I Kimberly Ann McCarthy am determined to be found in the Love of Christ that has been lavished upon me with such abundance. Infinitely So! I will gratefully and with thanksgiving receive this great love of my AWE-GOD and love everyone, everyday, everywhere!
Isaiah 2:11
"The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled and the pride of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day"
Humility means you fight fair together. You truly listen to the perspective of your spouse or coworker, without reacting defensively or judging too quickly. You are willing to change for the greater good and for the sake of pleasing your Savior. Boyd Bailey
Verse Of The Day@biblegateway.com
Psalm 116: 1 I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. 2 Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

Thoughts As I Listened To Psalm 116:
God turns His ear to me. Death entangles me and trouble overcomes me, but I call on God and He is gracious and righteous, full of compassion. He protects the simple hearted. He saves me when I am in need. My soul is at rest, because God is good. He keeps me feet from stumbling… I believe and I speak it. I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. I will fulfill my commitments to God. I am your servant Lord. You have freed me from my yokes and chains. I will be thankful and call upon You. I will be a testimony in the presence of everyone of Your Glory. Praise God!
Do more. SHOW the Love of Jesus, tell people about it as often as possible. Then let the Holy Spirit do the work. All we do is fish, the Spirit of God does the cleaning. Pastor Elliott
Devotional From Shepherd Wimbish!
Marketers are some of the best phsycologists because they know the human heart and human struggle. The best market stragedy has the letter I in front of it because it digs into the human need for "I". I and we can get so self focused so comfort focused that we don't reach others and help others and pour ourselves out to others. When we are full and content we are focused on I while others are starving. We are created to invest in the lives of others. Psalm 67: Let the peoples praise you, God blesses us that all the ends of the earth may fear Him. God blesses me that I might feed others who are spiritually hungray. Jesus said: Go make disciples… teaching them…. Ask God to open your eyes to who He wants me to feed, influence, poor your life into that they might reach the world as well… give them the food of life that He so graciously gives us…
Thank You! I need the constant reminder of: Poured IN- Poured OUT! God lavishes us with so much, we are rich! We need to take these heart treasures and pour them into others. Jesus said to us: The poor are always with us. I take that sometimes to mean the spiritually poor, those bankrupted by life and desperately needing God. Thank you "Shepherd Wimbish"…. LOL my new knickname for you. You truly are a blessing to us and I am grateful for you.

When the enemy is trying to drag you away to devour you, hit him in the heart with the Sword, The Word of God! Beth Moore
We live in a lion's den and the enemy wants to devour our marriage, children, career, testimony; we want to regularly wound the enemy with The Word Of God.

Isaiah 56:
6 Also the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord to minister to Him and to love the name of the Lord and to be His servants, everyone who keeps the Sabbath so as not to profane it and who holds fast My covenant [by conscientious obedience]--7 All these I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for My house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.
Daniel 6 CD: Session Six In The Lion's Den
Beware Of Excess! Be changed in this area! We are meeting Daniel in the Lion's Den!
Set Up To These Verses:
We are still in Babylon, the Medes and Persians have come in same city different government. New government, the same human nature. Darius the Mead has favor for Daniel. He brings him into a place of trust and immediately there is jealousy and they set out to conspire against him. So they find a way to do that, in order to be devout to Daniel's God, he has to break a law.
Daniel 6:10-16 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house, and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he got down upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously. 11 Then these men came thronging [by agreement] and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.12 Then they came near and said before the king concerning his prohibitory decree, Have you not signed an edict that any man who shall make a petition to any god or man within thirty days, except of you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be changed or repealed.13 Then they said before the king, That Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, does not regard or pay any attention to you, O king, or to the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was much distressed [over what he had done] and set his mind on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored until the sun went down to rescue him.15 Then these same men came thronging [by agreement] to the king and said, Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no decree or statute which the king establishes may be changed or repealed.16 Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, May your God, Whom you are serving continually, deliver you!
