Military Families Perusing Psalm Two

Psalm 2 :1-12

Why do the nations plan evil together? Why do they make useless plans? 2 The kings of the earth take their stand against the Lord. The rulers of the earth gather together against his anointed king. 3 "Let us break free from their chains," they say. "Let us throw off their ropes." 4 The One who sits on his throne in heaven laughs. The Lord makes fun of those rulers and their plans. 5 When he is angry, he warns them. When his anger blazes out, he terrifies them. 6 He says to them, "I have placed my king on my holy mountain of Zion." 7 I will announce what the Lord has promised. He said to me, "You are my son. Today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will give the nations to you. All nations on earth will belong to you. 9 You will rule them with an iron rod. You will break them to pieces like clay pots." 10 Kings, be wise! Rulers of the earth, be warned! 11 Serve the Lord and have respect for him. Serve him with joy and trembling. 12 Obey the son completely, or he will be angry. Your way of life will lead to your death. His anger can blaze out at any moment. Blessed are all those who go to him for safety.

Perusing For: Purpose-Truth

As a person in the military or in a military family or a friend of someone in the military, what truth, what purpose of God do I see in this Psalm for me and or my military warrior?

Perusing For-Promise

What is God promising my military family/friend in this Psalm? What promise can I hold on to this week?

Perusing For-Praise

What does God show me in this psalm about praising Him?

Perusing For-Prayer

What verse can I use as a prayer for my military family/friend this week?

Perusing To-BE His….Just Do it

As a part or head of a military family, which verse helps me to be better, to act better, to trust God the best this week? Which verse can I use to shape my attitudes?

Dig Deeper…. Dig Deeper….Dig Deeper….Just Do It!!

How can we as military and military families have attitudes that reflect respect, willessness and joy? We are commanded to respect in our jobs, but how do we respect God in our all in all? Respect X 2! Respect goes both ways. God values us, He loves us with all His heart and there is no good thing He will withhold from us. We must respect Him from an undivided heart. We must check our attitudes to make sure we have a healthy esteem for God! We need to be constantly checking our heart attitudes? How long has it been since you had an attitude-respect check?

Hebrews 13:14-18

Here on earth we do not have a city that lasts forever, but we are looking for the city that we will have in the future.15 So through Jesus let us always offer to God our sacrifice of praise, coming from lips that speak his name.16 Do not forget to do good to others, and share with them, because such sacrifices please God. Obey your leaders and act under their authority. They are watching over you, because they are responsible for your souls. Obey them so that they will do this work with joy, not sadness. It will not help you to make their work hard. 18 Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience, because we always want to do the right thing.

Here Is A Devotional Written For Military Families From The Insight Gained From Perusing PSALM TWO!

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (amplified)

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].

"Attitude Check!! I wonder how you keep a good attitude when everything about war is negative. I have a hard time keeping a good attitude about you being gone. Selfish thoughts just take over and before I know it… the pity party begins and then I think of you and all you are sacrificing for me and others and my flesh fit abruptly stops! I hope that you are keeping a good attitude because I know you need your energy and discouragement, frustration and anger seems to just sap all energy! I hope for you today an attitude that is filled with a healthy respect for God and good thoughts that energize your purpose for being there."

Ephesians 4:21-23 Assuming that you have really heard Him and been taught by Him, as [all] Truth is in Jesus [embodied and personified in Him],22Strip yourselves of your former nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lusts and desires that spring from delusion;23And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],

Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.

Job 36:6-11 He will not keep evil people alive, but he gives the poor their rights. 7 He always watches over those who do right; he sets them on thrones with kings and they are honored forever. 8 If people are bound in chains, or if trouble, like ropes, ties them up, 9 God tells them what they have done, that they have sinned in their pride. 10 God makes them listen to his warning and commands them to change from doing evil. 11 If they obey and serve him, the rest of their lives will be successful, and the rest of their years will be happy.
