AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

Make My Life Excellent In You-Constant In Your Courage!

I, Kimberly Ann McCarthy, am determined always to abide in Jesus, moment by moment and in Whom I, Kimberly Ann McCarthy, will draw my nourishment and strength for this day. I, Kimberly Ann McCarthy, deliberately intend today to make God's purposes and plan the goal and end of all the thoughts and affections of my soul.

Philippians 4:13

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency.

Excerpts-Thoughts From The Bridegroom's Voice

Excerpts From: Elmer L. Towns "365 Ways To Know God"

Judges 3:1-12

1NOW THESE are the nations which the Lord left to prove Israel by them, that is, all in Israel who had not previously experienced war in Canaan; 2It was only that the generations of the Israelites might know and be taught war, at least those who previously knew nothing of it. 3The remaining nations are: the five lords of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who dwelt on Mount Lebanon from Mount Baal-hermon to the entrance of Hamath. 4They were for the testing and proving of Israel to know whether Israel would listen and obey the commandments of the Lord, which He commanded their fathers by Moses. 5And the Israelites dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites; 6And they married their daughters and gave their own daughters to their sons, and served their gods. 7And the Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord and forgot the Lord their God and served the Baals and the Ashtaroth. 8So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the Israelites served Chushan-rishathaim eight years. 9But when the Israelites cried to the Lord, the Lord raised up a deliverer for the people of Israel to deliver them, Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. 10The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand and his hand prevailed over Chushan-rishathaim. 11And the land had rest forty years. Then Othniel son of Kenaz died. 12And the Israelites again did evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord strengthened Eglon king of Moab against Israel because they had done what was evil in the sight of the Lord.

Excerpts From Book:

When the Spirit of the Lord comes upon you , He will help you live a godly life and serve with power. He can fill every corner of your life with renewed energy. But He can't fill the empty parts of your life if you don't yield the to Him. Right now, stop your self efforts. Cry out for the strength of the Spirit of the Lord to empower you.

The Holy Spirit can fill you with a power that you have never experienced before. But He will not fill a dirty vessel.

Key Thought:

You must prepare for the Holy Spirit before he will flow into your life.

My Thoughts About This:

It is important to keep our lives in Holy Alignment with God. God is holy and He doesn't fellowship with sinful lives. It was very interesting to see in this scripture how the Holy Spirit used war and nations of warlike quality to test the Israelites, to see where their allegiance was. Would times of war cause them to compromise their Holy Alliance with God. They did, they compromised. The test proved the needed growth of this nation. I just wonder how many tests God has sent my way and how many I have not even realized taking! To be a champion for Christ, I must pass every test He sends my way, I must do what it takes to stay in a Holy Alignment with God.

Life Point By Joyce Meyer

Throughout the Old Testament, as in Judges 3:10, we see that the Spirit of the Lord "came upon" people and gave them power, wisdom, or ability beyond what they naturally had.

Outer power comes from inner purity, and that inner purification (or sanctification) is a work of the Holy Spirit living within us. He wants to fill us with His Spirit and give us the power to live the abundant life that is available through believing in Jesus Christ.

Verse Of The Day@biblegateway.com

Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in trouble.

My Thoughts From Listening To Psalm 46:

God is our refuge and strength, ever present help… So don't fear though the earth give way… there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God… God is within us, we will not fall. God will help us at break of day. Nations are in an uproar… yet God is with us, He is our fortress. God makes wars cease… burns the shields with fire. Be still and know He is God, He will be exalted amount the nations, among the earth. The Lord almighty is with us, He is our fortress.

The prerequisite of becoming a leader is to 1st be a good follower. All leaders follow someone. Everyone has to follow someone. Do you follow them well? The attributes of a good follower are the same attributes you need as a good leader. To follow people you must trust, be obedient, have a desire to be a part of the team, all these attributes flow into being a leader. If you follow well, you have the potential to be a good leader. When you lead because you follow well, you connect well with the followers because you have been where they are and you know exactly what they need.

"Oh that I were as in months past."