Notes From Listening To Beth Moore CD # 6
Imagine being found guilty of prayer! If we were accused of praying, we would want to be found guilty of that crime. This is what we see happen to Daniel. He responds to the edict, down on his knees, nothing disturbed his Holy Habit, that which God had called on him to do. Ours is a different kind of lions den. We know what it is like to get sudden news, for suddenly in just a moment, life just changes and you are in an urgent situation. Sudden, we can be thrown into an emergency. If you are Daniel, you have no one to turn to, you are on! It is about you and about you doing the right thing. When there is no one to run to, grab hands with and get down on your knees with. How will you react in an emergency?
Everyone has sudden news that suddenly moves you into an urgent life-situation. What will you do? Panic! Be Paralyzed! Pray!
Be ready in advance for emergencies. You will not live without emergencies.
1 you can panic 2. You can become paralyzed 3 you can pray
When you panic you do the wrong thing. If you become parlayed you do nothing; if you pray you do the power thing. It is the power thing to pray when you are in an urgent situation. Two of them are the wrong thing. Hit your knees and heaven will move. God is all about relationship and through prayer He forces the issue of relationship.
Daniel had a window open towards Jerusalem this stems from 1 Kings that prayer. Daniel prays towards Jerusalem.
1 Kings 8: 34 When Your people Israel are struck down before the enemy because they have sinned against You, and they turn again to You, confess Your name (Your revelation of Yourself), and pray, beseeching You in this house, 34 Then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your people Israel and return them to the land You gave to their fathers. 35 When heaven is shut up and no rain falls because they have sinned against You, if they pray in [or toward] this place and confess Your name (Your revelation of Yourself) and turn from their sin when You afflict them,
When we lift our faces up towards heaven, we lift our eyes to the God of all and His Kingdom!
We all have an old pattern when Crisis comes? We want to pray every single day so that prayer becomes our old pattern. We walk with God so diligently and so deeply that our old patterns change. God can change our patterns. Wouldn't it be something if we began to react in the spirit. What if we were so ingrained in the word of God and Holy Habits of the spirit that when we reacted it was of the Holy Spirit. Defaulting into the things of God's Spirit.
What if we were so ingrained in the Word of God and His Holy Habits that when a crisis comes we default right into them!
.Phi 4:6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.7 And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus
Don't be anxious about ANYTHING…. With thanksgiving… Daniel did this three times a day, He was thanking and praising God.
In our urgent situations we need guarding for our hearts and mind. In everything… everything… everything… can be affected by prayer. Everything can be affected by prayer. God would not tell us to pray about everything if it could not be affected by prayer… no compartmentalizing…everything is God's turf. Whatever it is pray about it and don't beat around the bush, just say it to God, get it out there on the table.
This is what will guard your heart, pray instead of being anxious. Energy is consumed with anxiety.
Why with Thanksgiving, because it builds up our faith and blessed the heart of God. Ina situation where we will have anxiety, where the smallest thing can become a big crisis, Open your mouth and start thanking God for how He has blessed you. Open your mouth and speak praise because there is power in the spoken world. God can read our minds, but the enemy can't, he has to read it from the outside. When you are speaking thanksgiving, you are doing spiritual warfare. Declare what God has done for you! God knows you, talk to Him.
Open your mouth and declare what God has done for you out loud. There is power in praise! Beth Moore
Daniel 6 17 And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet and with the signet of his lords, that there might be no change of purpose concerning Daniel.18 Then the king went to his palace and passed the night fasting, neither were instruments of music or dancing girls brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.19 Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions.20 And when he came to the den and to Daniel, he cried out in a voice of anguish. The king said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, Whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?21 Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever!22 My God has sent His angel and has shut the lions' mouths so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent and blameless before Him; and also before you, O king, [as you very well know] I have done no harm or wrong. 23 Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that Daniel should be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no hurt of any kind was found on him because he believed in (relied on, adhered to, and trusted in) his God.24 And the king commanded, and those men who had accused Daniel were brought and cast into the den of lions, they, their children, and their wives; and before they ever reached the bottom of the den, the lions had overpowered them and had broken their bones in pieces.25 Then King Darius wrote to all peoples, nations, and languages [in his realm] that dwelt in all the earth: May peace be multiplied to you!26 I make a decree that in all my royal dominion men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for He is the living God, enduring and steadfast forever, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed and His dominion shall be even to the end [of the world].27 He is a Savior and Deliverer, and He works signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth--He Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.28 So this [man] Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
We do not have a situation God cannot change. He is able to change it. Daniel 6
The enemy will roll a stone over it and writes on it, it is finished but God can still change it.
