John 17:23

I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me.

Christianity is not a voice in the wilderness, but a life in the world. It is not an idea in the air but feet on the ground going God's way.

Verse Of The Day@biblegateway.com

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

Notes From Listening To 2 Timothy:

There will be hard times as people will be lovers of self, ungrateful, unforgiving, without self control, conceited, lovers of pleasure not of God, having a form of ungodliness but not its power. These gain control of the weak willed. Always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Opposing the truth, men of depraved minds. Their folly will be clear to everyone. Purpose, faith, love endurance and sufferings of Jesus, those things He endured and the Lord rescued from all . We will be persecuted, continue with what you have learned. Know the Holy Scriptures they make you wise for salvation. All scripture is useful for us to equip us.

My Thoughts About This:

Yes Lord, so thankful for Your Word, that equips us for what You have called us to. The best thing is we are called to You 1st and You are the Living Word of God! We do live in hard times where the lovers of pleasure rant their deceit, display their form of ungodliness. As the Word speaks, it shows the folly of sinners with clarity, we don't have to prove God's Word, He does fine without us interfering, we just need to continue in what He is teaching us.

Selfishness looks first at home, but godliness seeks first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, yet in the long run selfishness is loss, and godliness is great gain. It needs faith to act towards our God with an open hand, but surely he deserves it of us; and all that we can do is a very poor acknowledgment of our amazing indebtedness to his goodness. Charles Spurgeon

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Pastor Elliott Osowitt

Galatians 2:21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died for nothing.

The Bible is not a smorgasbord. The Bible proves itself and does not disagree with itself. The Bible repeatedly speaks about the abuse of alcohol (Prov. 20:1; 31:4-5; Isa. 24:9; 1 Cor. 6:9-10; Eph. 5:18). The bigger problem is that God's people need to search the scriptures to discern what God is saying; not look for bits and pieces to support unholy living. God will not be mocked.

Do have questions about what is right or wrong? Do you truly want instruction on living a holy life before God and man? There are many good study Bibles on the market that point you to scripture to help you determine God's counsel for Holy living. Men, don't pick one verse and tell your wife that she can't ever cut her hair again. God did not give us the Holy Scriptures so we can have our way. He gave us the GOOD BOOK so we can have instruction to live HIS WAY and have life eternal through Jesus Christ. Pastor Elliott

Notes As I Listen To Galatians 2

He went in response to a revelation… in response to God. Freedom we have in Christ Jesus, keep it, keep the truth of the gospel with you. God does not judge by external appearance. God is at work in our ministry, be called to God. Give everyone who has the Grace of God, the right hand of fellowship. Remember the poor, always, be eager to help others. Don't draw back, don't separate yourself from others because of petty differences. Don't point your finger at others, three fingers are pointed back at you. Man is justified by faith in Jesus Christ, not by observing the law. No one is justified only in Christ, not by anything other. Jesus does not promote sin. Through the law, we die to the law to live for God. We are crucified by Christ and He lives in me. The life we live in the body, we live by faith in Jesus Christ. Righteousness can't be gained through the law, but only through Jesus.

My Thoughts About This:

I like what Pastor Elliott said about so many people taking things out of the Bible, out of context to support their sin. That is so true. The bible is for seeking God, for learning how to live His Way by His Holy Spirit, not for our own personal applications that bring us comfort and do nothing to stretch our souls from here to there unto forever. I find that I too do this at times when I don't want to hear the truth that changes me. I like to read the whole chapter if a verse has spoken to me, get the fullness out of God's truth.

Culture of Faith Written By Boyd Bailey

Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

Is there enough evidence in your home for you to be convicted of following Jesus Christ? This is a choice that God gives us, a choice to center our home around faith or a facade. What happens behind the doors of your home? Is your home an incubator for faith? Indeed, your ministry begins at home. When your faith works at home, you have the credibility to export it to other environments. It is your laboratory for living.

This does not mean you are without problems, conflicts, and challenges at home. On the contrary, it is when your faith sustains you through family difficulties that it becomes a compelling reason for others to follow Christ. The question for the head of the home is, are you the spiritual leader? As a single parent or the father or mother in the home, do you model prayer and Bible study? Does the fruit of the Spirit flow from your character? Are you involved with a community of believers in a local church?

Belief in God is a choice, so what are some wise choices you can make to build your household of faith? Begin by developing an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Once you are born again, you have a tremendous opportunity and responsibility to grow in your faith. Learn the Bible, apply it to your life, and let God change you from the inside out.

