Notes From Listening To 1 Corinthians 13
If I have not love, I am a clanging cymbal. All the gifts I have and all the faith I have, if I don't have love, I am nothing. If I give everything tothe poor and have not love… Love is patient, kind, does not envy does not boast is not easily angered… it keeps no records of wrongs… does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth, always protects, hopes and perseveres… love never fails… All things will cease, knowledge even will pass away… When perfection comes the imperfect disappears… when a child you think, reason as a child, when you mature you put these behind… you …. Now we see in part, then we will know fully and we are fully known… faith, hope and love are what will remain, but the greatest of these is love…
My Thoughts About These Verses:
Religiosity is a clanging cymbal that is aggravatingly loud, but has no deep tones of love. Without the Love of God in action in our lives and deeds, there is nothing of eternal value in the outcome. Love does not self seek, and its motives are pure. Love always hopes, so it cannot judge when it is persevering in hope. Jesus is perfection and when His love comes into our hearts, it changes the imperfection to right living, to selfless attitudes and motives based on His faith, His hope and His great love. The one thing that stands out most to me as a stumbling block to love is the record keeping we do of wrongs done to us. I know my pride bucks up and I think of my rights. Pride! How dare they do that to me! To me when we keep records of wrong doings against us, it becomes a bitterness list that burdens our soul. Bitterness hangs with pride and keeping a list of those who have wronged you, devours the love of Christ in your soul

Pride! How dare they do that to me! When we keep records of wrong doings against us, it becomes a bitterness list burdening our soul.

Job 27 Job Continues I Am Desperate
1 Job said: 2 I am desperate because God All-Powerful refuses to do what is right. As surely as God lives, 3 and while he gives me breath, 4 I will tell only the truth. 5 Until the day I die, I will refuse to do wrong by saying you are right, 6 because each day my conscience agrees that I am innocent. 7 I pray that my enemies will suffer no less than the wicked. 8 Such people are hopeless, and God All-Powerful will cut them down, 9 without listening when they beg for mercy. 10 And that is what God should do, because they don't like him or ever pray. 11 Now I will explain in detail what God All-Powerful does. 12 All of you have seen these things for yourselves. My Thoughts About This:
Job doesn't understand, he feels what is happening to him is not right, he knows it is not because of him sinning, he knows his heart and he knows it was right before God. Yet, he still doesn't understand why he is suffering. We all know why, because we saw God put His Kingdom purposes in play. I do believe when things happen to us that we don't understand and they seem to be from the enemy, that we do need to check our hearts, and then we need to trust God without understanding, because His Kingdom purposes are in play. Job's suffering was not about him, it was all about God putting into play a greater purpose and those of us who are suffering, we can take hope in the fact that Job in the end after all the Kingdom purposes of God were played out, after God played His hand, Job won huge! He was blessed by God! Job takes the opportunity to talk about the wicked, to use himself as an example how one day your life can be wonderful and the next awful, yet the wicked will not have the comfort of God or the hope of a future beyond their situation. When you are growing through something hard, just like Job, you look at the wicked and you think, Why do they have everything, and I nothing. It is human and nature to look at that, but you must know that God in an instant with absolute control over this earth can strip anyone, anyhow He wants. Their lives may seem secure in their "stuff" but it is not their money can't buy them the future inheritance we have.
When something is out of control in your life-you can't fix it- know Kingdom purposes are in play-God will trump-truth and win the hand!
My Thoughts About This:
Honestly, I need to be more aware of the Holy Spirit in my life. He is the Breath of God! The Holy Spirit can breathe a freshness in my spirit every day! The Holy Spirit will take your life where He wishes and it us always for your best. As I bow before God each morning, I must learn to also breathe in the fresh, new wind of the Holy Spirit.

