AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

Make My Life Excellent In You-Constant In Your Courage!

Our tendency is to run away from the painful realities or to try to change them as soon as possible. But cure without care makes us into rulers, controllers, manipulators, and prevents a real community from taking shape. Cure without care makes us preoccupied with quick changes, impatient and unwilling to share each other's burden. And so cure can often become offending instead of liberating.

Beth Moore= daniel teaching #6

Daniel Beth Moore Notes From CD 6

Have a new view of what Babylon is to you. Beware Of Excess. It is the trap of our enemy to bind us in our culture. We belong to God to His Kingdom.

Medes and Persians have taken over, it is still Babylon, but it has a new government, yet human nature is the same. Darius brings Daniel into a high place of government because of his reputation, and immediately there is jealousy. They declared an edict that no one could pray to anyone but Darius for a certain length of time

Daniel 6:10-16

10 But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. 11 Then the officials went together to Daniel's house and found him praying and asking for God's help. 12 So they went straight to the king and reminded him about his law. "Did you not sign a law that for the next thirty days any person who prays to anyone, divine or human—except to you, Your Majesty—will be thrown into the den of lions?"

"Yes," the king replied, "that decision stands; it is an official law of the Medes and Persians that cannot be revoked." 13 Then they told the king, "That man Daniel, one of the captives from Judah, is ignoring you and your law. He still prays to his God three times a day." 14 Hearing this, the king was deeply troubled, and he tried to think of a way to save Daniel. He spent the rest of the day looking for a way to get Daniel out of this predicament. 15 In the evening the men went together to the king and said, "Your Majesty, you know that according to the law of the Medes and the Persians, no law that the king signs can be changed." 16 So at last the king gave orders for Daniel to be arrested and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to him, "May your God, whom you serve so faithfully, rescue you."

A Holy Habit #prayer! Daniel prayed three times a day, no matter what, He prayed bowing-giving thanks to His God!

Daniel 6: Imagine being found guilty of prayer. If we were accused of praying, we would want to be found guilty of that crime. Beth Moore

Guilty of the crime of prayer: This is where Daniel found himself. He responded how: Down on his knees with a Holy Habit of #prayer

Suddenly life can change-we are thrown into an urgent situation. Will we panic, be paralyzed or bow in #prayer before our AWE-GOD!

Daniel 6! Nothing disturbed Daniel from what God called him to do. He had a Holy Habit of #prayer. Beth Moore

OMG Emergency? If you panic you will do the wrong thing, if you are paralyzed you will do nothing, if you pray God's power will lead the way!

Nothing disturbed him from what God had called him to do. He had a Holy Habit. Suddenly in just a moment, life can just change and we are in a completely urgent situation. Before that we were perfectly fine and suddenly we are thrown into an emergency situation. Daniel had no one to turn to, this time he is on his own. When there is no one to run to, grab hands to, get down on your knees with how will you react in an emergency. We need to be ready in advance how we will react in an emergency. We can panic, we can become paralazed or we can pray! When we panic we do the wrong thing, if we become paralyzed we do nothing. If we pray we do the power thing. It is the power thing… I can panic, paralyze or pray!

Remember these three options when you find yourself in an urgent situation. Panic-Paralyzed-Prayer! Choose Prayer! Beth Moore

In A Sudden Emergency! Don't Panic, Don't Be Paralyzed! Hit your knees as fast as you can in #prayer! Heaven will move! Beth Moore

God is all about relationship! Through #prayer He forces the issue of relationship. He wants us to know He is involved! Beth Moore

We have cried out for help. He prayed toward Jerusalem, it stems back from 1 Kings 8… when we turn our faces toward heaven, we are turning our faces toward the temple where the God of all Gods dwell. Daniel just simply went back to the Holy Habit he had established and went back to his knees over and over again. WE want to practice a holy habit so it becomes the "old pattern" we all have old patterns… some of us rage… some of go into depression… some get mean and angry… some go into despair… some get a critical spirit… some go back to old comfort patterns…

Establish an "old pattern" of prayer! Walk with God so diligently, so deeply that our old patterns change- to react in the Spirit. Beth Moore

What if we are so engrained in the Word of God-The Holy Habits of The Spirit-that when we react it is by urges of the Spirit of God? Beth Moore

In an emergency, we need to default into the things of the spirit instead of the old habits of the flesh.

Beth Moore

Let's walk with God so diligently that He changes our "old behavior patterns" so we react with urges of The Holy Spirit. Beth Moore

We walk with God so diligently that God changes our behavior patterns…. Being so engrained in the Word of God that we react with urges of the Spirit. We default into the things of the Spirit instead of the flesh. Pattern of Life: Three times a day Daniel got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to His God. He is giving thanks to God

Philippians 4:6-7. "Do not be anxious about anything, not anything… but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds with Christ Jesus" EVERYTHING!!!! WITH THANKSGIVING!

