means business and recognizes the terrible danger ahead -- is what is required.

I have to ask myself, how willing am I to enter into this depth of repentance in order to restore, or deepen my relationship with my Lord, or to cry out in identification with a dying world full of lost souls. Are my emotions and my soul willing to be passionately engaged with the grim reality in and around me? How does this affect my prayer life? or my attitude toward my sins? As I look at this world, I clearly see the Day of the Lord looming on the horizon. This prophecy may never be more applicable than it is now, in our very day.

Kimberly, let's take a serious account of things, and allow ourselves to be truly, profoundly moved by what we find. If, as the Lord told us, those that mourn are blessed, then let's not shrink back from what we see in ourselves and in the world around us.."There is a time to mourn"...the Lord will be rejoicing. For He is seeking those who will recognize and deeply repent of their sin...and He longs to forgive and restore us.

January 26, 2011 Session Notes:

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

In the old testament, the priests ate the showbread off the altar everyday and the bread was replaced. Jesus said He was the Bread Of Life, an offering done once for all. The old way of atonement Jesus fulfilled-satisfied as the Bread Of Life.

John 6:35-40

35 Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But you haven't believed in me even though you have seen me. 37 However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. 38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will. 39 And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. 40 For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day."

Yes, Lord of My Life, Today, I am aware and very grateful for my salvation, knowing it gives me complete access to My Father God and His Kingdom purposes. AWE-GOD!

Our God is so cool! Everything looks like the ship is going down, then He hands you a little miracle for your day to keep your hope alive. Sweet! Today we called DirectTV to turn it off because we knew we would not have the money to pay for another month. We told them that Bob lost his job and they said that we have been customers for a very long time and they did not want to lose us, so they gave us five free months and said to check back with them then. Following THEE Leader ~ Hosea 6:4-11;12-14:9

Monday – Read Hosea 11:12-12:6

In these verses we find a brief synopsis of Israel's history as seen through one of her patriarchs. Like Jacob, Israel has been struggling for blessing throughout their history.

What does the prophet say Israel must do to live under the blessings of God [v.6a]?

What will it look like for Israel to return to the Lord God Almighty [v.6b]?

Are you seeking to live under the blessing of God by maintaining love & justice [v.6]?

Are you living in dependence upon God by waiting for Him to return to you [v.6]?

My Thoughts About These Verses:

To live under the blessings of God, we have to find that place of willessness under the Authority of God, a place of humble submission, respectful-awe and heart-felt obedience.

Yes, I am waiting, putting all my hopes and expectations in God. Waiting in hope!

Sometimes when I think of what it means to return to God, I think it means to fully face God. I think we get off on our own tangents and go off on our own and our backs are too Gdo's will, but when we are willess, we are fully facing God's Sovereign Will in complete dependence upon Him and our lives reflect the light of His face!

Hosea 12:6 Therefore return to your God! Hold fast to love and mercy, to righteousness and justice, and wait [expectantly] for your God continually.

What one generation tolerates, the next normalizes. What one generation normalizes the next celebrates in. Break The Cycle! Quote By Pastor Todd Mullins

My Thoughts About This Quote:

Our family (my 3 sisters and two brothers) is like a ship wrecked on the rocks in the inlet and it is fast going down. There is so much bitterness, trash talk and hurt being passed out because of what my dad did with his will. Last week I felt like just giving up on it all and just walking away from the lot of them. I just did not want to go down with that ship, so I decided I was bailing out, I could not win trying to be a peacemaker in this ship wreck! But after the sermon Sunday, I am in there fighting the fight again, this time with God holding my hands up as I begin once again to bail out the bitter water and by the help of Jesus Christ, hope huge that one day the ship will be restored and sail again on peaceful waters!

Kimberly, pomp...or circumstance?

Romans 16:25-27 Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

In the year 1920, young Oswald Smith stood before the examining board for the selection of missionaries. He had wanted to be a missionary for as long as he could remember, and for all that time had been crying out to God that He might open a door for him to do so. Finally, his time had come. There he stood awaiting his destiny. His long-awaited was about to come..."No." Smith had not met the missionary board's qualifications and was turned down for service. After a time of disappointment, he decided that if he couldn't be a missionary, he would build a church which would raise up some. And that is precisely what he did. The church he planted sent out more missionaries than any other church of its time. And God used Oswald Smith mightily for His Kingdom. This is what happens when we don't let our circumstances rule us. We will always be victorious. Kimberly, have you been disappointed recently? Not all our hopes and expectations come to pass like we think they should. Let's not let it get us down. Surely God has something better! Continue to seek. Continue to knock. Continue to ask. Continue to get revelation. We need to be walking in victory! There's so much work to be done!!

