A Minute With Maxwell

Followup!

Two bookends to success. The front end the ability to initiate and the back end the ability to close or followup. We are naturally either initiators or closers. You need to have people around you that are good with follow-up with details and that is how you have great success.

Encouragement!

People love to be encouraged, no one is anti-encouragement. A lot of people want to be encouraged but never realize in maturity to give encouragement. If you want to be encouraged, encourage someone else, what goes around comes around. When you encourage someone else it encourages you to see the change in them. Encouragement is oxygen to the soul.

My Thoughts About This:

Agreed! I love to see the glory glow of God ignite in a person's eyes after God encourages them, there is no better joy!

Expected!

Expectation has diminished. Their expector has expired. Been there and done that, nothing to learn anymore. But then there are the people who never loses the wonder, the curiosity, the hope and they live in an expected state of life.

Submission!

Two kinds of submission. Helpful and positive or defeating. Submission from a crushed spirit is someone who has powered up against someone and broken their spirit. Also a voluntary submission, to be a learner or grower I must have a humility and a submissive spirit that allows me to come under and appreciate all situations and all people. The right kind of submission is being broken in the right places and the wrong kind is being broken in the wrong places.

Urgency!

Some of the most important things in life are only accomplished if we have a sense of urgency. Some people don't create a sense of urgency, they wait for life to become urgent and then they rush to make up for lost time and in a panic often fall short of their achieved goal. I must create a sense of urgency within myself, I must be the person that motivates myself making sure I accomplish, today because it is the only time I have. These people never have outward circumstance of urgency so compelling that it defeats them. Why because they understand either Urgency comes from the outside and makes you a victim or it starts within you and goes to the outside which usually makes you a victor.

Gleaming From Daniel- Learning:Growing! Chapter four!

Beth Moore Workbook Week Four Of Daniel

God knows the human mind He created learns best through examples of human lives that hold mirrors to our own. Beth Moore

An adult seasoned in the Word realize that Scripture is full of pictures: masterpiece portraits, as a matter of fact, of real, live flesh and blood people who encountered the Living God, whether they meant to or not.

Daniel 4 shows what can happen to a human- no matter how powerful, no matter the state of his relationship with God when he allows his heart to swell with pride.

Daniel 4:1-3  NEBUCHADNEZZAR THE king, to all people, nations, and languages that dwell on all the earth: May peace be multiplied to you!2  It seemed good to me to show the signs and wonders that the Most High God has performed toward me.3  How great are His signs! And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.

Amplified Bible

Pride is not a circumstance. It's a state of mind. It's an equal opportunity agent of Satan- his absolute specialty. Beth Moore

Isn't the enemy sly? He will try to tke the very thing meant to instill humility and twit it into pride. Ouch!

My Thoughts About This:

I think pride can also be those of us who have a lot of experience in "kingdom things", those of us who are "seasoned servant" we can lean on our experiences instead of God and that to me is a form of pride, because we think we know it all and we don't because God is constantly changing things up in His creative way, He is always making things new. I fall into this some times and I can tell that I am by the way I interrupt people, trying to make my point about what I know.

Psalms 73:21-22

21 Yes, my spirit was bitter, and my insides felt sharp pain. 22 I was ignorant and lacked insight;

I was as senseless as an animal before you.

New English Translation Copyright © 1996 - 2007 by Biblical Studies Press, LLC

I may not have looked as animal-like as Nebuchadnezzar, but I have acted as stupid as an animal over my bitterness and hurt. Beth Moore

Have we not seen God "high and lifted up" most often when our self-exaltation tumbled down? Beth Moore

Our greatest purpose In life is to glorify God; to make Him famous in our lands. Isaiah 26:8 says it perfectly: "your name and renown are the desire of our hearts

Isaiah 26:8  Yes, in the path of Your judgments, O Lord, we wait [expectantly] for You; our heartfelt desire is for Your name and for the remembrance of You

Amplified Bible

From heavens perspective, we never stand taller than when we bow down to lift God up. Beth Moore

Oversharing can also have a strong tendency to glorify man rather than God. T.M.I. – Some testimonies simply contain too much information. If a detail will paint a graphic picture in permanent ink in the listener's head, we might need to leave it out. We want one thing permanently painted on the mind of our listener, the greatness of God.