Next, challenge your family to do the same. Create a culture of prayer that becomes a catalyst for their time with Christ. Family devotions, small groups with other believers, and journaling are a few ways to feed the faith appetite of your loved ones. Take your family to church. This sets the stage for a week of faith and obedience.

Perhaps you read a chapter in Proverbs over dinner. Pray with your spouse. Turn off the television one night a week for 30 minutes, then discuss God's word or act out a Bible story in a play and then pray for one another. Teach your children to pray for the sick, the lost, and the hurting. Model for them the joy of generous giving and serving.

Show them how to serve the homeless, orphans, and the elderly. Allow your kids to experience summer camps. This will galvanize their faith. It is a financial sacrifice but it is an investment that will keep throwing off dividends throughout their lives.

Talk with your family about your own struggles and failures and God's faithfulness to answer prayer and take care of you in spite of your mistakes. Your family needs to see you as much vulnerable as they do confident. Indeed, facilitating faith in your home is a daily choice; this is one reason Jesus prayed…

"Give us each day our daily bread" (Luke 11:3). Am I a catalyst for Christ in my home? Do I serve the Lord with my family?

Related Readings: Genesis 18:19; 2 Kings 23:24; John 4:53; Acts 18:18

Genesis 18:19

For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing what is right and just, so that the LORD will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."

A Minute With Maxwell

Complacent! Complacent is an attitude where we become satisfied with where we are and what we are doing and say this and no more. We have potential but we choose to stop. The day we become complacent is the day we start to die. People who have no goals and nothing to get up in the morning to do something of significance. People who become complacent they begin to die inwardly and this is the worse kind of cancer. Complacent people are already dead, they just have not made it official yet.

My Thoughts About This:

Thank You! Oh, this is so true! I pray God wakes up every complacent person and sets their feet in the path of the flow of God's Kingdom purpose in play all around them. I pray God pulls out by the roots, every complacent weed out of our souls! May we walk in the potential of God's Kingdom purposes at play all around us in our moments and into and through our choices. Jesus I pray we see the Glory of God's Kingdom purposes bloom where we have been planted by You. AWE-GOD!

Hebrews 4 ~ The Message Bible

14-16Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let's not let it slip through our fingers. We don't have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He's been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let's walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.

My Thoughts About This:

Hey sweet girl! Thank you so much for your ministry! I am constantly being blessed by it. Today the song really helped me and the scripture was perfect. I guess this move to Georgia is really teaching me bunches, stretching me like no other. Loneliness is a big factor. Our weekends are full with ministry to the Military at Ft Benning and I know without a doubt this is why we are here. But, during the week, I am so lonely. I don't know anyone here yet… So, this song helped me today… To take an "Omnipresent Reality Check" Yes God is with me and yes He has a purpose for everything I am growing through here in Columbus Georgia. Lv ya… thanks

You won't walk through this alone, I never said loneliness was something you never have to fight, but I did say, I will be right there by your side! I did say, I'll always help you fight. You know I made a promise that I intend to keep. My Grace will be sufficient in every time of need, my love will be the anchor that You can hold on to, this is the promise I have made to you.

Worthy News Brief @worthyemail.com

Kimberly, press through the swamps!

Psalms 107:2-6 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

We watched the movie "Pilgrim's Progress" and I have to say, it's remarkably close to the book, which often is not the case when a movie is based upon a book. In his book, Pilgrim's Progress, John Bunyan has written one of the most beautiful allegories about the journey we all travel as a believers. The book describes the hero, Christian, and his journey from the City of Destruction to his heavenly destination, the Celestial City. Now there's one part of Pilgrim's Progress that I want to focus on today-- walking through the Swamp of Despondency!

At one point during their travels, Christian and his companion suddenly find themselves there....in the Swamp of Despondency. Still bearing his burden, Christian, begins to sink in the mire. His traveling companion manages to get out, but he returns to the City of Destruction without giving aid to Christian. Christian is left all alone and sinking even deeper in the mire, until Help, theallegorical figure for the Holy Spirit, pulls him free from the swamp.

Christian then asks Help why this dangerous plot of land has not been mended so that poor travelers might go safely to the Celestial City. Help replies, "This miry slough is such a place that cannot be mended."

How true it is in real life! As hard as we try to avoid them, whether young in the Lord, or spiritually mature...swamps of despondency seem inevitable, and we must struggle through them!