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac Shining 4-Him-Always-4Ever!*

Have I been disappointed lately! OMGFR? That is an understatement! All I have known lately is disappointment! It is the human condition! People who hurt, hurt other people, people who are greedy, hurt other people, people who are bitter, hurt other people, people whose lives are on the throne of their life, hurt other people, companies who look out for their own well being and put the almighty dollar 1st, hurt other people; YES I have been disappointed lately, but the truth is, the one Who matters most, the One Who is simply my significant has not disappointed me. Jesus Christ has been with me in comfort, strength, wisdom, grace, mercy and provision and has faithfully without any conditions loved me. So Therefore, earthly disappointment has no rule over me… Jesus does.

#poiema Gospel Of John Study http://www.biltmorebaptist.org/poiema/

John 1:6-18

There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.(A) 7This man came to witness, that he might testify of the Light, that all men might believe in it [adhere to it, trust it, and rely upon it] through him. 8He was not the Light himself, but came that he might bear witness regarding the Light. 9There it was--the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illumines every person.(B) 10He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him]. 11He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own--His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. 12But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--(C) 13Who owe their birth neither to [a]bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!] 14And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.(D) 15John testified about Him and cried out, This was He of Whom I said, He Who comes after me has priority over me, for He was before me. [He takes rank above me, for He existed before I did. He has advanced before me, because He is my Chief.] 16For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. 17For while the Law was given through Moses, grace ([b]unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ.(E) 18No man has ever seen God at any time; the only [c]unique Son, or [d]the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].(F)

My Thoughts About These Verses:

John The Baptist: Was a Nazirite and because of that he vowed to do many things: He did not touch a dead body and that showed his affections were on the altar to God. He did not drink wine and that showed that all his appetites were under the submission to God. His long hair was a sign of submission and humility for a man. It was a very high standard of consecration.

Luke 7:26-28 Jesus talked about John The Baptist.

Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. 27 John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say, 'Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way before you.'[a] 28 I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of God is greater than he is!"

My Thoughts About These Verses:

John prepared a way to the Lord, a way of holiness and submission to God. John showed us a high standard of consecration to God. Jesus thought very highly of John and He spoke of Johns humility, that even the least person in the Kingdom is greater than he.

Mark 6:23-25 (New King James Version)

23 He also swore to her, "Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half my kingdom." 24 So she went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?" And she said, "The head of John the Baptist!"

25 Immediately she came in with haste to the king and asked, saying, "I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter."

Matthew 17:12-14 (New King James Version)

12 But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands." 13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist

Matthew Henry Commentary

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Bible is available in the Public Domain.

John the Baptist came to bear witness concerning Jesus. Nothing more fully shows the darkness of men's minds, than that when the Light had appeared, there needed a witness to call attention to it. Christ was the true Light; that great Light which deserves to be called so. By his Spirit and grace he enlightens all that are enlightened to salvation; and those that are not enlightened by him, perish in darkness. Christ was in the world when he took our nature upon him, and dwelt among us. The Son of the Highest was here in this lower world. He was in the world, but not of it. He came to save a lost world, because it was a world of his own making. Yet the world knew him not. When he comes as a Judge, the world shall know him. Many say that they are Christ's own, yet do not receive him, because they will not part with their sins, nor have him to reign over them. All the children of God are born again. This new birth is through the word of God as the means, 1Pe 1:23, and by the Spirit of God as the Author. By his Divine presence Christ always was in the world. But now that the fulness of time was come, he was, after another manner, God manifested in the flesh. But observe the beams of his Divine glory, which darted through this veil of flesh. Men discover their weaknesses to those most familiar with them, but it was not so with Christ; those most intimate with him saw most of his glory. Although he was in the form of a servant, as to outward circumstances, yet, in respect of graces, his form was like the Son of God His Divine glory appeared in the holiness of his doctrine, and in his miracles. He was full of grace, fully acceptable to his Father, therefore qualified to plead for us; and full of truth, fully aware of the things he was to reveal. (Jn 1:15-18)

