A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Genesis 39:6-9

6 He left all that he owned under Joseph's authority; he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome. 7 After some time his master's wife looked longingly at Joseph and said, "Sleep with me." 8 But he refused. "Look," he said to his master's wife, "with me ?here? my master does not concern himself with anything in his house, and he has put all that he owns under my authority. 9 No one in this house is greater than I am. He has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. So how could I do such a great evil and sin against God?"

Matthew 4:1-3 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. 2 After He had fasted 40 days and 40 nights, He was hungry. 3 Then the tempter approached Him and said, "If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."

Dear Bob and Kim I was taught in Bible College that Joseph was a "type" of Christ in the Old Testament. Like Jesus, he was tempted but he chose to follow a path of righteousness and honor to God.

When Jesus walked this earth He was fully God and fully man. Not 50/50, but 100/100. His first miracle was turning water into wine, but His testing was His great temptation in the Wilderness took place when he was his weakest, after He had fasted for 40 days and nights.

When a person comes to Christ, either for the first time or as a recommitment, he or she will face many choices that impact his or her future as servants of God. We all will be tested, maybe not exactly the way Jesus was tested or even the way Joseph was tested, but we will be tested. What is the test? We are constantly tested to see how strong our RESOLVE is to serve the LORD with all our heart, all our mind and all our strength?

Every day we must make choices. Every morning God's people must renew their resolve not to be tempted away from the truth of God's word by our sinful nature. Every day when we leave our prayer closets and go out into the world we are going to be tempted. We will be tempted to keep our mouth shut when God gives us opportunities to share the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will be tempted to do nothing when God shows us an opportunity to do something for His Kingdom. We will be tempted to join in with unholy conversation that brings no glory to God. We will be tempted to be spiritually lazy and to pray lackadaisical prayer to see if gets past the ceiling instead of approaching God's throne with all humility and reverence. AND there will be many other temptations for us to act unrighteously. Let's pray for each other to resolve each morning to walk worthy of our calling and be that Ambassador for Christ that He has called us to be.

Pastor Elliott

My Thoughts About This:

May it be so in us, in each of us. We Are The Bride Of Christ! We Are The Bride Of Christ! We Are The Bride Of Christ! We must settle it in our hearts, Whose we are and Where we truly belong. Part of our resolve is knowing this and acting on it. It is time for the Bride of Christ to step up, we may be no match for the enemy in these times of lawlessness, but in Christ, through Jesus we are simply-significantly His servant-warriors in Holy Alignment with His Sovereign Kingdom Purpose.... Infinitely So!

  • In Christ, we are strong in despite our weakness- our human condition!
  • In Christ we are wise despite our foolish nature!
  • In Christ we are discerning despite the confusion in our times!
  • In Christ our minds can be renewed, despite the wickedness of our culturalism!
  • In Christ we are never lost to the will of this world, despite this season of time!
  • In Christ we can say yes to AWE-GOD and no to prevalent self-indulgent excesses!
  • In Christ we have a place despite our lives being here in this world where we do not fit!
  • In Christ we have joy, despite our tears of frustration, lost battles and trouncing here!
  • In Christ we have a strong refuge, despite the warfare all around us!
  • In Christ we have a Waymaker despite the dead ends we see!
  • In Christ we have eternal hope despite the death we face in this corrupting world!
  • Omnipresent Reality Check! We Are The Bride Of Christ! Settle It!

The best position for us as we begin each day is on our knees before our Commander and Chief of the Kingdom of God, our real home. As Servant Warriors fighting the temptations of this era, our 1st step out each day is down. Have you bowed today? This is the question on our lips to each other. Bow! Bow before our AWE-GOD! Humbly-Reverently-Submissively-Willessly Bow In Awe and wait to be filled with the all of His everything. It is my hope Pastor Elliott to echo this cry throughout the nations: We Are The Bride Of Jesus Christ! It is time to be The Bride Of Christ, It is time to Talk Up His Kingdom and fight His good fight to bring as many as we can with us to His Kingdom! We will be tempted to be less than what we are, to give up, to not fight, to give in during hard times, yes we will, but together we can help each other, encourage each other, forebear with each other and shore each other up with God's Grace and constantly remind each other: We Are The Bride Of Christ! Oh My Gosh… let it sink in and settle it!

We will not ever have a place to fit in this world, we may always feel invisible here. We will not be kings and queens of this world. If we lose much here, we have not lost anything. Don't be tempted to look at what you have lost here, focus on what You have received from Jesus Christ, focus on the citizenship of His Kingdom you have gained in Him. Stop chasing after what you have lst or are losing here on this earth and pursue what has been gifted you by AWE-GOD! Pursue Jesus, His righteousness and your eternal inheritance. Seek 1st The Kingdom of God!

For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

Matthew 16 Listening To And Writing My Heart:

Pharisees tested Jesus, show us a sign. You know how to interpret the sky but you can't interpret the sings of times. None will be given you. Be on your guard from the yeast of the Pharisees. You of little faith! Why do you not understand after all I have faithfully done for you. How is it you don't understand? Be on your guard against the yeast, the teachings of the Pharisees. Who do people say the son of man is? Some say John The Baptist… but what about You He asked. Who Do You Say I am? You Are the Christ, The Son of the Living God. Jesus replied blessed are you, for this was not revealed to you by man but by my Father in heaven… The gates of Hades will not overcome it… whatever you bind on earth will be bond in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Jesus told his disciples he must suffer for salvation, killed and raised to life. Peter said never… Jesus said: get behind me satan, you are a stumbling block to me because you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men… You must lose your life to save your life, whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will be for a man who gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul. The Son of God will come in glory with His angels and He will reward all men for what they have done. Who Do You Say I Am? You Are The Christ, The Son Of The Living God! We Are The Bride Of Christ! http://kimberlymac.blogspot.com Matt 16:25

So we keep talking. And talking.