In our urgent situations we need some guarding for our hearts== in everything… everything can be affected by prayer.

Philippians 4:6-9

6  Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.7  And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.8  For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].9  Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.

In our culture we compartmentalize everything- we can't keep God out – He must be in our everything- everything can be affected by #prayer

Times of sudden crisis, something urgent comes, a situation where your mind could play a number on you. We need to guard our hearts and minds and this scripture tells us how to do it. EVERYTHING! An important Word… Everything can be affected by prayer!

Philp 4:6-7 Everything! God would not tell us to pray about everything if it would not be affected by #prayer. Pray about EVERYTHING! Beth Moore

Defeat happens when we compartmentalize our prayers-it is all God's turf-whatever your situation be whatever it is- pray about it! Beth Moore

With thanksgiving… Why? It Blesses the Heart of God. Thanksgiving… because it builds up your faith.

Pray With Thanksgiving! Why? Because it blesses the Heart of God and builds up your faith. Beth Moore

We are so self absorbed by culture that it doesn't take much for us to be anxious. The smallest thing can become the biggest crisis. Beth Moore

There is power in the spoken word, when we speak it out, the heavenlies begin to hear. There is a lot of energy that is consumed with anxiety. The enemy cannot read our mind, he must read it from the outside, when you speak out thanksgiving the more your faith grows, thank God, declare what God has done… He has done so much. Open your mouth and start thanking God when heaviness comes over you. Speak it out. God can read our minds… the enemy can't so when you speak Thanksgiving, you are reminded about God's faithfulness, His deliverance… You realize Your God is able, the more you say it, the more your faith grows. Declare what God has done! Daniel had a Holy Habit of getting down on his knees and thanking God.

Speak Thanksgiving Outloud! Remind Yourself In The Faithfulness Of AWE-GOD! Our God Is Able! Make Gratefulness A Holy Habit!

17 And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that there might be no change of purpose concerning Daniel.

Amplified Bible Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

We don't have a situation that our God is not able to change. The world may have a purpose in mind for us and the stone may be rolled in to keep us locked up by their purpose, but God's Kingdom Purpose will prevail. They rolled a stone and called it finished, just like with Jesus! But God has His way of changing the situation, His purposes always play out with Kingdom Glory. The king was so upset he could not sleep or eat because of the purposes of the people being carried out with no way of escape for Daniel.

Daniel 6:17-19 We don't have a situation that our God is not able to change. The world has a purpose in mind for us, But God's purposes always play out with Kingdom Glory!

19 Very early the next morning, the king got up and hurried out to the lions' den. 20 When he got there, he called out in anguish, "Daniel, servant of the living God! Was your God, whom you serve so faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?" 21 Daniel answered, "Long live the king! 22 My God sent his angel to shut the lions' mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty."

Who you serve so faithfully…. Again A Holy Habit is observed and known by the king about Daniles life and Daniels integrity is also brightly seen.

23 The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted in his God. 24 Then the king gave orders to arrest the men who had maliciously accused Daniel. He had them thrown into the lions' den, along with their wives and children. The lions leaped on them and tore them apart before they even hit the floor of the den.

In this culture, when someone had betrayed the king in anyway, when he was put to death so was his whole family. It is a terrible thing to us, but it was a part of their culture. The kings felt it stopped any kind of revenge from the family.

Daniel 6: 25 Then King Darius sent this message to the people of every race and nation and language throughout the world:"Peace and prosperity to you! n26 "I decree that everyone throughout my kingdom should tremble with fear before the God of Daniel. For he is the living God, and he will endure forever. His kingdom will never be destroyed, and his rule will never end. 27 He rescues and saves his people; he performs miraculous signs and wonders in the heavens and on earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions."28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

When people of God face a fiery trial there are three scenarios before us

  1. Delivered from the fire
  2. WE can be delivered through the fire- bonds coming off of us
  3. WE can be delivered by the fire straight into God's arms

When Daniel got thrown into the lions den God chose #2 To Be delivered through the fire. #1 happens many times and we don't know it, the many times God delivers us.

We have heard this story so many times that we make it into a sweet Sunday school lesson, we need a whole new perspective to get a bite of reality. These were really hungry, ferocious lions… they would have eaten Daniel alive, sometimes that is a very slow painful death. This is not a cute elementary Sunday School story, it was ugly and was going to get mean and not a pretty death… Daniel was an 80 year old man… picture that. We also live in a lions den in our culture:

1 Peter 5:8-9

8  Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.9  Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.