Charles Spurgeon once wrote to his students in the book, "Lectures to my Students", "Fits of depression come over most of us. Usually cheerful as we may be, we must at intervals be cast down. The strong are not always vigorous, the wise not always ready, the brave not always courageous, and the joyous not always happy. There may be here and there men of iron...but surely the rust frets even these."

Kimberly, there are times in our lives when we will struggle through the swamps of despondency -- but praise God that He has provided us a helper for those times of need! We need to press through, seeking and trusting the power of the Holy Spirit to pull us out of those nasty swamps, and set our feet back upon the Rock of our salvation. Let's also look around us to see our brethren who may be struggling in the swamps of despondency, so that, rather than abandoning them, we might give them a hand on their journey to the celestial city! Your family in the Lord with much agape love,

George, Baht Rivka, Elianna & Obadiah Baltimore, MD

My Thoughts About This:

I so know those "fits of despondency" and the rust of iron and they are so not fun! I think loneliness leads me into the swamp of despondency. This season of my life, loneliness has been a constant "thorn of my flesh" even though I have asked the Lord to remove it. God is teaching me that HE is simply-significantly my enough and that even loneliness has its Kingdom purpose for the good of my soul. Sometimes the Sovereign Will of God is so hard to swallow, yet the other colleague of God's will is His Infinite Love and I find that the two are interlocked and balance each other out. We must stand united with both God's Sovereign Will And His Infinite Love and this becomes possible when our hearts become undivided in complete surrender to God. An undivided heart-completely surrendered to God makes it possible for us to stand strongly united with God's Sovereign Will and His Infinite Love. Make it so in me so I can press through the swamps of despondence and leave the burden of my loneliness back in the mire.

YOU VERSION NOTE – GOD INSPIRED- GOD WRITTEN

http://www.youversion.com/notes/2677265/one-can-only-hope

Psalm 25: 8 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will He instruct sinners in [His] way.9 He leads the humble in what is right, and the humble He teaches His way.10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and steadfast love, even truth and faithfulness are they for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.11 For Your name's sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity and my guilt, for [they are] great.12 Who is the man who reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that he should choose.13 He himself shall dwell at ease, and his offspring shall inherit the land.14 The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.

Amplified Bible

My Thoughts About This Verse:

I love Psalm 25! It stirs my hope like no other! I know in order to have a hope like the one expressed in these verses of Psalm 25, I need to set my life before God, instead of before my discouragements. It is a slight adjustment of my life-position, so I am Holy Aligned with God's Grace instead of human disgrace. Though I realize, I too must completely trust God; trust must be in place before hope can be activated in my soul. I deeply realize trust must be the framework of my soul before hope is its garment. I can see hope functions best in the purity of righteousness; sin stymies hope, distracting it from its supernatural purpose. I might even go so far to say that sin muddies hope's clarity with confusion. Oh, I despise confusion! Don't you? I can imagine when God's goodness and purity flows freely in my soul, this is when my soul is the most saturated in the clarity of God's hope. I want to set up my soul with an ambiance of respect-honor-awe for God, because in this atmosphere, hope can and will dominate my attitudes in an incredible and huge way. I gleam by reading Psalm 25, that the focus of a healthy soul is ever towards Jesus, fully facing the ONE WHOSE selfless sacrifice, invested greatly in my future and hope. I desire to learn how to wait in hope in all the situations of my life! I know as I develop my AWE of God this can be a possible victory for me. Waiting is always hopeful when activated by a humble soul and teachable spirit that is following closely after willessness. In A Holy Alliance With Righteousness, I Simply-Significantly Submit To God In Reverent-Humble AWE And Then My Soul Will Be Saturated In The Hope This Psalmist Had For His AWE-GOD! One Can Only Hope!

The Groomsman's Journal : Reflecting, Meditating and Responding

I Must Decrease - God Must Increase In Me!

My Thoughts:

Wed Oct 26 2011 My Thoughts: From The Bridegroom's Voice Week 4

  • Hope is a light in my soul that can and will endure. I can sit in the darkness of despair or I can chose to flip on the light switch of hope.
  • The Holy Spirit is my hope ally and can-will renew my hope when the world plasters it with gunk!
  • Acting out of my discouragement is definitely a step into a pit of disolutionment. I need to learn to take discouragement to Jesus 1st before I step out anywhere with it.
  • Negative emotions come from opening my mind up to discouraging thoughts. Optimism is an attitude that is fuel by the Word of God's Promise and hope is found in the heart of the one who's mind is renewed by God
  • Hope strengthens me, it helps me endure and press through the trials of this life, growing as I go.