But the Truth will always remain that . . .

We can speak of life. But God's Word creates life.

We can speak of love. But God's Word accomplishes Love.

We can speak of hope. But God's Word produces hope.

We can speak of justice. But God's Word achieves justice.

We can speak of heaven. But God's Word opens heaven.

In the digital environment of streaming words and scrolling wisdom, it's easy to forget that God's Word achieves in one whisper what the world's 6,900 known languages fail to achieve in a choir of intellect and persuasion.

The Word of God:

Lives forever. For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 1 Peter 1:23

Overcomes evil. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. 1 John 2:14

Penetrates hearts. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Opens eyes. The prophecy of one who hears the words of God, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened. Numbers 24:4

Nourishes the hungry. Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Matt 4:4

Protects those who use it. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph. 6:17

Goes viral on its own. In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power. Acts 19:20

Wins every time. For no word from God will ever fail. Luke 1:37

So today, if you haven't done so already, forfeit your most brilliant words and allow God's Word to stream (and tweet) through you.

My Thoughts About This:

Thank you! Very powerfully put!  We Are The Bride Of Christ!  We Must Settle IT!  We Are The Bride Of Christ! We Must Be.... Completely His!  He is simply-significantly our enough.  Whose we are is enough! We Are The Bride Of Christ!

We Are The Bride Of Christ! Who We Are Is Simply-Significantly Enough! Always Remember- Never Forget! Settle It! We Are The Bride Of Christ!

charles spurgeon devotional

"Only ye shall not go very far away."

Exodus 8:28

This is a crafty word from the lip of the arch-tyrant Pharaoh. If the poor bondaged Israelites must needs go out of Egypt, then he bargains with them that it shall not be very far away; not too far for them to escape the terror of his arms, and the observation of his spies. After the same fashion, the world loves not the non-conformity of nonconformity, or the dissidence of dissent; it would have us be more charitable and not carry matters with too severe a hand. Death to the world, and burial with Christ, are experiences which carnal minds treat with ridicule, and hence the ordinance which sets them forth is almost universally neglected, and even condemned. Worldly wisdom recommends the path of compromise, and talks of "moderation." According to this carnal policy, purity is admitted to be very desirable, but we are warned against being too precise; truth is of course to be followed, but error is not to be severely denounced. "Yes," says the world, "be spiritually minded by all means, but do not deny yourself a little gay society, an occasional ball, and a Christmas visit to a theatre. What's the good of crying down a thing when it is so fashionable, and everybody does it?" Multitudes of professors yield to this cunning advice, to their own eternal ruin. If we would follow the Lord wholly, we must go right away into the wilderness of separation, and leave the Egypt of the carnal world behind us. We must leave its maxims, its pleasures, and its religion too, and go far away to the place where the Lord calls his sanctified ones. When the town is on fire, our house cannot be too far from the flames. When the plague is abroad, a man cannot be too far from its haunts. The further from a viper the better, and the further from worldly conformity the better. To all true believers let the trumpet-call be sounded, "Come ye out from among them, be ye separate."

My Thoughts About This:

We accept Christ and our enemy is not far from us. He waits to see if we will wholly give our lives over to God, to Whose we are and to Where we belong. We belong to Jesus! We are His, bought with the price of His blood. We Are The Bride Of Christ! I pray Jesus you settle this in each of our hearts today! The worlds' cry is: everybody does it. The Bride Of Christ says: "I am not everybody, I am God's special, uniquely called out one. I belong to Jesus, I Am The Bride Of Christ!"

Wisdom Hunters: Boyd Bailey: Sober Self-Assessment

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Romans 12:3

A proper perspective of oneself fosters sound judgment—this begins with surrender and submission to Jesus. However, an enlarged ego clouds our judgment, like an early morning drive over a fog covered bridge we have a limited, even a skewed view of reality. If we speed up, we are destined to an unpleasant outcome. It is when we see our capacity larger than the Lord sees our capacity—then we tend to follow the temptation of trusting in our abilities over faith Him.

Ego forgets God's word and foolishly embraces counsel contrary to Christ. We make decisions based on our limited emotional view without inviting the wisdom of two or three objective advisors who know our situation and us well. Unsound judgment seeks out only the answer it is looking for and ignores wise warnings. Indeed, an enlarged ego entangles itself with insecure thinking and feels the need to be the center of attention.

However, sound judgment does just the opposite. It is fearful of forging advice from friends who do not fear the Lord. Sound judgment sees itself as an instrument of God's grace. It understands that Christ is the conductor over the orchestra of opportunities vying for your attention in everyday life. This is why faith in the Lord and staying under authority is the pathway to making wise decisions.

Jesus complimented a military leader who illustrated his sound judgment with statements like, "I am not worthy" [of Jesus' presence], and "I am a man under authority". Jesus followed up with a phrase of affirmation, "I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel" (Luke 7:6-9). Sound judgment listens to the truth, understands the truth and is transformed by the truth, all by faith.

Lastly, don't flagellate your faith with false humility. Paul describes those who try to sound spiritual, but ironically are prideful in their thinking, "Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions" (Colossians 2:18). They talk a lot about God, but they do little for God. Thinking too lowly of oneself is as unhealthy, as thinking too highly of oneself.

Instead, see yourself as your Savior does, forgiven and forever His child. You have nothing to prove when you rest in Him. You can be confident you are Christ's and that you are free from the guilt of sin. Appropriate His grace by faith and He will give you sound judgment. When grace is initiated, you will instinctively invite input from others and act accordingly. Sound judgment surrenders to its Savior Jesus and submits itself to its authorities. By God's grace have a modest self-assessment of your gifts and abilities.

"If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves" (Galatians 6:3).