My Thoughts About These Verses:
This verse really spoke to me about not striving to do anything in the flesh! No Confidence In Me… All Confidence In God In Me! I realize just how much the Holy Spirit is so00000 available to us. In need to take deep breaths all throughout the day of His strength, His wisdom, His Love and His Joy! I know from moment to moment and choice by choice, He is Omnipresent and it is my thought that I must have an Omnipresent Reality Check from time to time in my day, so I can have His power in the all of the everything of my day. We can have fearless confidence, steadfast patience and endurance throughout our day, because of the Holy Spirit in us! I can have a day of success, even if my situation is hard, I can fully accomplish the purposes of God through the good and the bad times! The whole point in this verse hinges on I can have a day of success, even if my situation is hard, I can fully accomplish the purposes of God through the good and the bad times!

Faith Living. "For we live by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7
Faith living is focused on God living. It is the road less traveled. Even for believers in Jesus Christ, faith living is not always predominant. Why settle for anything less? If we limit ourselves to our efforts, our logic, and what we can see, then we only tip God with our faith. He is calling us beyond the honeymoon stage of our faith to mature faith. A faith that only thinks of the past is anemic and stunted. Faith alive is focused on God's vision for the future. It is caught up in the possibilities of today with no fear of tomorrow.
"By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going." (Hebrews 11:8)
Faith living enjoys God's ability to create. For example, He can create resourceful relational opportunities, as He is the connector par excellent. By faith He can be trusted to lead you to just the right people. People whom you can serve and people who can join you to accomplish God's will. Determine ways to bring value to the other person. It is not about what you can get from them. It is all about how you can serve them.
Moreover, faith living is not irresponsible living. This is not some blind excursion that ignores the needs of your spouse and children. It is wrought with prayer and godly advice. This implies that faith living is not lived in a vacuum. It is living in concert with those around you. Abraham went by faith to a new country and cared for his family.
"By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise" (Hebrews 11:9).
Yes, it requires sacrifice and service, but not in the guise of unwise decision-making. Faith living trusts God's timing. It does not rush into battle without weapons or a plan. You trust God to prepare you and provide for you the needed resources to carry out his will. You are no match for Satan without the weapons of spiritual warfare.
Furthermore, trust the Lord with how He has gifted you. Your part is to become more self aware of your strengths and weaknesses. Allow God and others to leverage your strengths and shore up your weaknesses. Be who God created you to be and come alive in Christ. Pursue Him, live by faith and execute His will. Live by faith and not by sight. Faith living is the only way to live for God. You are not really alive until you live by faith in Jesus!How can I better position my life to live by faith and not by sight?

LOL! I have to admit, I am really alive!!! I can't do this, being apart from Bob, except by God's strength and faith that He has good purposes at work! I like Habbakkuk 2:4 it really speaks to my situation. This is your vision, your plan for us, for this appointed time and I know it because it was funded by Your miracle. It is not exactly or probably NOT what I would have planned for me, but just the promise in this verse soothes my loneliness, because I know You have an end fulfillment, a Kingdom purpose that is greater than my loneliness, that is Kingdom infinite! When my will bucks up and I get angry about my situation, pride steers my way and nothing is right within me. But when I submit myself to Your plan, completely believing in You, trusting You, I am living by faith and in the blessing of faithfulness
Habbakkuk 2: 3-4 For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance (aphesis) to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty (aphesis) them that are bruised,
The Greek word 'aphesis' means forgiveness. But in this particular verse it's translated as both deliverance and liberty. Isn't it interesting that deliverance and liberty are directly tied together with forgiveness? One of the most effective tools the enemy uses to steal our joy is unforgiveness. With just a little foothold of unforgiveness in our lives, we can easily become bound with chains of bitterness, resentment, anger and rage. If we let that foothold linger without dealing with it, eventually it will lead to our own self-destruction.
Kimberly, let's not let the unrighteous actions of others toward us become a stumbling block in our walk. We have been forgiven much and in the same way, we must release those who've hurt us to the Lord. But when we release them, I think we'll find that the person we'll really be releasing is ourselves!
My Thoughts About This:
This is so true. I know after many years of trying to change someone, I could not change them. After a while, you have to stop chasing those who don't want to be caught, but when you stop chasing them make sure you don't leave the stumbling block of unforgiveness in the path back to you. It is so true when you forgive someone, you totally release yourself. The bible days to do your part to make peace and if you do your part and they don't want peace, then walk away and be released by the path of forgiveness and prayer you set your feet on.
