It seems like Habakkuk is in a very lawless, uncivil time. A time of fighting and violence so bad that there is destruction in the land. Habakkuk's burden is truly seen in his prayer to God for the people. I see a lot of resemblance in the lawlessness, the incivility, the unrest that is in this country, the violence that has escalated, the strife between political parties and the disunity of our country and lawlessness. The way we are pushing God out of our country, disrespecting His Ways and thinking we can kindle our own fire and walk by the light of a man-made fire is truly disheartening. Lord, draw our country back to You, back to You as our 1st Love! Jesus!

Mentally Engaged

2 Corinthians 10:5 "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

Are you mentally engaged with eternal thinking? The world's cares can be so demanding that they can cause us to disengage from capturing our thoughts for Christ. Like an AWOL soldier, our thinking can wander into enemy territory and fall into false reasoning. Instead, the Lord desires that His children proactively capture every thought and make it obedient to Christ. Mentally engaged Christians are conscious to actively think like Jesus. Thoughts can be fleeting and flirt with sin, or they can be disciplined as a disciple of Jesus Christ. Indeed, intentional intellectual engagement with God's word instructs us in integrity. It's those who pay the price to not resign their thoughts to the trends of society that grow in their convictions to not compromise their character in Christ.

"Love the Lord your God with. all your mind"(Matthew 22:37b).

Jesus described mental engagement as a love relationship with Him. Does your mind pursue the Lord, as a suitor pursues his sweetheart? Sadly, some experience a joyful marriage of salvation with Jesus, but never grow into a fulfilling relationship that flows from loving Jesus, knowing Jesus and obeying Jesus.

"Finally, brothers whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things" (Philippians 4:8).

Phil 4:8=Your proactive plan to prohibit the devil's half-truths rests in filling your mind with wise thoughts. Like a full cup of coffee that has no room for any additional liquids-so a mind full of Christ's thoughts has no room for knowledge that's against Him. Thus, allow your master Jesus to mold your thinking into His thinking and you will gladly act accordingly.

"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct them? But we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16)?"

*My Prayer-HIS-THOUGHTS:

Make it so in me Holy Spirit! Help me to be mentally engaged in what matters eternally. Help me not to give any time to stupid thinking, but to push it out with the promises and truths of God. I want to have a proactive plan that is back by Your Power to stop the devil's half-truths and what ifs, to stop those thoughts short with a Promise Of God Road Block!! I pray Lord Jesus, that You would be the master of my mind, mold my thinking into Your Thinking! AWE-GOD!

Responsibility

Leadership is all about responsibility. Why do you want to become a leader? Leadership is hard, you have to make difficult decisions, many times you are out on the edge, leading where no one has gone. Leaders stand out and people wait for them to lead, the responsibility on their shoulders. When a person becomes a leader the 1st thing that is put upon them is the mantel of responsibility

Responsibility is huge when you are leading others, but God is great and He will guide us by His Holy Spirit as we stay in a personal relationship with Him. He will be the strength, wisdom, favor and truth I can stand out and stand on!

We must ask God what to do, and then we must not question it when He reveals it to us.

Our 1st mistake is thinking we are smart enough to understand the mind of God

Reasoning can also move us in a particular direction that, although it may seem logical, may not be the will of God.

The human mind likes logic, order and reason. We like to deal with issues we can wrap our mind around and come up with solutions that make sense to us. We think small and we don't have the perspective to understand from God's point of view.

Romans 9:1

I AM speaking the truth in Christ. I am not lying; my conscience [enlightened and prompted] by the Holy Spirit bearing witness with me

He was making the point that he was doing the right thing not because he had figured it out or analyzed the situation, but because his actions bore witness in his spirit.

You must n ot allow yourself to reason with your mind, searching for logical solutions. Instead you must say: "My trust is in the Lord, and whatever He tells me to do, I will obey"

My Thoughts About This:

I know I fall so much in this area! I try to reason things out by my own limited understanding and I don't wait on God's wisdom. By wait I mean, my will is very bucked up and at times I am not open to hear or do what God wants because it feels very uncomfortable, it is not what I planned. I must learn to Wait on God, even if the waiting room is uncomfortable.

Change Me Lord! My will bucks up when the God Waiting Room is unusual-uncomfortable. Help me to wait-Let God Work!

Kimberly, are you offended?

Psalms 6: 25 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

It never ceases to amaze me, the way the devil uses our offenses and our "offendedness" to divide and conquer marriages, relationships, churches -- even entire nations! Many of us are not careful enough about the things we say and more importantly, we get offended way too easily. As we were discussing this topic recently, a good friend gave this analogy and we loved it: If you are holding a baby and his little arm swats you in the face, would you take offense to that? Of course not! We know the little guy didn't intend to hurt us. We respond with "awwww" or laughter or something to that effect. But if it is a friend, a family member or a brother or sister in the church who offends us with a little swat of his words or actions, we are undone. We expect more from them! What hypocrisy! We become angry and we want to defend ourselves, fight back or leave forever. Yeshua (Jesus) said NO! He said that even if someone despitefully uses us, that means on purpose, that we are to respond in love! We as human beings are troubled and sinful. We are not perfect and we should never expect others to be, no matter what their positions are in the church. God is perfect and He is the one from whom our expectations should come -- no man. Kimberly, am I talking to you today? We are all guilty of this one way or another. Let's give our offenses to the Lord. Allow Him wash over us today. Allow Him Heal us. Get us back to where we need to be. There's so much work to be done.

My Thoughts About This:

I used to be very easily offended, but I am not that way anymore. A few years ago, God worked on this part of my life and it stuck. I learned about not carrying another person's offense, not being easily offended and it all was because I am no longer on the throne of my life. It is easier I think for a self righteous, self centered person to be offended.