How can I align the Lord's assessment of who I am—with how I see myself?

Related Readings: Deuteronomy 29:29; Psalms 131:1-2; 2 Corinthians 10:13-15; Colossians 2:18

The one thing that popped out at me more than the rest in this great piece of Godly wisdom was that if I am trying to prove something, then I am not resting in Him, in WHO He is. What is the Lord's assessment of Who I am? I think that begins at the cross. Seeing that He, The King of Heaven went to the cross for me, I am very valuable to Him. I have worth in Him. Help me to see myself through the worth Jesus showed me I have.

Psalm 131 A Pilgrim Song

God, I'm not trying to rule the roost, I don't want to be king of the mountain. I haven't meddled where I have no business or fantasized grandiose plans. 2 I've kept my feet on the ground, I've cultivated a quiet heart. Like a baby content in its mother's arms, my soul is a baby content.

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Kevin Wimbish    9:35am Jun 27

"He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD…The high places, however, were not removed…"

-2 Kings 15:3-4

This is a common sentence throughout the books of the kings in the Bible. Good men would come to the throne as king and do well and right in the eyes of the Lord…however. Many of these men, like Azariah, would stop just short of complete obedience to God. They would do plenty of "right", but wouldn't go all out for God in destroying the high places set up for idol worship. And because of their decisions, their people and their legacies suffered.

Where are those high places in your life…those things that you are not willing to destroy and rid your life of? What in your life are you choosing to tolerate, justified by the other "rights" that you are doing for the Kingdom? Tear down those high places, men…Go all out for God. Live strong—kf

By my good friend, Kory Flowers. Even good things can become more important to us than God, and therefore idols. If you're willing, examine your hearts today for such.

My Thoughts About This:

Thanks! Very awesome! I have to guard my heart all the time and check it to make sure that I don't make "ministry" my idol. Yes, ministry is a good thing, but not if it takes the place of my personal relationship with God. Sometimes ministry to others consumed me, my call consumed me instead of the ONE I was called to and for. I keep Isaiah 50:10-11 at the forefront of my heart, guarding it. When you have been in "ministry" as long as I have, it is easy to slip into just "doing" it, instead of "being" found in God. I have kindled my own fire in the past and walked by the light of a man made fire. I never want to do that again. Ever! So hold me accountable you all, this is an idol I have worshipped in the past!

Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

As we spoke across the United States these past months, it seems we were continually met with a spirit of apathy and a lack of understanding about the times in which we live. Despite all the things going on in the world today, the sense of urgency about the hour seemed lost among many.

Dr. Albert Bartlett, an expert on compounding, gave this scenario. Let's suppose you're sitting in a water tight baseball stadium which seats over 50,000 people, and you're handcuffed to the top bleacher. Let's say a single drop of water is placed in the center of the stadium and is allowed to double at a rate of 1 time per minute. In other words, 1 drop doubled, equals two drops added to the stadium. The next minute, two drops doubled equals four drops, next minute, four doubled equals eight, and so on.

How many minutes do you suppose you'd have before you'd drown? A few months? A few days? Get this -- how about 49 minutes?! That's right; it would take only 49 minutes to drown completely! What's even more remarkable is that at 44 minutes, the amount of water in the stadium would only be at 7%! Seriously, do the math!

You see, the real action takes place only in the last five minutes. It seems there is all the time in the world and then…perhaps this is one reason the scriptures say the Lord will come as a thief in the night!

I do not want to be sitting there in the top bleacher, oblivious and helpless -- do you? Those of us who are aware of the times have a key to the handcuffs -- discernment, wisdom and faith! We will begin preparing now for the times drawing nearer by the second!

Kimberly, let's get a sense of urgency about the hour in which we live. Let's pray earnestly, invest wisely, and be about His business while there's still time! There's SO much work to be done!

Romans 13:12

The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light.

It is not the quantity of faith, but the quality of faith, that is important. A grain of mustard seed and a pellet of dust are similar in appearance, but the differnce is immense. The one has no life burning at the heart of it, while the other contains life as God kindled it. Faith that has in it the principle of life is a faith with God in it.

Frederick Brotherton ( F. B. ) Meyer

Worship is the test of the authenticity of any conversion, whether to Christianity or some other religion. But the factor that distinguishes our faith from every other creed is the intimacy of our relationship with the living God.

Tom Inglis

Sin comes when we take a perfectly natural desire or longing or ambition and try desperately to fulfill it without God. Not only is it sin, it is a perverse distortion of the image of the Creator in us. All these good things, and all our security, are rightly found only and completely in him.

Augustine

A Minute With Maxwell

Consistent

Anyone who is successful embraces the word. It is not a charismatic word, but it is a word that works. Successful people understand that they can't reach the potential they could reach without consistency. Consistency is the ability to do the right thing regardless whether the odds are for you or the circumstances for you. If you want greatness, go to consistency this is the path that will eventually lead you to greatness.

My Thoughts About This:

This word evokes a lot of thoughts. I remember what John says we need to do.. think and write everyday! I think of my relationship with Jesus when you talk about consistency. If I want to be on the path of His greatness, I must be consistent in my relationship with Him. Constant-Consistent Communication with God does give me the ability to do the right thing no matter what is happening around me. I do want to be deeply related with my AWE-GOD and I can't do that without consistency in my relationship with Him. It is funny you used the word charismatic and said it does not describe consistent. So True! Christianity is charismatic in many ways and consistency is the anchor that keeps the boat in the right harbor. Being charismatic in our Christianity sometimes flows us into a cultural rip tide, but consistency in our relationship with God, keeps us close to our Kingdom shore, while we navigate our cultural assignments. Consistent is a word I see as a living legacy that should be lived and passed down from generation to generation.

