Constant Conversation With God 1/24

Week Of January 24th, 2011 Monday, January 24th 2011

AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

Make My Life A Constant Conversation With You!

Joshua 23:14

Not one of all the good promises

the Lord your God gave you has failed.

Yes, Lord of My Life, Today, I am aware and very grateful for my salvation, knowing it gives me complete access to My Father God and His Kingdom purposes. AWE-GOD!

Our God is so cool! Everything looks like the ship is going down, then He hands you a little miracle for your day to keep your hope alive. Sweet! Today we called DirectTV to turn it off because we knew we would not have the money to pay for another month. We told them that Bob lost his job and they said that we have been customers for a very long time and they did not want to lose us, so they gave us five free months and said to check back with them then. AWE-GOD!

Following THEE Leader ~ Hosea 6:4-11;12-14:9

Monday – Read Hosea 11:12-12:6

In these verses we find a brief synopsis of Israel's history as seen through one of her patriarchs. Like Jacob, Israel has been struggling for blessing throughout their history.

What does the prophet say Israel must do to live under the blessings of God [v.6a]?

What will it look like for Israel to return to the Lord God Almighty [v.6b]?

Are you seeking to live under the blessing of God by maintaining love & justice [v.6]?

Are you living in dependence upon God by waiting for Him to return to you [v.6]?

My Thoughts About These Verses:

To live under the blessings of God, we have to find that place of willessness under the Authority of God, a place of humble submission, respectful-awe and heart-felt obedience.

Yes, I am waiting, putting all my hopes and expectations in God. Waiting in hope!

Sometimes when I think of what it means to return to God, I think it means to fully face God. I think we get off on our own tangents and go off on our own and our backs are too Gdo's will, but when we are willess, we are fully facing God's Sovereign Will in complete dependence upon Him and our lives reflect the light of His face!

Hosea 12:6 Therefore return to your God! Hold fast to love and mercy, to righteousness and justice, and wait [expectantly] for your God continually.

What one generation tolerates, the next normalizes. What one generation normalizes the next celebrates in. Break The Cycle! Quote By Pastor Todd Mullins

My Thoughts About This Quote:

Our family (my 3 sisters and two brothers) is like a ship wrecked on the rocks in the inlet and it is fast going down. There is so much bitterness, trash talk and hurt being passed out because of what my dad did with his will. Last week I felt like just giving up on it all and just walking away from the lot of them. I just did not want to go down with that ship, so I decided I was bailing out, I could not win trying to be a peacemaker in this ship wreck! But after the sermon Sunday, I am in there fighting the fight again, this time with God holding my hands up as I begin once again to bail out the bitter water and by the help of Jesus Christ, hope huge that one day the ship will be restored and sail again on peaceful waters!

Matthew 7 ~ The Message Bible

24-25"These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. If you work these words into your life, you are like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock. Rain poured down, the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.

Father God, keep us fixed to YOU this day, in the all of our everything and no matter what may we stay firmly paced in your truth.

Kimberly, pomp...or circumstance?

Romans 16:25-27 Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

In the year 1920, young Oswald Smith stood before the examining board for the selection of missionaries. He had wanted to be a missionary for as long as he could remember, and for all that time had been crying out to God that He might open a door for him to do so. Finally, his time had come. There he stood awaiting his destiny. His long-awaited was about to come..."No." Smith had not met the missionary board's qualifications and was turned down for service. After a time of disappointment, he decided that if he couldn't be a missionary, he would build a church which would raise up some. And that is precisely what he did. The church he planted sent out more missionaries than any other church of its time. And God used Oswald Smith mightily for His Kingdom. This is what happens when we don't let our circumstances rule us. We will always be victorious. Kimberly, have you been disappointed recently? Not all our hopes and expectations come to pass like we think they should. Let's not let it get us down. Surely God has something better! Continue to seek. Continue to knock. Continue to ask. Continue to get revelation. We need to be walking in victory! There's so much work to be done!!

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac Shining 4-Him-Always-4Ever!*

Have I been disappointed lately! OMGFR? That is an understatement! All I have known lately is disappointment! It is the human condition! People who hurt, hurt other people, people who are greedy, hurt other people, people who are bitter, hurt other people, people whose lives are on the throne of their life, hurt other people, companies who look out for their own well being and put the almighty dollar 1st, hurt other people; YES I have been disappointed lately, but the truth is, the one Who matters most, the One Who is simply my significant has not disappointed me. Jesus Christ has been with me in comfort, strength, wisdom, grace, mercy and provision and has faithfully without any conditions loved me. So Therefore, earthly disappointment has no rule over me… Jesus does.