Daniel 4:4  I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at rest in my house and prospering in my palace

My Thoughts About This:

The goals I had for life before I found the Lord were all self-centered. I wanted to succeed and I wanted to rise up the ladder of success, striving for titles, responsibilities in my work in banking. I worked harder than anyone, longer than anyone and tried to work smarter than anyone, learning as much as I could. After I found the Lord, everything changed, all my priorities began to be focused in the direction of God, I no longer was striving for personal success but for God's Kingdom.

Contented and Prosperous: The new American Commentary adds further insight: Contented is a translation of the Aramaic word seleh, which means properly at ease or at rest, conveying both contentment and security. I am not sure we yearn for anything more consistently than security. Many of us would choose security over contentment.

My Thoughts About This:

I have made decisions chasing security that even today we pay for and are in debt for.

All this world and its inhabitants can offer us is a false and fleeting sense of security. Beth Moore

Psalm 30:6

As for me, in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.7  By Your favor, O Lord, You have established me as a strong mountain; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.8  I cried to You, O Lord, and to the Lord I made supplication.9  What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit (the grave)? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth and faithfulness to men?10  Hear, O Lord, have mercy and be gracious to me! O Lord, be my helper!11  You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,12  To the end that my tongue and my heart and everything glorious within me may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Amplified Bible

My Thoughts About This:

We can have a state of mind that thinks we are secure in the things of this world, but we truly end up being only secure in Christ. Just like David above showed and Nebucadnezzer's life showed. When you think you are at your securest, God comes along and shakes things us to show us that He is our only security

Hebrews 12:26-29 Then [at Mount Sinai] His voice shook the earth, but now He has given a promise: Yet once more I will shake and make tremble not only the earth but also the [starry] heavens. 27 Now this expression, Yet once more, indicates the final removal and transformation of all [that can be] shaken--that is, of that which has been created--in order that what cannot be shaken may remain and continue. 28 Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe;29 For our God [is indeed] a consuming fire.

The human need for security is deeper and wider than anything the oceans of this earth can fill. Until our worlds quake and things start to shatter, we have no idea what lasts. Beth Moore

Psalm 61:1-2

HEAR MY cry, O God; listen to my prayer.2 From the end of the earth will I cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed and fainting; lead me to the rock that is higher than I [yes, a rock that is too high for me].3 For You have been a shelter and a refuge for me, a strong tower against the adversary.4 I will dwell in Your tabernacle forever; let me find refuge and trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

Psalm 62: 1-2  FOR GOD alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation.2  He only is my Rock and my Salvation, my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be greatly moved.

Notes From Joyce Meyer TV program

Joyce Meyer TV Ministry Aired Today, June 15th

Satan attacks your mind and he is after your will… Your mind is the battle field, satan will lie to you and your only protection is in the Word of God if you do not know the truth, Your only protection against lies, you will believe lies… there is something we believe that is not really true, because we have been influenced to think that and it rules and controls us in certain ways. Satan is a liar, controller, manipulator, accuser and destroyer. Every time you feel condemned it is the devil, conviction is the Holy Spirit, condemnation is the devil. We let what the Holy Spirit is convicting us about turn to condemnation. Satan wants to destroy us, the main thing he wants to destroy is your faith. We can do great things if we believe God, He does use ordinary people. God doesn't look for ability, He looks for availability , someone who is available and say Yes and take steps of faith. 1 Cor says He uses the weak and foolish things of the world to confound the wise. God's got a greater plan for us than what we know and if we are going to do anything for God, you have to have faith. God calls us, we don't know what to do and God empowers us to do what He has called us to. Step out in faith, maintain your faith and don't let the devil steal it. Whatever you are growing through, waiting on the thing he is after is your faith, because without it, it is impossible to please God. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Those Who diligently seek Him, He is their rewarder. WE have to press through what it seems like and say God is faithful, I have prayed, He heard me, He is working. Suddenly He will breakthrough. All of a sudden! Suddenly! Suddenly everything changes. Satan wants to destroy your faith, he attacks your mind, body and possessions.