Strength:

A lot o people have outward strength, but not inward strength. Outward strength fades as you grow older, inner strength as you grow older, carefully taken care of grows stronger.

10 Steps to Becoming a Hero

. Open your heart. Allow His love to take root and fill you to the edges. Don't be afraid to let God fill you with so much love it breaks your heart.  (Ephesians 16-18)

2.  Ask God where to begin. When you pray according to His will, He answers. God 's Word makes it clear His priority for the poor, the needy and the suffering He will show you what you need to see. (Isaiah 48:17)

3. Pay attention. Brokenness, suffering, and hurt are living next door, in your neighborhood, at your workplace, in your church, and in your online communities. Listen. Hear, and respond to what's happening in the lives of others. Look for the need that's right before you. (Deuteronomy 15:7)

4.  Investigate. There are many organizations that have great momentum and others are just getting started. Take the time to explore what various groups and organizations are doing. Align what you find with what you know God wants you to do. (Acts 17:11)

5. Discover what compels you. You've already asked God to guide you so trust Him to prick your heart and give you the desire to serve. (II Corinthians 5:14)

6.  Learn more. Most organizations are good about giving you multiple ways to serve and support the work being done. Think through what you can do in the short-term and set goals about how you can help in the long-term. (Proverbs 1:5)

7. Commit resources. Don't just determine what you can give, but stretch yourself. Then commit to give it. Use this as an opportunity to demonstrate and build your own faithfulness. (Proverbs 22:9)

8.  Inform others. Amplify the work of your chosen ministry or organization. Take it viral and spread the word about it to family, friends, and followers. Communicate often about what you are doing and the difference it makes. Live out your faith and support. (I Thessalonians 1:3)

9.  Invite others. The scriptures remind us that we don't have because we don't ask. Never underestimate the power of what happens when you personally ask someone to join or support you. Don't rob someone else the joy of giving and making a difference with you. (I Timothy 6:18)

10. Be a champion. Obey what Jesus is calling you to so. Don't miss your assignment and role in His master plan. It's your time to be His hands and feet in the world today. (II John 1:6)

We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that. This enables us to do something, and to do it very well. It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, and an opportunity for the Lord's grace to enter and do the rest. - Oscar Romero

With an open heart, hands and feet ready to serve, dare to utter the words, "Send me Lord, I will go for You." #LiveSticky

My Thoughts About This:

Sometimes ministry to others consumed me, my call consumed me instead of the ONE I was called to and for. I keep Isaiah 50:10-11 at the forefront of my heart. Thank you! Very awesome! Just one comment! Followship is a call to God1st! He is our true Hero, we are a reflection of His Heroism acted out on our behalf. We can be a Hero because He is one and was ONE 1st! AWE-GOD!

AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

I, Kimberly Ann McCarthy am destined to live in the glory of Your strength and not worry or fear anything, because all things belong to You. I will turn to You in prayer in all the circumstances and situations of my day.

Verse Of The Day@biblegateway.com

Jeremiah 23:24

24 Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?" declares the LORD. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the LORD.

My Notes From Listening to Chapter 23 of Jeremiah:

Whoa to the shepherds destroying the sheep of my pasture, they will be punished. I will scatter the remnant and place shepherds over them and they will no longer be terrified. I will raise up a righteous branch who will reign wisely. The Lord our Righteousness. The days are coming as surely as the Lord lives, they will say as surely as the Lord lives who brought the descents of Israel out of banishment and they will live in their own land. I am like a man overcome by wine because of the Lord and His Holy Word… don't' use your power unjustly, don't be godless, your path will become slippery and banished to darkness, disaster will come. Don't lead the people astray, don't commit adultery, don't live a lie and strengthen hands of evil doers… I will make them eat bitter food and drink poison water because ungodliess has spread throughout the land. Do not listen to the prophets fill you with false hopes speaks visions from their own mind not from mouth of the Lord… Which stand in the counsel of the Lord to see and hear His word, listen and hear his word? The anger of the Lord will not turn back until He fully accomplishes the purpose of Hi heart. If they stood in my counsel they would have proclaimed my words and turn people from evil always… I am not a God far away, I fill heaven and earth, I hear what is said, I hear the lies. People talk up the delusions of their own mind so they think they can forget my name. My word is to be spoken faithfully. My word is like fire, like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces. Don't steal words from one another… don't wag your tongue and declare the Lord declares. Don't prophecy false dreams, reckless lies, I have not sent or appointed those who do this. The oracle of the Lord? What oracle… What is the Lords answer, what has the Lord spoken, every mans own word becomes his oracle do not distort the words of the Lord. What has the Lord spoken? You use the words… even though I told you not too. Therefore, I will forget you and cast you out of your home, I will bring upon You everlasting shame that will not be forgotten.

My Thoughts About This:

God was so serious about His Word, it was to be held in high esteem, it was to be respected, it was to be proclaimed in the fullness of truth. Right living is important to God, holding truth in high esteem. He see's everything, so why do we think we can deceive Him, even that is part of our great deception! His Word is to be spoken in the fullness of truth with reverence and to be spoken faithfully with service to Him. His Word is to be taken at full value, not to be changed to meet our needs.

Responsible Grace

"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" Romans 6:1-2

Grace is a gift from God, one that requires responsible and wise stewardship. Grace is not a license to sin, but permission to live. Grace is all about living for God and walking with Him. It engages with eternity by approaching God's throne of grace with gratitude, awe, and boldness. God's grace is a guarantee of eternal life. It is absolutely amazing because Christ collateralizes it. There has never been a shortage of your Savior's grace.

No group or individual has ever made a run on heaven's grace account. You can go to the bank with God's grace. It is as everlasting as the Lord. However, though unlimited in supply, it may be the most underused resource available. People miss grace when they thrash around and stumble about in their own strength. They apply bad theology. They believe in salvation by grace through faith, but then drift into living in their own strength. Demons must chuckle when they observe Christians applying dead works.