Job 29:2

Numbers of Christians can view the past with pleasure, but regard the present with dissatisfaction; they look back upon the days which they have passed in communing with the Lord as being the sweetest and the best they have ever known, but as to the present, it is clad in a sable garb of gloom and dreariness. Once they lived near to Jesus, but now they feel that they have wandered from him, and they say, "O that I were as in months past!" They complain that they have lost their evidences, or that they have not present peace of mind, or that they have no enjoyment in the means of grace, or that conscience is not so tender, or that they have not so much zeal for God's glory. The causes of this mournful state of things are manifold. It may arise through a comparative neglect of prayer, for a neglected closet is the beginning of all spiritual decline. Or it may be the result of idolatry. The heart has been occupied with something else, more than with God; the affections have been set on the things of earth, instead of the things of heaven. A jealous God will not be content with a divided heart; he must be loved first and best. He will withdraw the sunshine of his presence from a cold, wandering heart. Or the cause may be found in self-confidence and self-righteousness. Pride is busy in the heart, and self is exalted instead of lying low at the foot of the cross. Christian, if you are not now as you "were in months past," do not rest satisfied with wishing for a return of former happiness, but go at once to seek your Master, and tell him your sad state. Ask his grace and strength to help you to walk more closely with him; humble yourself before him, and he will lift you up, and give you yet again to enjoy the light of his countenance. Do not sit down to sigh and lament; while the beloved Physician lives there is hope, nay there is a certainty of recovery for the worst cases. Charles Spurgeon

My Thoughts About This:

There are so many things that speak to my heart from this devotional. My prayer time, being with Jesus, soaking in His life, becoming more closely related to Him is so important. I like his reference to the prayer closet that is neglected is the beginning of spiritual decline. This is soooooooooooo true.

Idolatry, you know we think this is a BIG word, but truly it starts small with pride, self absorption, self-righteousness, excess… Father forgive us!

Worthy News Brief @worthyemail.com

Kimberly, your mourning will be turned into dancing!

Psalms 30:11-12 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

This is one of my favorite promises in the Bible – that God turns mourning into dancing! He takes away the anguish of being clothed in sadness and replaces it with gladness. However, notice what God doesn't do – simply stop your mourning and make it disappear. No, He transforms it...into joy! He turns your sorrow into gladness. He takes your failure and creates success! We serve an awesome and mighty God, who says, "all things work together for good to them that love Him, and to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Kimberly, let's take time to dwell on this promise. Our sorrows, disappointments, tragedies and failures are very real -- but they are also "raw material" for a divine transformation that our Lord will accomplish in His time for His glory. And we WILL dance! God will do it. Our part is simply to wait...believe...and cling tightly to this wonderful promise!Your family in the Lord with much agape love,

My Thoughts About This:

Foreboding! What a trap it is. It will suck the life out of you! Before I left NC to come here to Georgia for my new God Adventure, I had a foreboding spirit that seeded in my heart a dread that was seethed in fear of not being able to handle what was ahead. I got myself into a depressed funk! I was so anxious about coming here, yet God has prevailed, just like He always does. This situation is far worse than I could have imagined, yet God is far more in strength, ability and wisdom than I could have ever imagined. His peace rules and my spirit is dancing in the JOY He has given me in the midst of times I could not imagine myself being in. God is always here for me. AWE-GOD! Thank You Jesus! Thank you for transforming my depression into JOY, my failure into success.

http://wisdomhunters.com/ Boyd Bailey

I will listen to what the Lord will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints—but let them not return to folly. Psalm 85:8

God promises peace to his people. It is a peace produced in heaven and delivered on earth. God's peace provides us just what we need, not just enough to get us through life, but enough to excel in life. The peace of God propels us to go places we would have otherwise avoided, if we didn't have the assurance of His peace. God's peace plan for His people is accessible at all times. When we fail to forge our faith around His plan we forfeit peace.
God's process is to listen first, then act. Because God hears us, we are eager to hear Him. Hearing the voice of God vanquishes our fears and validates our peace. Grace waits to hear God, and then proceeds in peace. The disciples waited on the peace of Jesus. The Spirit engulfed them, then they preached, performed miracles, and ministered to the people (John 20:21-23).
John 20:21-23 Amplified Bible (AMP)

21Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you! [Just] as the Father has sent Me forth, so I am sending you. 22And having said this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit! 23[Now having received the Holy Spirit, and being [a]led and directed by Him] if you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained.

