Isaiah 26:3-4

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.

Developing My AWE-GOD With An Attitude Of Gratitude!

2012 AWE-GOD Gratefulness! Today I want to express my gratefulness to God for His steadfast strength that is always flowing on the wings of our trust. As I trust You, Faithful AWE-Father God, You strengthen my mind in Your Peace that surpasses every thought and creates a Holy Ground in my mind, a soil of clarified God-Truth that is stable and steadfast! AWE-Father God! Thank you!

If you love darkness, and are satisfied to dwell in gloom and misery, then be content with little faith; but if you love the sunshine, and would sing songs of rejoicing, covet earnestly this best gift, "great faith." Charles Spurgeon

leadership wisdom from Ron edmondston blog

One of the most frequent criticisms I receive from young leaders about their organizations is that they aren't given adequate responsibly or authority. They are handed a set of tasks to complete, but they don't feel they have a part in creating the big picture for the organization. Since most of the young leaders I talk to are in ministry, this means it's happening in the church too.

Do you want to lead a successful organization (church) that attracts leaders? Here's my best advice:

Hand out visions more than you assign tasks.

In order for the organization to be successful, you'll need to attract leaders. You know that, right? You need to know something about leaders and potential leaders.

Leaders want to work towards a vision, more than they want complete a set of tasks.

Leaders don't get excited about checklists and assignments.

Leaders want to join a great vision, then help develop the tasks to accomplish it.

Leaders get excited about faith-stretching, bigger-than-life, jaw-dropping acts of courage. That's the kind of vision they want to believe in and follow. "To do" list often gets in the way of that kind of fun. Visions excite them, details to complete them don't.

So, if you want to create a successful organization, recruit leaders, hand them a big vision, with lots of room on the implementation side, then allow them to choose how they will accomplish that vision.

Hand them the vision, then get out of their way and let them do their work.

That doesn't mean your work is over. They'll need your help along the way. They'll still need your help to develop structure, discipline and follow through. But that's way different than handing them a set of tasks. That's practicing good leadership and delegation skills. (You can read 4 Critical Aspects of Healthy Delegation HERE.)

I realize this is especially hard for perfectionist leaders who want to control every outcome. (Leaders like me; just being honest.) You'll have to take a risk on the people you've recruited to lead and discipline yourself to let them work in their own way. You'll get burned a few times, but overall, you'll find more success when you:

Paint big visions…not specific tasks…

When you do this you'll attract and develop more leaders and a more successful organization will be built and sustained.

How are you at releasing your vision to others?

Would you rather be handed a vision or a set of tasks to be completed?

My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

I would rather be handed a clear vision by a leader impassioned by the heart of God than be assigned to doing a task week after week without knowing the purpose of it! Recently a leader made a change in the how we were doing a ministry act and I have tried to follow and go with this change, but I am frustrated by it. I think the reason why I am frustrated by it is because I feel this change, changed the feel of the vision of the ministry and I need to hear the vision again so I can realign myself with it and be less frustrated with this change of technique. I think what is my purpose now and if I am thinking that, that means the change in technique needed to be accompanied by a renewed vision imparted. I would rather have had the vision imparted to me 1st before the change in ministry technique, because then I might understand the purpose of it better. Because for me this change in ministry technique has changed the purpose of the ministry I was tasked to and it puts a question about the vision in my mind and I think that is probably why I feel frustration.

Disciplined Disciple

"Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training."  I Corinthians 9:25

Discipline is a prerequisite for a disciple of Jesus Christ. A wise disciplined person knows how to stay focused on the most important, and trusts other urgent matters will take care of themselves in the right time. Paul uses the illustration of athletic training to motivate us to discipline. A compelling motivation for the athlete is the reward at the end.
The reward at the finish line makes worthwhile the sometimes painful workout process and regimented routine. This is why we memorize scripture now, for wisdom later. We exercise now, for energy later. We rise early now in prayer, for peace later. We give generously now, for rewards later. Discipline in the now creates benefits for the future.
"Since an overseer manages God's household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain. Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined." Titus 1:7-8
Discipline becomes a habit of life when there are clearly defined goals and steps to achieve them. Discipline provides laser beam focus through structure and accountability. However, it is not all altruistic, there is progress and fruit along the way to enjoy. You feed discipline when you are able to enjoy its fruit with like-minded friends.
Disciplined people make discipline infectious. Surround yourself with people of discipline and you will become better disciplined. A parent, friend, mentor, teacher and other role models can coach and encourage you through a disciplined process. Disciples are disciplined and people who are disciplined can be effective disciples of Jesus Christ.
"For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline" (2 Timothy 1:7).
Think On This Question From Boyd Bailey: What areas of my life can I apply discipline to better reflect being a disciple of Christ?

As my mind tumbles over its "what if scenarios", I hear that familiar-peaceful still small voice of my Savior King, as He breaks in on my crazy mind revelry with His Voice of Truth!