Amplified Bible Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

Your enemy prowls around looking for someone to devour, resist him. WE have one offensive Ephes 6 the armor of God is defensive… The Sword of the Spirit is our offensive weapon… when the lion

1 Peter 5:8-9 We have an enemy! Be on the defensive put on the Armor of God, be on the Offensive use The Sword of The Spirit- The Word Of God

When you are suddenly in an urgent situation, you default into what you know. Get The Word Out Now- Sharpen It In Your Mind! Beth Moore

In a sudden trial, you will default into what you know. Do you know the world's wisdom more than the Word of God's wisdom? Beth Moore

When the enemy drags us by the shoulder taking us to devour us, we pull out the Word of God and speak it, we stab him in the heart with the Word of God, get the Word out and start sharpening the weapon. When you are in an urgent situation we default into what we know… do you know the word more or the culture more. Do you regularly wound the enemy, he wants to devour us. He wants to devour us, our testimony, our lives… he is mean, we are in the mouth of a lions den…. We have an enemy that wants to devour us.

The enemy wants to devour you? Do you regularly wound the enemy with the Sword Of The Spirit? Beth Moore

How are we going to shut the mouth of the lions… we can't it is God Who does it…. It is God Who does it. We need to open our eyes to Babylon, our surrounding… figurative Babylon. We are still in Babylon.

The wonderful side of living in Babylon, there is a side to being in the lions den that is wonderful. We consider the wonderful side of life in Babylon and the lions den, we have the opportunity to experience glorious intense times with God. When we are in peril from an enemy htat wants to eat us alive, we will experience glorious intense encounters with God… If God had kept him from the lions den, he would have missed the miracle of the angels that shut the lions mouth. He saw manifest before him an angel to shut the lions mouth.

2 Timothy 4:16   At my first trial no one acted in my defense [as my advocate] or took my part or [even] stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them!17  But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the [Gospel] message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was delivered out of the jaws of the lion.18  [And indeed] the Lord will certainly deliver and draw me to Himself from every assault of evil. He will preserve and bring me safe unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

Amplified Bible Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

Paul was all by himself, a Daniel type situation when he faced the enemy alone, BUT GOD stood with Him, giving him strength. We have opportune moments to see God reveal Himself on this earth and we realize it is not a God forsaken world, because we have encountered Him and we know He is real.

In Paul's thinking, He believed so strongly in the Sovereignty of God… He was delivered so many times and then he was delivered home… he knew no one could take him until God said so.

Not only can we have glorious times with our God, but we can emerge from a terribly hurtful situation unharmed – unhurt. What kind of situations are we in, situations of great personal hurt and betrayal. Our God can bring us forth unharmed. God can bring us unharmed out our battles… Ps 55 He ransomed me unharmed from the battle.

VS 22 Daniel 6

22  My God has sent His angel and has shut the lions' mouths so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent and blameless before Him; and also before you, O king, [as you very well know] I have done no harm or wrong.

Amplified Bible Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

They have not hurt me because I have been found innocent- clear in his sight. It is a wonderful thing to be innocent when you are in trials. Every battle you face does not have to be a consequence of sin. Not everything we grow through is a direct result of our sins. Yet, some of the fires we find ourselves in, we have help put ourselves there. It was not true of Daniel… it was true of the people of Judah of that time - they put themselves into captivity!

Jeremiah 10:19

Woe is me because of my hurt! [says Jeremiah, speaking for the nation.] My wound is grievous and incurable. But I said, Surely this sickness and suffering and grief are mine, and I must endure, tolerate, and bear them.

Jeremiah 10:16-25 But the Portion-of-Jacob is the real thing. He put the whole universe together And pays special attention to Israel. His name? God-of-the-Angel-Armies! 17 Grab your bags, all you who are under attack.18 God has given notice: "Attention! I'm evicting Everyone who lives here, And right now-yes, right now! I'm going to press them to the limit, squeeze the life right out of them." 19 But it's a black day for me! Hopelessly wounded, I said, "Why, oh why did I think I could bear it?"20 My house is ruined-the roof caved in. Our children are gone-we'll never see them again. No one left to help in rebuilding, no one to make a new start! It's because our leaders are stupid. They never asked God for counsel, And so nothing worked right. The people are scattered all over. 22 But listen! Something's coming! A big commotion from the northern borders! Judah's towns about to be smashed, left to all the stray dogs and cats! 23 I know, God, that mere mortals can't run their own lives, That men and women don't have what it takes to take charge of life.24 So correct us, God, as you see best. Don't lose your temper. That would be the end of us.25 Vent your anger on the godless nations, who refuse to acknowledge you, And on the people who won't pray to you-The very ones who've made hash out of Jacob, yes, made hash And devoured him whole, people and pastures alike.