God's peace proceeds from a heart of obedience. It is inaccessible to the disobedient. Obstinacy to the ways of God does not gain the peace of God. It is when you make peace with God that you garner the grace and peace of God. Paul said it well: "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand (Romans 5:1-2a)."
Peace is for the purposes of faith, not folly. Peace cannot be prostituted for personal gain. It is all about God and His game plan. We forgo peace when we go astray. We give up peace when we go our own way. However, if you find yourself in trouble, trust Him. His peace accompanies a humble and trusting heart. In the middle of your storm, listen to His voice say, "Peace, be still" (Mark 4:39 KJV). Calm comes with Christ. Joy comes from Jesus. The Lord gives lasting peace.
Let the Lord in on your peculiar predicament. He already knows and cares. Confusion only continues when you try to work it out without Him. However, the peace of God does not require your total understanding. It transcends your troubled heart. It will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Man's peace depends on treaties that can be broken. God's peace depends on your relationship with Jesus that cannot be broken. Man's peace is momentary. God's peace is enduring.
Listen to the voice of man, and you may delay the peace process. Listen to the voice of God, and you will accelerate the peace process. God provides peace to His children. His provision of His peace awaits your access. Therefore, pray and wait on His peace. His peace precludes fear. Listen intently to the Lord. His voice can be trusted. Appropriate His peace promise.
My Thoughts About This:

God's peace is completely accessible to me if I go His way. I can't go my way and expect to have peace. I can't get go past this day with What If questions running around in my mind and expect to have peace. God is in today and where God is, His peace is. The purposes of God are in play and as I step into them, I step into an atmosphere of His Peace and increase confidence.

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Matthew 12:33 "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.

Dear Bob and Kim,

When I was reading this passage, I couldn't take my eyes off the last phrase of this scripture: "A tree is known by its fruit". I thought about Who judges whether the fruit is good or bad?

I had to take down a peach tree in my front yard a while back just as its fruit was maturing. One of my grandsons came over to help me get rid of it. Just as I approached the tree the wind blew and one of the fruit fell to the ground. I reached down and picked it up and began to enjoy the sweetness of the ripe fruit. My grandson picked one from the tree and popped it in his mouth. Very shortly I heard coughing and spitting and various other sounds of disgust. My grandson said, "Papa, how can you eat this stuff?" I told him that the fruit that did not fall was not fully ripe and peaches can taste terrible before they fully ripen.

All fruit is not good. Some can even be poisonous. It is the nature of most fruit to be bitter until fully ripe. That peach tree had endured drought, ice storms, summer heat, and pollution from the environment. Yet, the peach tree gave up its sweet fruit when the fruit was mature.

Christians have a difficult time producing the kind of sweet fruit that is acceptable to all people. Some folks just don't like a good apple, grape or a peach, but God is the final judge. He knows how and what each tree has endured to bring forth sweet fruit.

That little peach tree was deformed. It only had limbs and leaves on one side because it had been robbed of sunlight, yet it produced a bounty of sweet fruit.

Bob and Kim, God knows your situation. He knows what you have endured. He also knows what you have neglected in your spiritual life and relationship with HIM that has stunted your growth. He knows the lack of prayer and commitment to His kingdom that brought bitter fruit because it never matured. Maybe it is time for some pruning and clearing away all the obstructions in your life that have kept the LIGHT OF THE SON from feeding your soul.

Think about it, won't you? Pastor Elliott

My Thoughts About This:

Awesome! I will think about it. Today I had the thought of how we think Idolatry is associated with BIG things, but truly it is the small obstructions to our soul that keep out the most SON Light! Idolatry is a shady thing as it manifests itself in obscure ways and we don't notice it until we end up with bitter fruit. Holding on to our everyday cultural excesses, that keep us occupied and distracted from God and cause us to be more and more self indulgent, self righteous and self focused. I read this today and it thoroughly convicted me:

A jealous God will not be content with a divided heart; he must be loved first and best. He will withdraw the sunshine of his presence from a cold, wandering heart. Quote By Boyd Baily

I think God needs to become our : "Always Enough" It is hard to get our lives back to this perspective when we walk into a grocery store and we have 100 choices for cereal… cultural excess can't replace our "Always Enough" Jesus! How do we balance our lives so we are positioned in the Full SON-Shine? I think for me, I have to FULLY FACE my God every morning. My 1st step out every day is down, I bow down before my God in reverent-awe with submissive-respectful surrender. Then I can walk out into a day filled with the suggestions of excess and from moment to choice, I remember that time on my knees and I know God is my ALWAYS ENOUGH! Jesus!

AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

Make My Life Excellent In You-Constant In Your Courage!

Psalm 42:7-8

"Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me. By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life."

It seems a lot of Christians are quick to condemn the world and write its inhabitants off as lost causes. Its odd, though, Jesus never did. He healed and lovingly confronted. Jesus engaged and walked among his enemies, not to breath fire upon them but to breathe life into them. He could only do so by being part of their lives. He didn't write books, he didn't constrain his preaching to only the synagogues, He didn't stand aloof bad mouthing the world and his enemies to his disciples, no, Jesus deliberately walked and lived amongst those he came to serve.

Quote By: Katherine Walden

My Thoughts About This:

Lord Forgive Us! In our desire to make ourselves so comfortable in this world, we forget that You came to seek and save the lost, not to make us at ease with this season of our lives. We are The Bride of Christ, I pray that You, Holy Spirit would convict us to act like it. We are so rooted to this world, tear up the roots Jesus, and transplant them in our real home, The Kingdom of God and help us to act like this is a temporary assignment! Help us to Jesus to know Your heart for the lost and to act out of this passion You have for them. Jesus!

A Savior To the World! With Love He Gave His Life So We Could Be Free- The Savior Of The World- A Hero! Jesus!

He spoke with clarity and walked across the sea. A Single word calmed the storm. A Hero a Savior to the world, He stands with scars in His Hands, He gave His life so we could be free, the Savior of the world. He forgave those who were and would be.

My Thoughts About This:

Help me Jesus to be like You, to be a Kingdom Hero, glowing Your Glory in this world. You gave us so much, we could never repay You, but I do worship You, Jesus, You are my hero. Thank you for my freedom, for eternity. Thank you that Your sacrifice for me was simply-significantly enough! Jesus!

Excerpts-Thoughts From The Bridegroom's Voice

******Day TWO… #2 Of Week Two…. Day Two……#2 Week******

Wed. Aug. 10th 2011 My Thoughts: From The Bridegroom's Voice Week 2

  • Questions! The Bridegroom Speaks About Questions!
  • My attitude is really influenced by unbelief. I realize when unbelief is the compelling motive behind my questions, that my attitude is muddied with pride!
  • Do you think you have sufficient wisdom from your life-experiences to create the all-inclusive perfect plan for your life?! No I don't! But when my attitude gets stirred up by the doubts I entertain in my mind, I can step out on a false front of pride with my own concocted wisdom and quickly do I fall!

James 1:1-8

1  JAMES, A servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes scattered abroad [among the Gentiles in the dispersion]: Greetings (rejoice)!2  Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations.3  Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.4  But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.5  If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.6  Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.7  For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord,8  [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].

My Thoughts About This Verse:

  • Joyful is the last thing I would think of if I was enveloped in trial. The Lord is speaking to me about questions so here is one for me to ponder. Why is that so? I know God, I know He is working in the unseen for my good. So why don't I approach trials with an attitude of joy? How do I change this in me Holy Spirit?
  • I think I need to flip-flop my thinking from being centered on this world to being a part of the Kingdom. The Kingdom is my home. What do trials do to help me in my home town?
  • When God tests me, it is to prove my faith, to develop in me Kingdom Characteristics. Do I endure? Do I have steadfastness? Do I have patience? Thus the test!
  • It is really a joyful thing when someone cares about you as much as God does about us, seeing that we lack in nothing. This is the Why of our trials and this should make us feel secure and joyful. God Cares!
  • God does a thorough work in us and He uses tests and trials to help us to grow up, mature into Kingdom readiness.
  • God's Joy cannot co-exist with doubt and does not activate in a dubious soul, divided in non pleasant ways by truth and lies.
  • If I want God's joy during a trial, I must keep a mind stable in truth-reliable in faith-certain in trust–active in hope!
