AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

Make My Life Excellent In You-Constant In Your Courage!

I, Kimberly Ann McCarthy will diligently pursue You, Father God,

this day as my constant connection, conversation and courage.

Colossians 4:2-4

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should"

I Stand In Awe Of You Lord God! If there was ever a time to develop our AWE-GOD it is now! #tworship

Galatians 6 ~ The Message Bible

7-8Don't be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he'll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God's Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. 9-10So let's not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don't give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

My Thoughts About This:

If there was ever a time to develop our AWE-GOD it is now, in this time, a time such as this where our culture is raising up a standard, wanting to be admired and bowed to and excess is at the door of our homes, knocking for recognition and to be bought into. Now is the time for us to develop a strong AWE-GOD and stand ONLY in AWE of our ONE TRUE GOD!

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Matthew 11:28-30

28 "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Dear Bob and Kim,

Let's just stop and take a moment together and give thanks.  Do you realize that not even your father or your mother could have ever given you the peace down deep in your soul like Jesus does?  As Christian parents and grandparents, our calling is to bring our children and grandchildren to the only One who can grant this wonderful peace.  I can attest that the Holy Spirit gives me the words to pray to heal my injured body and troubled soul, just as my mom used to tend to my skinned knees as a child.  Mom put ointments and Band-Aids on my knee; Jesus puts peace in my soul.

Horatio G. Spafford wrote one of favorite hymns as the Holy Spirit was lifting his grief and pain after the loss of his wife and four daughters at sea.  Maybe you can hear this as your read it…

1.     When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Refrain: It is well, with my soul, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

2.     Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

3.     My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

4.     For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live: If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life, Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

5.     But, Lord, 'tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait, The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord! Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!

6.     And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul.

My Thoughts About This:

Thank you! I am so grateful for the peace of God. This week I conquered an old fear that liked to wrap itself anxiously around my heart! The peace of God was my sword and I cut that chain from me and went out with courage, not mine but God's! AWE-GOD!

Kimberly, don't let your circumstances dictate you!

Ephesians 6:19-20 and pray for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

For over 10 years we've been covering Christian Persecution, and whenever I come across an amazing story of how a saint endured such hardships, it encourages me. I remember reading about Watchman Nee and his imprisonment. The Chinese government would change the guards at his cell daily for fear that Nee would lead them to the Lord. Their fears were justified -- many of those guards did come to faith! Apparently Watchman Nee had learned a powerful lesson from the Apostle Paul.

In Paul's letter to the Church in Ephesus, observe how he describes himself – an ambassador in chains. Locked away in a prison, Paul adamantly refuses to allow his circumstances to dictate or alter his identity. He may be in chains, but he remains the Lord's ambassador.

Can you imagine Paul chained up in that dungeon, throwing up his hands saying, "That's it; it's over; I'm finished!?"

Not on your life! Instead the apostle grows bolder as an ambassador; not intimidated or ashamed, because Paul isn't chained in his Spirit, he's only bound in the flesh. Remember how he concludes his letter to the Philippian Church declaring, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Kimberly, don't allow yourself to be defined by your past, or "chained" by your current circumstances. God has also called you to be an ambassador for Him. With so much work to be done, we ought to be growing even bolder, right in the midst of our trials and tribulations!

Organization:

Do you see this hand? When this hand comes together and organizes it becomes a fist. Why can't we get organized. There is so much potential, but I can't put it together. Don't try to put everything together, put something together and when you get successful with something, you can go on to everything. Organization is a person's best friend.

Prayer is Work

"Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured. I vouch for him that he is working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis." Colossians 4:12-13

Prayer is not a passive undertaking—rather it is an energized exercise of faith. Status quo believers only tip God with prayer, but eager followers of Jesus are compelled by an intense commitment to pray. Spiritual sweat flows from the pores of a soul earnestly engaged with eternity. There is a desperate dependency that devoted Christians display.
Adversity has a way of bringing us to our knees in utter reliance on our Lord. Prodigal children bring parents together in prayer. Death convenes communities and families in prayer. Misunderstandings, mistreatment and misguided motives move hearts to pray. These aggressive prayers respond to rough circumstances with a need for holy help. But there is another type of laborious prayer that petitions Christ on behalf of others.

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should" (Colossians 4:2-4).
Serious students of prayer know how to intercede on behalf of their brothers and sisters in the faith. They pray boldly for their friends and family to stand firm in the will of God—not wavering in face of the world's trials and temptations. Plead for those whose body writhes in pain—go before God and pray for His healing. Maybe on Monday you pray for missionary friends, and Tuesday pray for truth to transform your child's thinking.
Perhaps on Wednesday you gather your family together in prayer for our nation and leaders to follow the Lord's principles as defined in the Bible. On Thursday consider praying for those outside the faith: friends and neighbors who need to know Jesus. Friday can be prayers for your church, a ministry and their need for encouragement and financial support—offer Saturday prayers for the poor and needy, and on Sunday pray for those who gather in worship to be ignited by the Holy Spirit to live by grace through faith.
Devote yourself to aggressive and grateful prayers—and all the while anticipate what Almighty God wants to do in and through your life. Remain steadfast in your allegiance to heaven, without worrying about what you can't control. Earnestly pray for others and you will experience the joy of unselfish service and the exhilaration of Christ's replies.
"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops" (James 5:16b-17). How can I increase the intensity of my prayers in a faith focused for others and their needs?

