2012 AWE-GOD Gratefulness! Today I want to express my gratefulness to God for His fairness, His justice. I am so thankful that everything about You, Lord God is just and fair. I am grateful for Your Character of fairness and how it is clearly, clearly seen in Your Mercy. You are a great and a just God and I hope I never take that for granted. You will make all things just as You have justified us by your Son Jesus Christ. I love YOU Lord, I am grateful that You are always fair with me, that YOU always balance all things in my life with Your Justice! #AWE-GOD

"God knows the way He taketh," even if for the moment we do not.
Our perspective in our situation changes in our hard place when we realize the Lord has either place us there or allowed us to be there for a Kingdom purpose known only by HIM.
Fear not, little flock, whatever your lot; He enters all rooms, "The doors being shut." He never forsakes, He never is gone, So count on His presence in darkness and dawn. (Only Believe by Daniel Reader)
We can be locked in by the consequences of sin, but God is never locked out.
God does impossible feats. Never fear because God's Will does not put you in a situation where His Presence does not sustain you.
1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, do not be amazed and bewildered at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test your quality, as though something strange (unusual and alien to you and your position) were befalling you. But insofar as you are sharing Christ's sufferings, rejoice, so that when His glory [full of radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may also rejoice with triumph [exultantly].
1 Peter 4:12 "Christians shouldn't be surprised when in seeking to do God's Will, we find ourselves trapped in painful, frightening, difficult, or impossible situations. Robert J. Morgan
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulations and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]
It is good to remind yourself as you are "growing through" difficult situations that it is God who has purposefully allowed you to be there.
If you are in a situation where you don't understand, just wait on God, because the Holy Spirit is God's Interpreter and He will eventually clarify it!

First, He brought me here, it is by His will that I am in this strait place; in that fact I will rest.
Next, He will keep me here in His love, and give me grace to behave as His child.
Then, He will make the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He intends me to learn, and working in me the grace He means to bestow
Last, in His good time He can bring me out again—how and when He knows

2 Timothy 1:6 That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination]. (Amplified Bible)
Stir Yourself Up!
God's love is unconditional and everlasting. I remember how amazed and excited I was when He revealed His love to me. I felt like I was going to burst!
But after awhile, I got used to the fact that God loves me, and I didn't feel the same passion.
Are you experiencing the same thing? If so, I believe there is something you can do about it.
Paul told Timothy to stir himself up, to fan the flame and rekindle the embers of the fire he once had. Paul's message to Timothy is God's message to you today: Stir yourself up! Stop living life being tired of the "same old, same old."
We need to remember this: Passion is a decision about how we will approach life before it becomes a feeling.
So make a decision today to wake up every morning excited about the relationship you have with your Creator. Stir yourself up and live amazed by Him!
Prayer Starter: God, I want to always be amazed by You! I will not live without passion. Knowing You is amazing, and I choose now to life with passionate about my relationship with You.
My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J
So True! I believe my passion for God is stirred up daily by my AWE of HIM. The more I learn about God and listen for His revelations, the more my AWE is developed. The greater my AWE of God, the more passion I walk with in my relationship with HIM.

The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He business Himself with his every step]. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him.
Jesus I pray You grasp Moses hand today, support him in his every step with your restoring strength and uphold him with your healing power

Philippians 2:16
Holding out [to it] and offering [to all men] the Word of Life, so that in the day of Christ I may have something of which exultantly to rejoice and glory in that I did not run my race in vain or spend my labor to no purpose
A.pply!
The Word of God is at the center of our purpose. Every day I need to be offering it to everyone in my life path. I can offer it through my attitudes, my smile, my speech, my actions and reactions. When I live in the Light of the Word of God there is always joy and glory. I can not glow God's Glory without His Word alive in and through me. The purpose that is found in the Word of God is translated into great purpose in all my life