Working to earn God's favor after receiving salvation is as futile as it was before salvation. Do not fall into the trap of graceless living, for grace is God's remedy for the self-indulgent. Grace values community with people and communing with Christ. There is a spirit of acceptance and peace with those who often receive and apply God's grace.

Learn to use grace responsibly. Grace is not a safety net for your fall into sin, for sin still has its consequences. Grace is not an excuse to sin and is not your pass for disobedience. Harsh judgment and extremes are natural outcomes for graceless Christians. Grace is, more than anything, an honorable motivation for your attitude and actions. Without grace, you gravitate toward pride for not sinning. Yes, grace is a governor on your behavior, but it does not promote pride.

Grace means you have a stewardship of wise choices to manage for the Lord. It gives you permission to be free in Christ, but your freedom is for Him. His kingdom agenda is what drives grace. Grace integrates all of life around faith. Christ does not compartmentalize the sacred from the secular. Grace includes, it doesn't exclude. It discloses rather than hides. Sin is subservient to your Savior's grace.

Grace gives you the perspective and power for forgiveness and honesty. It is the delivery channel of truth. Grace is your excuse for extending forgiveness and second and third chances—and more—to culprits. Use grace to remove sin's stain from any fibers of your faith. Indeed, as you extend grace, you are more likely to receive grace. Be responsible with grace, and you will be trusted with more. Grace saved you from sin; so don't go back to your pre-grace condition. Because of grace, you are free from sin, not free to sin. Therefore, be a responsible and gracious follower of Christ.

My Thoughts About This:

The one thing I hear reverberating through this is responsibility! Grace and responsibility walk side by side. Grace does not walk in front or responsibility does not lead, they stand together, side by side. Grace and Responsibility! One without the other is dysfunction-corruption to both.

Got Your Back

"But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard." Isaiah 52:12

God's got your back--there is no need to panic and flee, but stand firm by faith. His righteous rear guard is a godly garrison against an ever-scheming enemy. Unbelief will assault your blindside, but do not surrender to fears facade. Release your inhibitions to intimacy with Jesus and trust Him to guide you in His ways. A believer backed by God can be bold to carry on.

The glory of God has your back. His glory not only illuminates your path going forward, but He leads you backwards into needed retreats for renewal. A soul cannot be sustained by constant good activity, but requires regular solace and solitude with its Savior Jesus. Spiritual armor: the sword of the spirit, the breastplate of righteousness and the helmet of salvation cover your front, but your heavenly Father's glory covers your back. He protects your vulnerable areas.

"Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness[a] will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard" (Isaiah 58:8).

Where do you feel vulnerable? With your finances--God's got your back. With sharing your emotions--God's got your back. With your job security--God's got your back. With your physical health--God's got your back. With your marriage--God's got your back. With your social skills--God's got your back. With your education--God's got your back. With your spiritual maturity--God's got your back. Rest in the One who is vigilant to defend His own.

You don't have to be defensive when you are confident of Christ's divine defense. Critical distractors will attempt to shoot arrows of animosity into your back, but their jealousy is no match for Jehovah's secure protection. A back, backed by the Lord, does not have to back down from believing big things. Trust Jesus and avoid worry of what might surprise you from behind. Heaven has your back; so hell is unable to blindside your belief.

"Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound as the glory of the LORD rose from the place where it was standing" (Ezekiel 3:12).

What fears can I give over to God, because He's got my back?

God's got your back. Rest in the One who is vigilant to defend His own.

I love that so much! God is for us! We are the Bride of Christ! He is vigilant to defend us. We belong to Almighty God! Oh My Gosh… I need to get this! God Is For Me! God's Got My Back! God's Got It! Help me Lord to act this out in my day to day situations.

Casting Crowns Who I Am

Phil 4: The Amplified Bible

6Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. 7And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 8For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

A Minute With Maxwell

Achiever

A person who has been successful and accomplished. Was in one position gone to a hiher position. What do we achieve? Work hard to be successful for ourselves. Do we achieve for the benefit of others? Success is what I do for myself and significance is what I do for others. Success is not enough, being an achiever is not enough unless we are benefiting other people!

Educate

Education rightfully understood is about opening our mind to truth and learning, the more we become educated, the more we are receptive to new ideas and change. Too many times we take educate and make it a noun, instead of a life plan for action, growing, creativity. When we finish our education and are finished growing we don't understand education. We use our education to be open, learn and to grow.

Expectations:

Nothing gives a person greater hope than to have higher expectations. Expectations and realities are very far apart at time and disappointment is the gap between expectations and reality. You want ot have a gap because it stretches you, makes you climb out of your comfort zone. Expectation need to be above your reality, but not so far above that it brings disappointment. Have enough expectation to bring you hope not too much to make you feel helpless.

Contribution:

WE are blessed on the receiving end and the giving end of contribution. Taking in and giving out! Taking in is fun, wonderful to seize opportunity. Mathematical terms 10 to 1! For the one that I receive in money, opportunities, events, things I can say, do or be is a 10 to what I give you. Make money, give money. The contribution is 10 to 1 of the receiving. You have to make it to give it. Don't be a reservoir, be a river and let it flow.

charles spurgeon devotional

Charles Spurgeon

"Thou art fairer than the children of men."

Psalm 45:2

The entire person of Jesus is but as one gem, and his life is all along but one impression of the seal. He is altogether complete; not only in his several parts, but as a gracious all-glorious whole. His character is not a mass of fair colours mixed confusedly, nor a heap of precious stones laid carelessly one upon another; he is a picture of beauty and a breastplate of glory. In him, all the "things of good repute" are in their proper places, and assist in adorning each other. Not one feature in his glorious person attracts attention at the expense of others; but he is perfectly and altogether lovely.