#poiema Gospel Of John Study http://www.biltmorebaptist.org/poiema/

John 1:6-18

There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.(A) 7This man came to witness, that he might testify of the Light, that all men might believe in it [adhere to it, trust it, and rely upon it] through him. 8He was not the Light himself, but came that he might bear witness regarding the Light. 9There it was--the true Light [was then] coming into the world [the genuine, perfect, steadfast Light] that illumines every person.(B) 10He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him]. 11He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own--His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. 12But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--(C) 13Who owe their birth neither to [a]bloods nor to the will of the flesh [that of physical impulse] nor to the will of man [that of a natural father], but to God. [They are born of God!] 14And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.(D) 15John testified about Him and cried out, This was He of Whom I said, He Who comes after me has priority over me, for He was before me. [He takes rank above me, for He existed before I did. He has advanced before me, because He is my Chief.] 16For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. 17For while the Law was given through Moses, grace ([b]unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ.(E) 18No man has ever seen God at any time; the only [c]unique Son, or [d]the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].(F)

My Thoughts About These Verses:

John The Baptist: Was a Nazirite and because of that he vowed to do many things: He did not touch a dead body and that showed his affections were on the altar to God. He did not drink wine and that showed that all his appetites were under the submission to God. His long hair was a sign of submission and humility for a man. It was a very high standard of consecration.

Luke 7:26-28 Jesus talked about John The Baptist.

Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. 27 John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say, 'Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way before you.'[a] 28 I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of God is greater than he is!"

My Thoughts About These Verses:

John prepared a way to the Lord, a way of holiness and submission to God. John showed us a high standard of consecration to God. Jesus thought very highly of John and He spoke of Johns humility, that even the least person in the Kingdom is greater than he.

Mark 6:23-25 (New King James Version)

23 He also swore to her, "Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half my kingdom." 24 So she went out and said to her mother, "What shall I ask?" And she said, "The head of John the Baptist!"

25 Immediately she came in with haste to the king and asked, saying, "I want you to give me at once the head of John the Baptist on a platter."

Matthew 17:12-14 (New King James Version)

12 But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands." 13 Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist

5.Matthew 14:1

[ John the Baptist Beheaded ] At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the report about Jesus

Matthew 14:1-3 (in Context) Matthew 14 (Whole Chapter)

26 Were you looking for a prophet? Yes, and he is more than a prophet. 27 John is the man to whom the Scriptures refer when they say, 'Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way before you.'[a] 28 I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Matthew Henry Commentary

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Bible is available in the Public Domain.

John the Baptist came to bear witness concerning Jesus. Nothing more fully shows the darkness of men's minds, than that when the Light had appeared, there needed a witness to call attention to it. Christ was the true Light; that great Light which deserves to be called so. By his Spirit and grace he enlightens all that are enlightened to salvation; and those that are not enlightened by him, perish in darkness. Christ was in the world when he took our nature upon him, and dwelt among us. The Son of the Highest was here in this lower world. He was in the world, but not of it. He came to save a lost world, because it was a world of his own making. Yet the world knew him not. When he comes as a Judge, the world shall know him. Many say that they are Christ's own, yet do not receive him, because they will not part with their sins, nor have him to reign over them. All the children of God are born again. This new birth is through the word of God as the means, 1Pe 1:23, and by the Spirit of God as the Author. By his Divine presence Christ always was in the world. But now that the fulness of time was come, he was, after another manner, God manifested in the flesh. But observe the beams of his Divine glory, which darted through this veil of flesh. Men discover their weaknesses to those most familiar with them, but it was not so with Christ; those most intimate with him saw most of his glory. Although he was in the form of a servant, as to outward circumstances, yet, in respect of graces, his form was like the Son of God His Divine glory appeared in the holiness of his doctrine, and in his miracles. He was full of grace, fully acceptable to his Father, therefore qualified to plead for us; and full of truth, fully aware of the things he was to reveal. (Jn 1:15-18)