Joyce Meyer: Promises for Your Everyday Life - a Daily Devotional

Proverbs 27:17 17Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend [to show rage or worthy purpose].

Appreciate Honesty from Other People By Joyce Meyer

Everyone loves compliments, but very few know how to handle constructive criticism. No one likes to be wrong, which makes it hard when people are uncomfortably honest with us.

But we need to be thankful for honesty in other people. I once heard someone say, "Only two people will tell you the truth about yourself: someone who is angry with you and someone who loves you very much." God uses both types in our lives, but He especially uses the honesty of friends and loved ones.

When someone can, in love, honestly show you how you can improve, the results will be so much more valuable than empty, ego-stroking compliments. It's this kind of relationship that the Bible describes as 'iron sharpening iron.'

I urge you to be thankful for people who tell you the truth about yourself, even if it's not what you want to hear.

When you hear the truth, especially something you weren't aware of, you can change. Ultimately, their honesty will make you a better person.

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You for placing truly honest people in my life. Their honesty may make me uncomfortable at times, but I know that when I listen to them, You can help me become a better person.

My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

It is so true that we rarely hear honesty and I believe it is a lost art in our generation in how to Godly accept the "iron that sharpens iron" truth from someone who loves us. There are few people who dare to tell the whole truth to others, to speak the fullness of truth in love. Sad commentary on our generation and we need to change that, it begins with us. Breaking down the walls of isolation and encouraging Christian community in our lives from person to person will bring about the "iron that sharpens iron"! Bringing back into our lives the fullness of truth spoken in "unconditional love" will crush our isolation patterns, shatter shallow relationships and deepen our Christian community with each other from home to home and heart to heart. Purifying our motives from human progress to kingdom of God advancement engages us with God's passion for people, giving us a Godly appeal, an "Iron love that sharpens and Iron Truth in our lives. Iron sharpens iron, let it be so Lord Jesus in Your Bride. Sharpen and deepen our relationships with each other, draw us past the surface, "tickle my ears" kind of relationships that stays in the shallow end of the community pool. Jesus draw us out into the deep where our feet can't touch familiar ground and we are depending upon Your Spirit and Truth. Change the isolation in us, exchange it for deep meaningful relationship founded upon the truth that sets us free. Iron sharpens Iron! Let it be so in us! AMEN!

YOU VERSION READING PLAN- THOUGHTS AS I READ:

Luke Chapter 6

Pharisees: Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath- Religiosity

Jesus: The Son of man is worthy of the Sabbath

Pharisees: Motive to accuse Jesus

Jesus: Healed out of compassion then used it to teaching

Do you save life or destroy it?

Pharisees were furious because they held on to the "rights" of their religiosity and this drove them to finding ways to get rid of Jesus.

All the people tried to touch Jesus because Power was coming from HIM and healing them all

Bless are you who hunger, you will be satisfied. Jesus is the only true satisfaction.

Don't live for a reward on earth, live for a reward in heaven, the only kind of reward that will last.

There is no fame on earth that will last.

Pray for those who mistreat you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other

Do to others as you would have them do to you. If you love those who love you, that is easy. Love the sinners, because God loves them. There is not a person on earth that God does not love. Hear His Heart Today

Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven. With the measure that you use, it will be measured to you.

Do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.Whatever is in your heart, your mouth will speak

When the trials flood in and your perfect plan crashes down, will your heart stand - is it well built on a God Foundation!?

Luke 6:19

And all the multitude were seeking to touch Him, for healing power was all the while going forth from Him and curing them all [[d]saving them from severe illnesses or calamities].

My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

This verse really puts an image in my heart of Jesus. I can see people pushing their way to Jesus, knowing that if they touched Him, they would be healed. They believed that much! Do I? Do I press in until I touch the heart of Jesus, until I step into the flow of His Omnipresence? Jesus' healing compassion just flowed out of HIM, His Power is Omnipresent even today through His Holy Spirit, as we seek to touch Him from our hearts to His hearts. All they had to do was touch Jesus and they were healed and by His Holy Spirit, His Omnipresence with us today, let it be so as we pray for us and others! Let it be so in us today, heal us Jesus, align us perfectly in Your Will for us that we might live out our today in Holy Alignment with Your Omnipotent Omnipresence in perfect pace with Your Kingdom Provision-Promises-Purpose. Lord may we have relationships that touch Your Spirit with great faith, believing completely in You and knowing Your Power in our lives! Jesus may we press to hear Your Voice, to know what matters to Your heart today. Father God may we be called to You 1st, and with all diligence find our position in Your Grace today and be a feed of Your Infinite Love to all those around us. Oh Triune God, we seek to touch You today Spirit To spirit and Heart To heart, we diligently pursue a constant connection with WHO You are and from moment we choose to press through our cultural say so and rest upon the Holy Ground of Your Truth, where we can develop a respectful-humble AWE of YOU that will carrying us through our day into Your Omnipotent Omnipresence!