Physical Body… health are very important to God because God works through you. He preaches through the voices of men and women. He goes, sending His gospel out through people, everyday-everywhere-everyone. Without your health, satan may rob the world of the gift God has placed in You. Your spiritual gifts are delivered through your spiritual body. Satan wants to rob the Body of Christ of the gifts God has given us. When satan comes against your body, he is attacking the temple of God.

1 Cor 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,20  You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.

Amplified Bible

Honor God and bring glory to Him in your body. God deals with anyone who does hurt to the temple of God. We need to respect and take care of the house of God. Your body, your health is very important, many people abuse their bodies by not getting enough sleep, not drinking enough water, living under stress because they think they are superman, pushing yourself too heard, eating junk food and thinking you can get by with it. The bottom line is stress. False sense of responsibility causes you to take on too much. Delegate! Too much stress is not good for your body. Workaholic do not do anything fun to alleviate stress. This whole system of thinking is warped and weird and is satan's tool to kill our health. You have to rest, sleep, eat right, drink plenty of water. You need rest, relax your soul and body. Do something you enjoy. Take the rest times, or you end up bitter and resenting all the people who enjoy their lives. Say no to other things, to things you want to be involved in , wisdom says you can't be involved in everything. Make a decision now how you will feel later. You are bought with a price, you are not your own and you have a spiritual obligation to take care of your body so God can use you! Joyce Meyer

You can't live on fast food and sweets, no water… read educate yourself and stop letting your taste buds rule your life and your future! The Word of God will change Your life, it is Your Spiritual food. To keep your spirit healthy you need the Word of God!

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Pastor Elliott Osowit

Luke 9:23 Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves "Give Up All Rights To Himself" and take up their cross daily and follow me."

This is one of those scriptures I wish I didn't have to read. I don't know about you, but below are some of the aspects of this command from our Lord with which I struggle .

The right to revenge: "You have heard that it was said, ''Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth,'' But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."(Matthew 5:38, 39)

The right to dignity: "Do not resist an evil person, If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."(Matthew 5:39b)

The right to justice: "If someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well."(Matthew 5:40b)

The right to freedom: "If someone forces you to go a mile, go with him two miles."(Matthew 5:41)

The right to control my resources: "Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you… Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… For where your treasure is there your heart will be also."(Matthew 5:42; 6:19a, 20a, 21)

The right to hate my enemies: "You have heard that it was said, ''Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you… "(Matthew 5:43-44a)

The right to recognition: "Be careful not to do your ''acts of righteousness'' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven."(Matthew 6:1)

The right to bear a grudge: "If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."(Matthew 6:14b, 15)

The right to judge others: "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."(Matthew 7:1, 2)

The right to anything: "Any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple."(Luke 14:33b)

Because, "The man who wants to save his life will lose it, but the man who loses it for my sake will save it."(Luke 9:24)

Now go and have fun, Christian. Pastor Elliott

My Thoughts About This:

Thanks! Fun is not a commodity that is sparse when you have two grand-girls for the Summer!  LOL! But yes I totally get what you said this morning... rights are a huge issue we need to settle of we want to grow into God's Seasoned Servants!

Holding on to our rights is a huge block to willessness. When we are called to God 1st, willessness is in every step. I like the scripture that says, Jesus laid down His rights, and I can't even begin to imagine the extent of what He laid down. Have a great day and here is one of my favorite scriptures that shows that Jesus had settled the issue of rights long before He came to earth!

Philippians 2: 5-8

Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.

The Message (MSG) Copyright © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene H. Peterson

1 Corinthians 8:8-10

But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.

9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your rights does not become a stumbling block to the weak. 10 For if someone with a weak conscience sees you, with all your knowledge, eating in an idol's temple, won't that person be emboldened to eat what is sacrificed to idols?