Nehemiah 8:8-12

8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. 9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the laws. 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. 11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved. 12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.

King James Version

My Thoughts About This Verse:

  • God's joy is our strength. There is a season for joy and we very rarely yield to it, we always by-pass the celebration.
  • Celebration of our God, is definitely a way to develop our AWE-GOD, which in turn feeds our hope, transforms our attitudes and brings great strength.
  • I can understand, I weep to when I read the word and it brings out my sin and weakness, yet I understand too that it should bring out hope in knowing God is not finished in me, He is working out His salvation in Me

Psalm 25: 1-

1 UNTO YOU, O Lord, do I bring my life.2 O my God, I trust, lean on, rely on, and am confident in You. Let me not be put to shame or [my hope in You] be disappointed; let not my enemies triumph over me.3 Yes, let none who trust and wait hopefully and look for You be put to shame or be disappointed; let them be ashamed who forsake the right or deal treacherously without cause.4 Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.5 Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You [You only and altogether] do I wait [expectantly] all the day long.6 Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercy and loving-kindness; for they have been ever from of old.7 Remember not the sins (the lapses and frailties) of my youth or my transgressions; according to Your mercy and steadfast love remember me, for Your goodness' sake, O Lord.8 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will He instruct sinners in [His] way.9 He leads the humble in what is right, and the humble He teaches His way.10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and steadfast love, even truth and faithfulness are they for those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.11 For Your name's sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity and my guilt, for [they are] great.12 Who is the man who reverently fears and worships the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that he should choose.13 He himself shall dwell at ease, and his offspring shall inherit the land.14 The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning. 15 My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He will pluck my feet out of the net.16 [Lord] turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted.17 The troubles of my heart are multiplied; bring me out of my distresses.18 Behold my affliction and my pain and forgive all my sins [of thinking and doing].19 Consider my enemies, for they abound; they hate me with cruel hatred.20 O keep me, Lord, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed or disappointed, for my trust and my refuge are in You.21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for and expect You.22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all their troubles.

Amplified Bible

My Thoughts About This Verse:

  • The key to hope is found in this verse when it shows how we need to set our lives before God.
  • If I set my life before my discouragements, I will be found wanting and hopeless. Setting my life before God, brings hope into it.
  • Trust must be in place before hope can be activated in our souls. Trust is the framework and hope is the garment.
  • Waiting is hopeful when activated by humility and teachableness and these two follow closely after willessness. Simply-Submit!
  • Hope functions in the purity of righteousness; sin stymies hope, distracting it from its supernatural purpose.
  • Where God's goodness flows freely, there you find a soul saturated in His hope.
  • Respect-Honor- Awe sets the atmosphere in your soul where hope can dominate your attitudes in an incredible and huge way.
  • The focus of a healthy hope is every towards the one Who invested His life for it and that would be our Lord Jesus Christ!
  • Even in times of great trial, God keeps us in His peace, His hope steadies us, delivering by way of His great promise.
  • If I wait on God, I wait in hope with all my expectations for the outcome submitted to His Sovereignty. He can!

Notes From Joyce Meyer TV program

Worry and fear does not meet your needs.

Guilt is what we have done that continues to haunt us

Insecurity is feeling like we don't measure up

Insecurity is a result of what you think about yourself

Our mind gives us continual trouble Proverbs 23:7 if we let it because where our thoughts to, we go.

Meditate: Roll the word over in your mind until it becomes a part of you and the information becomes revelation. Joyce Meyer

You can open or shut your mind to things like gossip, course jokes, forebodings, rumors.

Fear enters in by way of your thoughts and then creates

How will we learn if we think we know it all?

Acceptable Christian Attitude: I will not fear because God is with me always in the valley's and on the mountain tops

Romans 14:23 Worry, Sin, Guilt all sins because without faith, the attitude of fear is offensive to God.

Will you be strong or weak; conqueror or conquered; victor or victim

We battle with seeing ourselves in the right perspective.

Once you know who you are in Christ, everything changes

The Word of God is the only thing that divides soul/spirit

Differentiate between who you are in the flesh and who you are in the Spirit

#1 need is to know God

#2 need to know who you are in Christ

What you think and what you feel must line up with the Word of God

You study and meditate on the Word until you can differentiate who you are in Christ separate from who you are in the flesh

Ephesians 1:19 It is amazing how you will "feel" if you would just take the time to renew your mind.

Spiritually we are raised above this mess of the world

You feelings will catch up with your faith filled decisions

I am not afraid the problem because God is with me always