Oh, Jesus! thy power, thy grace, thy justice, thy tenderness, thy truth, thy majesty, and thine immutability make up such a man, or rather such a God-man, as neither heaven nor earth hath seen elsewhere. Thy infancy, thy eternity, thy sufferings, thy triumphs, thy death, and thine immortality, are all woven in one gorgeous tapestry, without seam or rent. Thou art music without discord; thou art many, and yet not divided; thou art all things, and yet not diverse. As all the colours blend into one resplendent rainbow, so all the glories of heaven and earth meet in thee, and unite so wondrously, that there is none like thee in all things; nay, if all the virtues of the most excellent were bound in one bundle, they could not rival thee, thou mirror of all perfection. Thou hast been anointed with the holy oil of myrrh and cassia, which thy God hath reserved for thee alone; and as for thy fragrance, it is as the holy perfume, the like of which none other can ever mingle, even with the art of the apothecary; each spice is fragrant, but the compound is divine.

"Oh, sacred symmetry! oh, rare connection

Of many perfects, to make one perfection!

Oh, heavenly music, where all parts do meet

In one sweet strain, to make one perfect sweet!"

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Revelation 7:14-17

14 I said to him, "Sir, you know." Then he told me: These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

15 For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. The One seated on the throne will shelter them: 16 no longer will they hunger; no longer will they thirst; no longer will the sun strike them, or any heat. 17 Because the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will shepherd them; He will guide them to springs of living waters, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Dear Bob and Kim,

I am going to start out with a controversial statement this morning. I try not to get controversial in these morning devotionals, but this morning I feel it is necessary because I fear for some of my loved ones who are taking a huge risk with their eternal future. I believe you have friends and loved ones with the same situation.

A pastor/friend of mine recently told me that we are now in the Great Tribulation because of the increase in the number of earthquakes, tornado, and wars. Let me be clear; I do not believe we are in the Great Tribulation; I believe the Great Tribulation lies in the future, but it can be upon us very quickly. Those who are not ready for the rapture, those not saved, will suffer through the Great Tribulation. We are now 2000 years closer to that time than when the Apostle John was given this Revelation from God.

People who have been misled to a form of Christianity that prevents them from a real relationship with Messiah will go through the Great Tribulation. Those who do not know Him will suffer for seven years before the Messiah comes to end the suffering. It is the purpose and responsibility of all Christians, the redeemed, to lead all who will come, to a real relationship with Jesus Christ. Are you concerned enough that your loved ones and friends will have to suffer during the Seven Year Tribulation? Well, dear friend, there is something you can do about it.

I want to invite you to learn how to share Jesus without fear. Yes, that's right, Share Jesus Without Fear. What does that mean? Most of us don't confront our loved ones with the life saving truth of the gospel because we're afraid they will laugh or reject us. Bill Fay has developed a simple and quick way that you can use to share the gospel, the good news of eternal life with your loved ones without that concern. Interested? You should be. This is what the Lord Jesus has called you to do as a follower of His. It is your calling, your responsibility to tell people about Him.

Bill Fay is coming to teach us this simple and successful method of Sharing Jesus Without Fear. His books have been best sellers on the Christian scene for many years. He is coming to Faith Fellowship July 17th. if you ever wanted to learn how to share you faith and help your loved ones to come to Jesus and avoid the Great Tribulation and eternal damnation, this is your opportunity. Call Faith Fellowship at 336.846.3346 for more information or check our website www.faithfellowshipnc.org.

Do you sense an urgency to fulfill your calling today? Are fulfilling your purpose for God?

Father, I pray you grant us opportunities to share the truth and the love of God today before it is forever too late for so many. May the gospel be ever on our hearts and minds. I pray the Holy Spirit prepare the hearts of those you bring our way today. In the name above all names I pray. AMEN.

Pastor Elliott

Psalm 121:7-8

The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Worry Is Wearisome

An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. Proverbs 12:25

Worry is wearisome. It is fatigue to our emotions like physical pain is to our bodies. Worry can trigger stomachaches, high blood pressure, headaches, anxiety disorders and depression. It is an enemy to executing a joy filled and productive life. Worry can so weigh you down that you are immobilized for lack of energy and because of fear.

Your family tree may have borne the fruit of worry over generations, but you can purge out obsession with negative thinking through trust in the Lord. Jesus' teaching is very clear, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:33-34).

Exercised trust energizes the weary.??Your personality may lend itself to worry. You can see it in your furrowed brow, or in your brooding countenance. You worry about the economy and its effect on your retirement. You wring your hands over the war and wonder when it will ever end. You are stressed out over work, because of situations and people you are unable to change. Anxiety may have paralyzed you as a parent, because you don't feel qualified to carry out your responsibilities.

Alcohol has become your outlet for those things that you cannot control, but the gnawing fear is still there the next day. One simple solution is to make a two-column prayer list with the headings 'Things I can't change' and 'Things I can change'. Ask God for faith and patience with the former and wisdom and courage to act on the later. Prayer is your time-tested prescription for worry:

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6)."??

Furthermore, look for those who long to be encouraged, who feel trapped by the anxieties of life (Luke 21:34). They need the truth of God's word, because the cares of this world try to marginalize the truth. Truth can be forgotten in the fearful suffering of severe trials. Your kind words remind them of Christ's care and concern for their health, their family and their faith.

Lift yourself and others out of the downward spiral of depression by cheering them up with truth. Read the Bible out loud with a friend and meditate on its promises that are filled with hope and encouragement. Use uncertainty as a reason not to worry, but rest in the Lord. You are freed up when you don't fret, but apply faith instead. Above all else, His word wins over worry and gives strength for your faith journey!

Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God" (Matthew 4:4).

AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

I Kimberly Ann McCarthy will not participate in the ease and excess of my culture today, I will simply-significantly be completely Yours, being found on the path of Your Kingdom purposes at play all around me, therefore, stepping out in this day with an eternal edge keeps the sacrifice in salvation and makes a forever difference!

God is often silent when we prefer that he speak, and he interrupts us when we prefer that he stay silent. His ways are not our ways. To live with the sacred God of creation means that we conduct our lives with a God who does not explain himself to us. It means that we worship a God who is often mysterious - too mysterious to fit our formulas for better living. It means that God is not our best friend, our secret lover or our good-luck charm. He is God. Craig Barnes

a.w.tozer quotes from "the knowledge of the holy"

#AWE-GOD! Not man only, but everything that exists came out of and is dependent upon the continuing creative impulse. A.W.Tozer

One of the marks of God's image in man is his ability to exercise moral choice. A.W. Tozwer

The natural man is a sinner because and only because he challenges God's selfhood in relation to his own. In all else he may willingly accept the sovereignty of God; in his own life he rejects it. For him, God's dominion ends where his begins. For him, self becomes SELF, and in this he unconsciously imitates Lucifer, that fallen son of the morning who said in his heart, "I wil ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God… I will be like the Most High."

*My THOUGHTS: GODS THOUGHTS = My Learning=Heart Change*

Isn't this the whole truth. He just puts it out there, 100% Kingdom Truth! I love his writing. It is very eye opening. I have struggled with this my entire walk with God. Staying positioned underneath God's authority and not taking out on my own. Not kindling my own fires and walking by the light of a man made fire. I think the more we hear this, the more we see it, the more we change it to not be so! I think we were made to be reflection of God, not to be God. So the whole thing is whether we stand in God's Light and reflect it or we become our own source of Light!

Exhortation- The Shepherd's Communicated Love-Wisdom!

My God Thoughts About Online Ministry!

Just to follow up from what Oscar was saying about how we as chat hosts need to be more proactive in our chats, be more engaging in the conversations. Online ministry is such a whole new thing. God is doing something new and just like He asked us in Isaiah 43: I am doing something new. Will you not know it? I find that for myself, I have to let go of the old and let God lead and teach me about online ministry. As a chat host, it has been kind of a new God adventure for me. Honestly, I was not sure about online ministry when I first started. I kind of was like: Oh My God, are you kidding me? You want me to what???? I did not think it was viable ministry. I was used to face to face, teaching, sharing, discipleship and counseling where I had the visual aids of body language and sight! Online ministry has stretched me to a new level in my walk with God. I found it to be kind of like the old saying: The blind leading the blind! LOL! I had to change a lot of things, the way I did things. Actually God has changed them. From what I have learned these past three years, I realize the bottom line goal for online ministry is not tangible seen results by us, but is on our part a challenge to make sure everyone who comes into your chat, leaves your chat encouraged by God. Just like Oscar was saying Tuesday at our meeting, we need to get more involved in our chats, be used by God for what could be one of those once in a life time divine appointments.

One thing I have learned is you can't have your own agenda. I know in teaching, discipling, counseling you have a plan, most of the time it is a God-given plan and you stick to it and you feel like you accomplish it. But in online ministry-mentoring, it is spontaneous ministry that does not fit any plan because the variable is always new as God sets up divine appointments, it is kind of like a fraction where the common denominator is always God and the rest is always changing. So followship is key in online ministry. You kind of have to toss out the old way of teaching-discipling-counseling. As a chat host or someone in online ministry you have to be open to be reshaped by God, the old way doesn't fit into this new wineskin of online ministry. Online chat doesn't usually fit into the goal orientated teaching-discipling. I find it is more about well... I know this sounds weird but being willing to take the time to chase down a lot of bunny trails as a chat host, and directing the conversation by God's Spirit and Truth, detouring to the road of encouragement.

People are always working out their salvation, that is what we do as pre-christians and Christians and in a class room or a face to face small group setting, you have more visual insight, but online ministry does not afford you that luxury to see, or even to make a good guess about the person's heart motives, to be able to even see if their motives for being there are pure. Online you are only being led by God's sight- by the Spirit, you have no glasses to make things clearer to you, you are depending on God's sight= discernment.

The goal of online ministry is encouragement; everyone leaves your chat encouraged by God even if you have to deviate from your "plan" and take time to chase down a bunny trail with them. You have to give time to let people "flesh out" their thoughts and then you lead them by their thoughts to God's truth. This is true caring communication and that is the foundation to online chats and online mentoring.  In doing this, you value them, you value what they feel, yet they still end up with truth and they feel encouraged and they want to come back for more of God.  They are thinking and sharing feelings, opinions, perceptions based on what they see through their experiences with the truth at hand, you have to let that bunny trail stretch out some and then you detour it with truth. It is hard, the timing has to be God's, you have to be listening to the Holy Spirit with one ear as you listen to them with the other.

Online chat is not always teaching-discipling something tangible, as much as it is making a divine appointment and following God and leading by the Holy Spirit's thoughts.  Going from face to face ministry where everything is tangible and you have a beginning point of surface relationship, can read body language to computer online ministry, where you have no relational focal point, can't always know or see everything visually, is such a tough transition, one I am still struggling with and growing by. Honestly if it was my choice, I would rather be in face to face ministry and not online ministry, but this is God's choice for me and He has given me a passion for it and for that I am thankful.  I want to do what He has called me to do, and I do it with joy. Jesus, Others, You! I also realize that online ministry is a huge open door right now for the gospel and as long as it remains wide open we have to follow God into it with His excellence.