John disowns himself to be the Christ, who was now expected and waited for. He came in the spirit and power of Elias, but he was not the person of Elias. John was not that Prophet whom Moses said the Lord would raise up to them of their brethren, like unto him. He was not such a prophet as they expected, who would rescue them from the Romans. He gave such an account of himself, as might excite and awaken them to hearken to him. He baptized the people with water as a profession of

repentance, and as an outward sign of the spiritual blessings to be conferred on them by the Messiah, who was in the midst of them, though they knew him not, and to whom he was unworthy to render the meanest service. (Jn 1:29-36)

My Thoughts About These Verses:

His birth was prophesied in the scriptures as one who would foretell the message of the coming Messiah. His birth was a miracle, as He was born to people who were past the age of being able to have children. HE consecrated Himself to God and in many ways, disciplined himself to stay pure ni body and soul. He was a Nazirite, one of three spoken about in the New Testament. Being a Nazirite was a very high standard of consecration. He abstained from wine to show that all his appetites were under submission to God. His long hair was a sign of extreme submission and humility.

The Testimony of John the Baptist John 1:19-29

This was John's testimony when the Jewish leaders sent priests and Temple assistants[a] from Jerusalem to ask John, "Who are you?" 20 He came right out and said, "I am not the Messiah."

21 "Well then, who are you?" they asked. "Are you Elijah?" "No," he replied. "Are you the Prophet we are expecting?"[b] "No." 22 "Then who are you? We need an answer for those who sent us. What do you have to say about yourself?" 23 John replied in the words of the prophet Isaiah: "I am a voice shouting in the wilderness, 'Clear the way for the Lord's coming!'"[c] 24 Then the Pharisees who had been sent 25 asked him, "If you aren't the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet, what right do you have to baptize?" 26 John told them, "I baptize with[d] water, but right here in the crowd is someone you do not recognize. 27 Though his ministry follows mine, I'm not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandal." 28 This encounter took place in Bethany, an area east of the Jordan River, where John was baptizing.

Jesus, the Lamb of God

John 1: 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 He is the one I was talking about when I said, 'A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.' 31 I did not recognize him as the Messiah, but I have been baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel."

32 Then John testified, "I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him. 33 I didn't know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, 'The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.[e]"

Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one who cries: Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord [clear away the obstacles]; make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God!(A)

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac Shining 4-Him-Always-4Ever!*

To me John was just amazing in humility because He was so in AWE of God! His AWE-God brought forth a great humility in Him. John was quoting the truth from the Word about Who He was and Whom had sent Him. He was sent by God the Father to prepare the way for Jesus the Son of God. To be a messenger, a light of truth to the path of Jesus.

VS 27-29-34 Statement of Humility and Lordship

I am not even worthy to be His slave- Look the lamb of God- Not even worthy to tie his sandals- He is the Chosen of God. John the Baptist had a huge AWE of God! He saw Jesus in the crowd as the Pharisees questioned him and then after He baptized Jesus, he proclaimed to all the Jesus was the sacrificial lamb of God.

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

1 John 2:15-17  15 Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.
16 For everything that belongs to the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one's lifestyle—is not from the Father, but is from the world.
17 And the world with its lust is passing away, but the one who does God's will remain forever.

…the programs that we watch today are nothing compared to the "good ol' family values" progamming of the 1950's. The "eyes are the windows of the soul" and we should make sure our soul has a balanced diet that strengthens our relationship with our Creator, not weakens it. Serving others strengthens our spirit. Everyone I know who volunteers their time and resources to worthy causes that benefit the Kingdom of God are strong in their spirit. I am not saying we should throw our televisions, video games and electronics in the garbage. I am suggesting that there needs to be balance in our life. There are very few things we see on TV that build us up spiritually. Entertainment has its place, but how is the Kingdom of God benefiting from an unworthy diversion? I pray God will give you His plan for your day. All that He does in and through you will last forever. Yield this day to HIM. Let Him balance your life with His will. There will be time for everything that is worthy. Pastor Elliott

My Thoughts About These Verses:

So very true! This past weekend I was listening to a sermon about this very thing on how we bring so much into our homes that we need to protect our children from, we need to fight the good fight of faith by sometimes just turning off the TV. At the end He said this very convicting statement: What one generation tolerates, the next normalizes. What one generation normalizes the next celebrates in. Break The Cycle!