Philippians 2:17-21
Even if [my lifeblood] must be poured out as a libation on the sacrificial offering of your faith [to God], still I am glad [to do it] and congratulate you all on [your share in] it. But I hope and trust in the Lord Jesus soon to send Timothy to you, so that I may also be encouraged and cheered by learning news of you. For I have no one like him [no one of kindred a spirit] who will be so genuinely interested in your welfare and devoted to your interests. For the others all seek [to advance] their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) But Timothy's tested worth you know, how as a son with his father he has toiled with me zealously in [serving and helping to advance] the good news (the Gospel)
A.pply!
Libation: The act of pouring a liquid to a God.
He was totally surrendered to God even to the point of pouring out of his own blood, sounds familiar doesn't it, He totally reflected the heart of Christ. This was his heart motive pouring out through words and then actions, because he did end up giving His life.
I love the "team heart" in this passage, as he acknowledges that he is not in this alone and that he is encouraged and cheered on by others service to God. He recognizes it and he encourages it.
He talks about Timothy in a way that I think all people who are servant leaders hope to be talked about, hope to have this kind of reputation in Christ. I know I do.
He talks about Timothy being the kind of servant-leader who is genuinely interested in the wellbeing, interests, happiness of others.
I think in order for me to do this like Timothy did, I have to be connected to You, AWE-GOD 1st and my vertical relationship with YOU needs to be one of genuine worship, where I am in YOUR Presence and I am truly there, truly focused on YOU.

Hope you are having a great Wednesday everyone! I am enjoying Philippians 2 today because it speaks a lot about having a "team heart"! I am so grateful to be "on the team" with you all in the online campus ministry!
Philippians 2:17-21
I love the "team heart" I see in this servant leader. His focus is truly on others first. He is encouraging, kind and recognizes their contribution in what he is able to do for God. He values a "kindred team spirit" in Timothy because of the genuine interest Timothy has for his wellbeing, interests, happiness, benefit. He admires Timothy for being a "team player" who is 1st serving the interests of others, placing a high value on what God has called them too. He talks about Timothy like he is a servant leader with a "team heart" that puts a high value on the plans of others and highly respects-esteems what God has called them too, even above his own God given tasks. Pretty cool example these forefathers have left for us to live like!

Oh how I would love to be a Timothy, Lord God and how I would love to have a Timothy encouraging me. It seemed like he blessed Paul so much. You usually call us to something that is on YOUR heart Lord God and usually it is not alone, it is with Your Family. I am a part of a team in my online ministry and I hope and pray that You would give me the heart of Paul and the actions of Timothy, that I might be a blessing, an encouragement and put others above myself at all times, looking out for their happiness 1st. Jesus! Let it be so in me.