So just as Oscar was encouraging us Tuesday, I too encourage you all to take up this challenge of online ministry, be more active in your chats by following the lead of the Holy Spirit, we may feel blind by not having all the tangible props of usual ministry where you can somewhat see and know the person you are ministering too, but we do have with us our Way-Maker AWE-God, who has never been blinded by any human condition and can always see clearly ahead with sight we could only hope for or imagine. So Who Needs Sight Props When We Have God! Trust God, follow Him and the heavenly hindsight of online ministry will be so very sweet!

Notes From: Battlefield Of The Mind By Joyce Meyer

Evil Forbodings

Proverbs 15:15

All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances].

Amplified Bible

My anxieties are not real, they are not based on TRUE circumstances or situations. Joyce Meyer

*My THOUGHTS: GODS THOUGHTS = My Learning=Heart Change*

Wow, I can see that. I can truly see it from God's point of view. Everything we stress over, is not a finished situation, it is not truly done. We stress over things that are in part by what we see not the true God purpose, the truth that is being worked out in the unseen. Foreboding that is even more so not truth. That is supposition and worrying our way ahead of the day we are in, so there is no truth in that. The truth is God is here, right now with us and the part of our today that we see is not the finished picture, so therefore worry and anxiety is just a wasted energy. We may be anxious or worrying over what we see, yet at the very moment, God's purposes are in play all around us, working towards Kingdom good, which is always the best and only kind of good we should hope for. AWE-GOD!

My accepting of satan's lies, even though they were vague, was opening the door for evil foreboding. I was expecting something bad to happen instead of aggressively expecting something good.

Joyce Meyer

*My THOUGHTS: GODS THOUGHTS = My Learning=Heart Change*

The way I love to deal with anxious thoughts, worrying forethoughts is by prayer. I like to flip them to prayer. In doing this, I begin hoping huge in God, taking the pressure and stress off of me. Worrying puts dependence on me, prayer puts dependence on God! I would rather depend on God then depend on me. I can only make a temporal difference, where God is working for eternal change.

When our thoughts are miserable, we are miserable because they poison our outlook. Joyce Meyer

*My THOUGHTS: GODS THOUGHTS = My Learning=Heart Change*

I think we have got to say no to the thoughts that are full of evil foreboding. We need to flip them to huge hope in our #AWE-GOD! I think the root of these thoughts begins with us not believing that God's purposes are in play all around us, always and forever He is working out His Kingdom purposes for the best of His glory to be revealed in us and through us! AWE-GOD! Lord may we think your truth, act your truth and be your truth, so help us God! AMEN! 100% Kingdom Truth Proof!

Isaiah 40:31 "but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

NIV

2 Kings 20:5 Thus Says The Lord, The God Of David Your [Forefather]:

I Have Heard Your Prayer. I Have Seen Your Tears; Behold, I Will Heal You!

God Will Heal You!

Jesus be with my husband today, give him Your strength. Jesus heal his headache, touch his body and renew it with Your healing touch.

Jesus be with Pastor David today, renew his strength and his health, heal his body by Your healing touch.

Jesus be with Rebecca today, give her a great breathing day by Your healing breathe upon her. Jesus.

Jesus I pray for a complete healing for Tonya, strengthen her today by Your healing touch, be with her family, encourage them by strength that they know does not come naturally, peace that surpasses this diagnosement. Help them to know You have the final word. I pray for it to be healing Jesus.

Father touch Igor, a precious little 4yr old warrior fighting for his life. Jesus hold him in Your healing hands, restore his life Jesus

Holy Spirit Inspired…. He speaks, I listen and obey… Thank you for teaching Me!

Galatians 1:12 (NLT) I received my message from no human source, and no

one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.

Come Away My Beloved By Frances J Roberts Page 89

For My people, saith the Lord, see the watch in the night time; yea rise and pray, and let not that hour come upon thee unaware. For the time is short, yea, the storm is gathering fast. Ye see clouds in the sky, and ye say rain is approaching. Can ye not discern the events that are currently shaping up the affairs of men, and be as keen to observe their import and know the disaster and holocaust are in the making?

But thou art prone to fall into the same snare as others – to presume that prosperity and peace will continue, simply because ye wish so strongly that it might be so. Ye are not ignorant concerning the prophecies of My Word as some are, and yet ye allow the feelings and attitudes that are abroad in the land to invade your own personal life.

Be more with Me, and let My Spirit pervade thy spirit, and then thou shalt be more influenced by Me than by the world around you. But be prepared for the fact that ye will then be of a different mind and attitude than those around you, and be willing to accept the difference and be able to ignore misunderstanding.

For any will not accept a message of warning, because they have set their own personal ambitions against the will of God, and they are so intent upon their own pursuits that they refuse to tolerate the thought of possible interference of any kind.

But you, beloved, be much with Me, for there is a great and heavy burden on my heart. For God taketh no pleaser in the death of the wicked. My long-suffering and grace have continued because I deeply desire that all men should come to repentance. But the grapes of wickedness are full, and the vat of the wine-presses are already beginning to receive the juice, and ere long they shall be running full. For the times of the Gentiles are drawing to a close, and I come. Yea, be thou ready, for I come quickly.

My Thoughts About This:

God led me to this by His Holy Spirit and I feel so…. Like you don't want it all to end, like you want to have more time to save the lost, you can almost feel God's heart pounding in your chest for the lost, how much He loves them, how much He wants them to be His… Simply-Significantly our time here on this earth is seriously short and we have got to be busy in Kingdom Work, making every moment count, being eternally valuable for the Kingdom of God is at hand. Jesus. Things are not going to get better, I do sense that. We need to make preparations to be able to care for one another, but most of all we need more than anything to get our lives in holy alignment with God, be in a Holy alliance with Him constantly-consistently and in complete followship of Him from moment to moment.

Simply-Significantly time on earth is seriously short- be found in Kingdom Work, every moment invested W/an eternal edge http://ow.ly/5pBAg