VS 18 The king was so upset he could not eat or sleep. He felt responsible and he loved Daniel
19 The King was anquished…
Continually… A Holy Habit…
VS 22 My God sent His angel…. They have not hurt me because I was found innocent in His sight. I have not wronged you Oh King. Daniels interrity shines out.
VS 23 Now wound was found on him because he had obeyed his God.
VS 24 Along with their wives and children… terribly tragic but it was well known and established in ancient empires, when anyone in an upper level position betrayed the king in any way that when he was put to death so was his family.
We are remind that the Lions were hungry because they ate them before they hit the floor of the den.
VS 27 Then he issues a decree that Daniels God was the living God, Who endures forever, rescues and saves, performs signs and wonders….
Fiery Trial: Delivered from the fire! We can be delivered through the fire! He will take us through it and maybe some the ropes that bind us will be burned off of us! We can be delivered by the fire straight into God's Arms.
God has chosen again to Deliver through the fiery trial, having to grow through it. He delivers Daniel through the lions den not from it.
New Perspective! These were real live hungry lions….
It is not all uncommon for a lion to lick the skin off someone before it eats them. It is a painful death. This is not a cute elementary Sunday school story, it was ugly and was going to get mean, not a pretty death. Daniel was 80 years old. We live in the lion's den!
1 Peter 5:8 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.9 Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.
Sword of the spirit, we must know the word of God when the enemy is trying to drag us away to devour us. Hit him in the heart, you pull out the Word of God and speak it in faith. Stab the enemy in the heart with the Word of God. We don't get ready for it in the moment, we draw back from what we know in an urgent situation, we want to default in the things of the spirit. We want to regularly wound the enemy because he wants to devour your marriage, children, career, ministry, testimony, he is mean…..
WE are in the lions den.
Keep our eyes open to Babylon. Figurative Babylon. Experience the wonderful side of Babylon,
When the enemy is trying to drag you away to devour you, hit him in the heart with the Sword, The Word of God!
We live in a lion's den and the enemy wants to devour our marriage, children, career, testimony; we want to regularly wound the enemy with The Word Of God.
We have the opportunity to experience gloriously intense encounters with God.
1 Timothy 4:16-18
16 At my first trial no one acted in my defense [as my advocate] or took my part or [even] stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them!17 But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the [Gospel] message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was delivered out of the jaws of the lion.18 [And indeed] the Lord will certainly deliver and draw me to Himself from every assault of evil. He will preserve and bring me safe unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
If we are going to be victorious we will experience intense opportunities with GOD. If God did not take Daniel through the Lion's Den, He would not have experienced the glorious encounter with God. He saw, an angel to shut the mouth of the lion.
The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack. To Him be glory… Paul was all by himself. A Daniel type situation that he had to face it alone, but the Lord stood at his side and gave him strength. We have opportune moments to see God reveal Himself on this earth. It is not a God forsaken world because we have encountered Him and we know He is real… this was the last thing Paul wrote… In Paul's thinking He believed so strongly in the Sovereignty of God, He knew God would rescue him and bring him into the Kingdom. Delivered on home because no one can take me until my God says so… to live is Christ and to die is gain.
We have the opportunity to come from a terrible hurtful situation unharmed. Times of betrayal. Things that break our heart! God can bring us forth unharmed from this lions den. God can bring us through unharmed out of this battle.
Psalm 55 He ransomed me unharmed from the battle!
Daniel 6: 22
22 My God has sent His angel and has shut the lions' mouths so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent and blameless before Him; and also before you, O king, [as you very well know] I have done no harm or wrong.
Some battles are the consequence of sin and old sin. Not everything we grow through is a direct consequence of sin. God can bring you through, He can and will heal you.
Psalm 55: 18 He has redeemed my life in peace from the battle that was against me [so that none came near me], for they were many who strove with me.