The seven initiatives of focus are:
Impressions – We need to consider how we present ourselves to visitors. From the moment a person thinks "church" for the first time, until they are no longer considered a visitor, what impression are we making with them?
Intergenerational – We are a multi-generational church, but we need to move toward intergenerational ministry. We need young people learning from older people. We need older people learning from younger people. We need to do life together with all ages. We have much to offer each other.
Discipleship – We need to figure out how best to help people be more like Jesus. This is obviously the goal of every church, but I want us to consider how to do it with more intentionality than ever before.
Stewardship – God has blessed Immanuel with tremendous resources. Our facilities, our location, and our people are incredible assets. We need to find ways to use what God has given us even more for the glory of God.
College – Our 22 acre campus is located footsteps away from the University of Kentucky and other local colleges and universities. To not be actively investing in the tens of thousands of students in our vicinity would seem to be a sin. (He who knows the good he ought to do…). We have a mission field in our backyard that can literally play a part in changing the world.
Prayer – Immanuel is a praying church, but I've never known anyone who was felt they were praying enough. I want my ministry here to be rooted in prayer. I want to see God do things which could only be done by God's intervention. Let God's people pray!
Missions/Community Investment – I believe a healthy church is a going church. We need to leave the comfort of our Sunday seats and hit the streets of Lexington. We are going to explore the options available to us to partner with existing ministries in our community. We are exploring options to be involved around the world. We want to be known as a church on the move in missions, making a huge impact in our community.
With each of these initiatives I've formed (or am forming) an initiative team with the intent of exploring ways Immanuel can grow in each of these areas. These teams will have a volunteer leader. Several will have appropriate staff members assigned to them. I will not be "doing" this work, but available to help them as needed. One key to this working is it gets more people involved in the process and builds energy as they explore new ideas.
To aid in brainstorming, I'm challenging the teams leading each of these to think in terms of:
Immediate – In each of these areas we need some quick "wins". To keep momentum in these areas growing in the church, we need people to see some movement toward each of these. What are some things we can do quickly to realize growth in each of these initiatives?
Midrange – What are some things we can do in the next few months to a year to move each of these initiatives forward?
Longterm – What are things we can suggest as longterm ideas? These may not happen for a year or more, but we can set them in our sights and work towards them?
Temporary – These are usually one term or short-term commitment projects. They aren't likely to be repeated. They can be doing a one day event or one series of days, but they aren't expected to continue forever.
Permanent – These are changes that, for the foreseeable future, will become part of the culture of Immanuel.
I've been asked for specifics for each of these, and frankly, I'm hesitant to do that. I like for teams I appoint to start with blank slates and have freedom to dream on their own. That way they own the vision. I have a list of my own and I'll be sharing them along the way with the teams, but I want to make sure they understand what I'm asking them to do, then release them to brainstorm. We are just getting started with this process and it is not expected to be a quick process. Some will move faster than others. That's expected.
As with other posts in this transition process, I'm simply sharing these to help others as they think through transitions needed in their own ministry setting.
What questions do you have about this process?
My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J
Intergenerational! I love, love, love that you put that in as an initiative. I would love to see God trump our cultural trends in the Bride of Christ by putting an end to two ages where people are made to feel "invisible" and of lesser value by our culture and also in many churches…. That is middle school age and senior age. May God bless you huge in this and may your church start a national trend to shatter the "invisible" and make
all people feel valued and needed.
Ben Dau ·
Ron, I am curious what prayer looks like in your schedule. How much time do you spend in prayer daily/weekly? Being a small church pastor, I have the luxury of praying a lot, but I have always been curious of how pastors of larger churches do it. Thanks for your reply!
I hope you don't mind, if I add a thought on your question: I think for me God is asking me to learn to cling tighter to HIM in my prayer life, by learning what it is like to have a "constant conversation" with Him during the day. Relationship with God sometimes demands a deeper dependence, and in doing that I find myself taking regular Omnipresent Reality Checks, and breaking down the compartmentalizing I did for so many years where God could be a part of this, but I did not need Him to be a part of that!

****My Prayer! For The Guatemala Mission Team – Pastor Kevin & Julie! I Place All My Expectation In You, Almighty God!*****
Psalm 62:5 (amplified) My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.
Psalm 18: 7-13 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. 8 Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. 9 He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet. 10 He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind. 11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—the dark rain clouds of the sky. 12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning. 13 The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today
Pastor Elliott!
Psalm 16:8-11
8 I keep the LORD in mind always. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my spirit rejoices; my body also rests securely.
10 For You will not abandon me to Sheol; You will not allow Your Faithful One to see decay.
11 You reveal the path of life to me; in Your presence is abundant joy; in Your right hand are eternal pleasures.
Dear Bob and Kim,
Do you know what it's like to be overwhelmed by the world? Do you know what its like to be brought down to your knees, feeling powerless to help someone in need? Have you ever felt like you have a broken rudder and feel helpless to navigate yourself through the stormy sea of life?
Of course you have, because we all experience the feel helpless, overwhelmed, and powerless at times. But in those moments we have a choice to be left handed or right handed.
"He Dexiá" is the Greek word for "God's right hand" and it is a symbol of his POWER. It is symbolic of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. The Messiah is referred to in the Passover Haggadah as the right hand of God. In His right hand, God shows His Character, His Power, His Love, His Grace, His Mercy and His Guarantee of Security. In times of stress and trauma, when the horrors of living in this world overwhelm us, those who abide in "He Dexiá", will rest securely, because the ONE who defeated death and the grave, Jesus/Yeshua, possesses all the POWER to save you, redeem you, and walk you through the storms.
Bob and Kim Take a moment to praise God today. Ask Him to be YOUR right hand. Then put your faith and hope in Him...God's right hand, not in your own.
Pastor Elliott
Jesus, I love you. I pray for You to be my "He Dexia" Hold me Jesus in Your Mighty Right Hand of Character, Power, Love, Grace, Mercy and Security. All hell seems to be breaking loose in my life. I pray for Your help Jesus. It is the little things like cars breaking down one after the other and repairs to the house, but the little things add up to big bucks. Then the IRS pulling their stunt of charging us 1900 dollar fee for not turning in all our business forms when we did turn them in, three times now. Plus I am not physically feeling well. Plus the refinance we are trying to get done for the house just got abruptly halted. I pray for YOUR hand of protection against the attacks of the enemy. AMEN!