I made this bed, I have to sleep in it, because of this my injury is beyond any healing, this is my lot, this is what I deserve… God's Response…

Jeremiah 30:12-19

12  For thus says the Lord: Your hurt is incurable and your wound is grievous.13  There is none to plead your cause; for [the pressing together of] your wound you have no healing [device], no binding plaster.14  All your lovers (allies) have forgotten you; they neither seek, inquire of, or require you. For I have hurt you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel and merciless foe, because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable.15  Why do you cry out because of your hurt [the natural result of your sins]? Your pain is deadly (incurable). Because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable, I have done these things to you.16  Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity. And they who despoil you will become a spoil, and all who prey upon you will I give for a prey.

17  For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no one seeks after and for whom no one cares!18  Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will release from captivity the tents of Jacob and have mercy on his dwelling places; the city will be rebuilt on its own [old] moundlike site, and the palace will be dwelt in after its former fashion.19  Out of them [city and palace] will come songs of thanksgiving and the voices of those who make merry. And I will multiply them, and they will not be few; I will also glorify them, and they will not be small.20  Their children too shall be as in former times, and their congregation shall be established before Me, and I will punish all who oppress them.21  And their prince will be one of them, and their ruler will come from the midst of them. I will cause him to draw near and he will approach Me, for who is he who would have the boldness and would dare [on his own initiative] to approach Me? says the Lord.22  Then you will be My people, and I will be your God.

Amplified Bible Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

Your wound is incurable, beyond healing BUT… VS 17 I will restore you to health and heal your wounds. It is incurable, repercussions for the rest of our lives…. Sometimes we feel that way, that we have sinned and the consequences will be with us forever. We must pray for God's mercy, for God to deliver us. God deliver me out of Your Grace and great incomprehensible mercy. God brings you forth from the trials, He heals you. You won't hemorrhage forever from that wound for the rest of your days, even if it feels incurable, yet God says: I AM THE ONE WHO HEALS YOU

Daniel 6:23

Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no hurt of any kind was found on him because he believed in (relied on, adhered to, and trusted in) his God.

No wound was found on Daniel because He trusted in His God. Will we trust Him to finally deliver us through our hurts, our wounds… even if they are self afflicted?

Growing through the lions den experience, instead of being delivered out of it, we have the opportunity to see worldly Darius become in AWE of God.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Whosoever! We are assigned to the Whosoever's! We are placed in this world for the Whosoever's… If we can keep our lives pure in this battle, not become self absorbed, ambitious, excessive, if we can keep our noses clean of our culture, we have the capacity of huge influence, influencing the influential. You don't know what you have in your car pool, children's choir, neighborhood, we have no idea who is near us, we are positioned to bear much fruit. Keep your nose clean from your culture. We are called to influence the influential.

You can be delivered by our trials to become all God wants us to be. No one can stop the Kingdom of God, it will endure. As long as we are here, we have a job to do right here in Babylon.

I want to be different for the rest of my days. I don't want to get over Daniel Chapters 1-6. Mark us. Heal us. We are so trapped in the old incurable wound, heal us Lord, bring us on through the fire so we can come out the other side not smelling like smoke do it. Deliver us from every evil attack and take us safely to Your heavenly Kingdom. Jesus! AMEN!

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Luke 11:39-44

But the Lord said to him: "Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and evil. Fools! Didn't He who made the outside make the inside too?  But give from what is within to the poor, and then everything is clean for you. "But woe to you Pharisees! You give a tenth of mint, rue, and every kind of herb, and you bypass justice and love for God. These things you should have done without neglecting the others.  "Woe to you Pharisees! You love the front seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.  "Woe to you! You are like unmarked graves; the people who walk over them don't know it."

Dear Bob and Kim,

This scripture hit me hard this morning.  It was like holding up a mirror in front of my face.  I saw a man I didn't recognize.  I immediately thanked God for always telling me the truth about myself, even when I don't want to hear it.   Remember Pogo?  His most famous quote is, "We have seen the enemy and he is US!"  Let's thank God today for His word of Truth and Righteousness. Thank him for His beautiful Word that reveals the "Pharisee" within us so that we may confess it to be true and then receive our deliverance. Then we will be free from the chains that bind us and keep us from the intimate relationship with Jesus we need so badly.

Forgive us LORD, for choosing to be people pleasers instead of God pleasers. Help us have a new of focus today LORD. Help us to be mindful of all the opportunities for service that are all around us. Empower us LORD to walk in truth for Your glory. AMEN