Jeremiah 30:12
2 For thus says the Lord: Your hurt is incurable and your wound is grievous.13 There is none to plead your cause; for [the pressing together of] your wound you have no healing [device], no binding plaster.14 All your lovers (allies) have forgotten you; they neither seek, inquire of, or require you. For I have hurt you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel and merciless foe, because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable.15 Why do you cry out because of your hurt [the natural result of your sins]? Your pain is deadly (incurable). Because of the greatness of your perversity and guilt, because your sins are glaring and innumerable, I have done these things to you.16 Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity. And they who despoil you will become a spoil, and all who prey upon you will I give for a prey.17 For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says the Lord, because they have called you an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no one seeks after and for whom no one cares!18 Thus says the Lord: Behold, I will release from captivity the tents of Jacob and have mercy on his dwelling places; the city will be rebuilt on its own [old] moundlike site, and the palace will be dwelt in after its former fashion.
The world see's your wound as incurable, but God says I am the one Who heals you.
Daniel 6: 23 Then the king was exceedingly glad and commanded that Daniel should be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no hurt of any kind was found on him because he believed in (relied on, adhered to, and trusted in) his God.
No wound was found on Daniel because he trusted in God. The process of healing takes time and it is not done until that wound starts to heal.
A worldly Darius becomes impressed with God because Daniel went through the "lions den" experience with a trusting faith. Beth Moore
26 I make a decree that in all my royal dominion men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for He is the living God, enduring and steadfast forever, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed and His dominion shall be even to the end [of the world].27 He is a Savior and Deliverer, and He works signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth--He Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
.Whosoever believes in Me will have everlasting life. If we keep our noses clean in this Babylon, not buy it s press and become all self absorbed ambitions successive and seeking every luxury we could find, we have the capacity of huge influence, influence the influential just like Daniel did Darius. We can be used of God to influence the influential.
We are positioned to bear much fruit, keep our nose clean, we are called to influence the influential.
We are not delivered from it or through it but by it. The kingdom of God can not be stopped, it will endure and as long as we are here, we have a job to do right here in Babylon, it is not a forsaken world, it has a redeemer who lives in us.
Lord, Thank You. I want to be different for the rest of my days. I don't want to get over Daniel 1-6. Mark us. Heal us. Help us to be able to be people who bear fruit and bear influence and not be trapped in our incurable wounds, heal us and bring us on through the fire so we can come out on the other side without smelling like smoke. Jesus deliver us from every evil attack and take us safely to Your Heavenly Kingdom. We praise You Jesus. AMEN!
****My Prayer! I Place All My Expectation In You, Almighty God!*****
Psalm 62:5 (amplified) My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.

Stubborn Pride
"'I will break down your stubborn pride and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze.'" Leviticus 26:19
Stubborn pride creates hardened hearts. It is shortsighted and insecure in its aggressive attempts to control. Stubborn pride acts as if it has everything together and doesn't need the help of anyone, even God. Its stiff attitude is frustrating when attempting to work out conflicting issues.
The demands of stubborn pride are unreasonable and its perspective is skewed toward itself. Stubborn pride resists change and misses out on improvement for the sake of the project, the team, or its family. Everyone has to be careful of stubborn pride sneaking into his or her beliefs and behaviors.
Stubborn pride rejects relational engagement that requires confession and forgiveness. There is an aversion to authenticity because this means admission of mistakes and failures. Stubborn pride will dig itself into a deeper hole of distant living before it takes a risk of being found out.
However, in reality, discerning people already understand the charade and the manipulation of a man or a woman who is unable to admit faults. Humility can help someone sucked into the seduction of stubborn pride and it actually melts under the heat of humility. God has a way of wresting control away from stubborn pride.
He will not stand by and allow stubborn pride to suffocate His servants. His passion is to break the spell of stubborn pride and bring it into relational reality. Humility means you fight fair together. You truly listen to the perspective of your spouse or coworker, without reacting defensively or judging too quickly. You are willing to change for the greater good and for the sake of pleasing your Savior.
The Lord loves us too much to stand by while we struggle under the influence of stubborn pride. Like wild stallions with lots of will power and energy, we need brokenness and training. Almighty God is our Master and trainer. He uses whatever means necessary to get our attention. His Holy Spirit is assigned to break our will and align our spirit with His. God is the one trying to get our attention.