Giant Opportunities
"The LORD said to Moses, "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites… Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it." But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." Numbers 13:1a, 30-31
As we face life, we can be overwhelmed by its giant obstacles or be inspired by its giant opportunities. Challenges and uncertainties tend to corrode our confidence. It is in the face of the unknown that we can move forward by faith, or backward in disbelief. What giant obstacles are you facing? How can your obstacles be converted into opportunities? Obstacles are stepping stones for obedient feet to follow.
Therefore, stay focused with aggressive patience and you will eventually see some obstacles dissolve while others are transformed into treasures. Possibly a financial opportunity is looming large but it seems like an intimidating obstacle. If so, stay true to your integrity by not selectively suspending your core values for much needed results. Instead, remain faithful to wise stewardship and honesty. The right results will follow at the right time. Trust God to use scary giants for His glory.
God orchestrates giant opportunities for His greater good. He told Moses that He was giving His children the promised land; all they had to do was show up and receive His gift. Giant opportunities often require faith, planning, perseverance, and hard work, buy sometimes the reward of obedience and trust in the Lord is enough. So how are you facing the giants in your life; as obstacles or opportunities?
Leaders look and pray for opportunities, exploring them with energy and enthusiasm. Your relentless leadership inspires your family, friends, and work associates to remain faithful and not freak out. Therefore, take the opportunity the Lord has given you. Difficult days and economic challenges are great opportunities for God to get the glory. So be aggressive, increase your efforts, actively pursue heaven with prayer, and by faith receive what your Savior Jesus has already given you. Go after the giant opportunities with gusto and with grace.
The Bible says, "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13, NASB).
Prayer: With what giant obstacle, can I trust God to turn it into an opportunity?

God-Size Goals
"Jesus replied, 'What is impossible with men is possible with God". Luke 18:27
God-sized goals are meant to challenge our thinking and further our faith. These Holy Spirit inspired 'big ideas' are crafted by our Creator to spur us on to good works and transformational living. God-sized goals make us uncomfortable at times. They are not guaranteed to happen, but they position us to pray more and believe in God better.
It is through prayerful planning and implementation that gigantic goals move from a mere possibility to a surer probability. Huge objectives are a hedge against mediocrity, and a prod toward perfection. God-sized goals are given to govern your thinking and determine your time, so that you are intentional and focused on His big picture. Otherwise, you can drift around without a rudder of reality, destined for disappointment.
Best of all God-sized goals get you to God. It is prayer and planning with significant progress that moves you from the realm of possibility to the place of probability. In most cases it is one man or woman's passion and focus that proves catalytic in the creation and execution of the goal. The leader looks failure in the eye and extinguishes it by faith, wisdom, and hard work, all wrapped around a skilled and unified team.
Christ-centered possibilities, far outweigh man-centered probabilities. Perhaps you need to get away in solitude for several days, asking your Savior to sear your soul with His goals. Think outside the box of small belief, for the Lord is unlimited in His abilities and resources. God-sized goals arrest your attention, adjust your attitude, and accelerate your actions.
So, prayerfully set great goals, and He will grow your character in the process, while influencing others for His glory. Trust Him to teach you the way and to show you, with eyes of faith, way beyond the bounds of your experience, for His plan will prevail. The Bible says, "I know You can do all things; no plan of Yours can be thwarted" (Job 42:2).
Prayer: What goal is God giving me that needs to be accepted in faith, requiring hard work towards its accomplishment?