John disowns himself to be the Christ, who was now expected and waited for. He came in the spirit and power of Elias, but he was not the person of Elias. John was not that Prophet whom Moses said the Lord would raise up to them of their brethren, like unto him. He was not such a prophet as they expected, who would rescue them from the Romans. He gave such an account of himself, as might excite and awaken them to hearken to him. He baptized the people with water as a profession of

repentance, and as an outward sign of the spiritual blessings to be conferred on them by the Messiah, who was in the midst of them, though they knew him not, and to whom he was unworthy to render the meanest service. (Jn 1:29-36)

My Thoughts About These Verses:

His birth was prophesied in the scriptures as one who would foretell the message of the coming Messiah. His birth was a miracle, as He was born to people who were past the age of being able to have children. HE consecrated Himself to God and in many ways, disciplined himself to stay pure ni body and soul. He was a Nazirite, one of three spoken about in the New Testament. Being a Nazirite was a very high standard of consecration. He abstained from wine to show that all his appetites were under submission to God. His long hair was a sign of extreme submission and humility.

The Testimony of John the Baptist John 1:19-29

This was John's testimony when the Jewish leaders sent priests and Temple assistants[a] from Jerusalem to ask John, "Who are you?" 20 He came right out and said, "I am not the Messiah."

21 "Well then, who are you?" they asked. "Are you Elijah?" "No," he replied. "Are you the Prophet we are expecting?"[b] "No." 22 "Then who are you? We need an answer for those who sent us. What do you have to say about yourself?" 23 John replied in the words of the prophet Isaiah: "I am a voice shouting in the wilderness, 'Clear the way for the Lord's coming!'"[c] 24 Then the Pharisees who had been sent 25 asked him, "If you aren't the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet, what right do you have to baptize?" 26 John told them, "I baptize with[d] water, but right here in the crowd is someone you do not recognize. 27 Though his ministry follows mine, I'm not even worthy to be his slave and untie the straps of his sandal." 28 This encounter took place in Bethany, an area east of the Jordan River, where John was baptizing.

Jesus, the Lamb of God

John 1: 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 He is the one I was talking about when I said, 'A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.' 31 I did not recognize him as the Messiah, but I have been baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel."

32 Then John testified, "I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him. 33 I didn't know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, 'The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I saw this happen to Jesus, so I testify that he is the Chosen One of God.[e]"

My Thoughts About These Verses:

Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one who cries: Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord [clear away the obstacles]; make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God!(A)

Cross references: A.Isaiah 40:3 : Mark 1:3 Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS: KimberlyMac Shining 4-Him-Always-4Ever!*

To me John was just amazing in humility because He was so in AWE of God! His AWE-God brought forth a great humility in Him. John was quoting the truth from the Word about Who He was and Whom had sent Him. He was sent by God the Father to prepare the way for Jesus the Son of God. To be a messenger, a light of truth to the path of Jesus.

VS 27-29-34 Statement of Humility and Lordship

I am not even worthy to be His slave- Look the lamb of God- Not even worthy to tie his sandals- He is the Chosen of God. John the Baptist had a huge AWE of God! He saw Jesus in the crowd as the Pharisees questioned him and then after He baptized Jesus, he proclaimed to all the Jesus was the sacrificial lamb of God.

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

1 John 2:15-17  15 Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.
16 For everything that belongs to the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one's lifestyle—is not from the Father, but is from the world.
17 And the world with its lust is passing away, but the one who does God's will remain forever.

…the programs that we watch today are nothing compared to the "good ol' family values" progamming of the 1950's. The "eyes are the windows of the soul" and we should make sure our soul has a balanced diet that strengthens our relationship with our Creator, not weakens it. Serving others strengthens our spirit. Everyone I know who volunteers their time and resources to worthy causes that benefit the Kingdom of God are strong in their spirit. I am not saying we should throw our televisions, video games and electronics in the garbage. I am suggesting that there needs to be balance in our life. There are very few things we see on TV that build us up spiritually. Entertainment has its place, but how is the Kingdom of God benefiting from an unworthy diversion? I pray God will give you His plan for your day. All that He does in and through you will last forever. Yield this day to HIM. Let Him balance your life with His will. There will be time for everything that is worthy. Pastor Elliott

My Thoughts About These Verses:

So very true! This past weekend I was listening to a sermon about this very thing on how we bring so much into our homes that we need to protect our children from, we need to fight the good fight of faith by sometimes just turning off the TV. At the end He said this very convicting statement: What one generation tolerates, the next normalizes. What one generation normalizes the next celebrates in. Break The Cycle!