We may be mad at others, but our case is against Christ. The Spirit's conviction is what causes us to cringe and shrink back from stubborn pride's relational poison. Christ's brokenness leads us to let go of control and trust Him. He breaks us from the power of ourselves. He breaks us to be bold for Him. He breaks us and molds us into reasonable people who honor the views of others. Quote By Boyd Bailey
Do not negotiate with stubborn pride, but break it under the hammer of humility and replace it with love, respect, and forgiveness. God's brokenness brings down pride. The Bible says, "The eyes of the arrogant man will be humbled and the pride of men brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day" (Isaiah 2:11).

Adversity:
There is never a perfect day in anyone's life. Perfect days they don't come to us. Life is stress. It is not the stress or adversity that causes us the difficulties or sinks our boat, it is how we handle. It is not what happens to me but what happens in me. I can't control what happens to me, but I can control what happens in me. Perfect day? Not! Life is stress. I can't control what happens to me, but I can control what happens in me. Jesus Lives In Me! Jesus Lives In Me! Stress lives to pressure the outside of me. I hope to keep the door of my heart shut to stress and this is what makes my day perfect!
"Lord, I have finished the work which You have given me in this chapter of life. Show me what is next so that I may not be caught unaware. Show me so that I may not keep doing the same things; spinning my wheels for lack of direction. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let it begin anew in me today." Amen Pastor Elliott

Mindset
A person has a pattern of thinking and principles. A mind set on a certain tupe of thinking. Paul tells us to set our minds on things that add value. Have a mind set on the best things. We can set our mind to think on anything. As a person thinks in their heart, so they become. Set your mind on the positive things and it will make a difference in your life.
This season of my life, I am not living out my dream for myself, but God's Sovereign plan for me which is not what I would have chosen. Therefore, I have to guard my mind. I find myself drifting to what about me thoughts, thoughts that see only the now and do not take captive my belief that God has a whole plan and in its entirety it is good and will be seen as so because God always finishes what He starts. The part of my life I see now, I keep out of my mindsets by believing that God is at work in the unseen, His seen purposes and unseen purposes are in play to work out a magnificent plan, the destiny He has for me as I partner with Him for His Kingdom good. So my mind set is constantly being challenged in this season of my life by negative thinking and I fight back with my Omnipresent Reality Check that always comes back with positive truth proof power punch, because I know that God is working in my life for His Kingdom good!
A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today
Rudeness
"Plain speech is to be admired, but a lot that passes for plain is simply rude. The trouble with the man who boasts that he calls a spade a spade is that he often ends by calling everything a spade."
(A.W. Tozer quoted in James L. Snyder. In Pursuit of God: The Life of A. W. Tozer, Camp Hill, PA: Christian Publications, 1991, p. 116)
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things."
Dear Bob and Kim,
One of the first signs of Christian Maturity (or the "meat") is actually showing LOVE; surrendering it to others, giving it away freely. When I confess my shortcomings and sins to God I will not point out others whom I think may have the same shortcomings and sins for that in itself is yet another sin. I will take ownership of my shortcomings and sins that my confession, repentance, and deliverance may be true.
Let's pray that today we will be slow to take offense, quick to forgive and think before we speak. Let's all pray that we will not commit the sin of rudeness and arrogance. Let's all pray that we search own hearts and souls and not talk about the shortcomings and sins of others. Let's pray we will not identify people by their sinful pasts but see them as you see them and love them where they are.
Forgive me Lord. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength".
And LORD I know that includes walking worthy of my calling. I CAN do it through Jesus Christ.
I pray today You will help me be part of the solution and not part of the problem. In and for Jesus, AMEN. Pastor Elliott
My Thoughts About This:
Hey Pastor Elliott! That was perfect for me today. As you know, God likes to send Bob and I out on these crazy God Adventures…. I thought I was pretty much done with all this, but God has sent me to Nineveh! LOL! We still have our home in NC, but we are currently living in Columbus Georgia for the next 8 months in an apartment owned by the company Bob is working for. God has divinely connected us with Campus Military Ministry, so every Sunday we speak to over 300 soldiers on the Ft Campbell base, speaking to them about Jesus. That is the easy part of my Ninevah and my heart humbly bows at the privilege of sharing Jesus with those who may one day give their lives for my freedom. Thanks for this devotional today, once again my course is set by God's Truth and as much as I would like to leave Nineveh (Georgia) and run back home, I will stay here because this is where God asked me to be!