My Thoughts About This:

I really liked this: Remain steadfast in your allegiance to heaven, without worrying about what you can't control. Because I have found that things I can't control keep popping up and taking my focus away from my prayer time, so this was a great, great piece of wisdom for me today. We are all in relationships and there are things in our relationships that are so coated in the human condition that it drags us down in it. I must learn in my relationships, especially with family that I need to let go and let God. Keep my focus on God, stay in the kingdom purpose flow He has for me in my day and not let myself be distracted about things I can't control. So be it Lord God.

"He shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord."
Micah 5:4

Micah 5:4-7

4 And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God; and they shall dwell [secure], for then shall He be great [even] to the ends of the earth. 5 And this [One] shall be our peace. When the Assyrian comes into our land and treads upon our soil and in our palaces, then will we raise against him seven shepherds and eight princes among men. 6 And they shall rule and waste the land of Assyria with the sword and the land of Nimrod within her [Assyria's own] gates. Thus shall He [the Messiah] deliver us from the Assyrian [representing the opposing powers] when he comes into our land and when he treads on our borders.7 Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers upon the grass which [come suddenly and] tarry not for man nor wait for the sons of men.

Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

Christ's reign in his Church is that of a shepherd-king. He has supremacy, but it is the superiority of a wise and tender shepherd over his needy and loving flock; he commands and receives obedience, but it is the willing obedience of the well-cared-for sheep, rendered joyfully to their beloved Shepherd, whose voice they know so well. He rules by the force of love and the energy of goodness.

His reign is practical in its character. It is said, "He shall stand and feed." The great Head of the Church is actively engaged in providing for his people. He does not sit down upon the throne in empty state, or hold a sceptre without wielding it in government. No, he stands and feeds. The expression "feed," in the original, is like an analogous one in the Greek, which means to shepherdize, to do everything expected of a shepherd: to guide, to watch, to preserve, to restore, to tend, as well as to feed.

His reign is continual in its duration. It is said, "He shall stand and feed;" not "He shall feed now and then, and leave his position;" not, "He shall one day grant a revival, and then next day leave his Church to barrenness." His eyes never slumber, and his hands never rest; his heart never ceases to beat with love, and his shoulders are never weary of carrying his people's burdens.

His reign is effectually powerful in its action; "He shall feed in the strength of Jehovah." Wherever Christ is, there is God; and whatever Christ does is the act of the Most High. Oh! it is a joyful truth to consider that he who stands today representing the interests of his people is very God of very God, to whom every knee shall bow. Happy are we who belong to such a shepherd, whose humanity communes with us, and whose divinity protects us. Let us worship and bow down before him as the people of his pasture.

My Thoughts About This:

Micah 5:4 This is a really cool scripture. I pray it for all of us today! May we stand and feed in the strength of our AWE-GOD!

Exhortation- The Shepherd's Communicated Love-Wisdom!

Pastor Greg! I will add you to the prayer list.  Remember God is always being, nothing or no situations can stop Him from being for you.  He is for you.  Circumstances dictate untruth at times because we only see in part, but God's got the whole of  your pastorate in His hands. 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled. and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.

Father God, I lift up each of these requests to You and pray for Your Divine Intervention in every person, every family, every situation, I pray Your Kingdom Purpose will prevail, bring each of us into a Holy Alliance with Your Sovereign Will, help us to be bold, confident and may our faith stand strong as You work out the best possible solution for us. Thank You Way-Maker! AMEN!

Wow.. .tough season of life for Ed. I pray Ed knows deeply that God is always being and from one season to the next in our lives, He is with us, we are never alone, we are always learning and growing and God is powerfully working in the unseen as our Advocate for our good. Ed, cling tighter to God, dig your roots deeper in His love. So Be It! God is for you!

Awakening!

1 John 2 ~ The Message Bible

5-17Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world—wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important—has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from him. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting is on the way out—but whoever does what God wants is set for eternity.

My Thoughts About This:

So be it Jesus! You and You alone, awake my soul! For the world we love, let Your will be done in me, for You and You alone, awake my soul…

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Psalm 51:6 Behold, You desire truth in the inner being; make me therefore to know wisdom in my inmost heart."

When we talk of the "inmost heart" or "secret heart", what are we talking about?

"Truth in the inner being" is from God. If there is anything we do or believe of the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-22) in our inmost heart it is not TRUTH. It did not come from God.

Dear Bob and Kim,

Our God is a God of truth, grace, mercy, justice, love and all things good. His desire is to see in every one of us the godliness and righteousness which can only come through a relationship with Jesus Christ. The relationship that Jesus desires with us is not one of convenience but one of consistency. He desires a relationship that withstands the storms of controversy, disagreements, pain, suffering, and turmoil.

Bob and Kim, He is coming back for His BRIDE (those who are true, born again believers) and He takes His marriage vows more seriously than any bride or groom from the beginning of time. He is not coming back for theologians. He is not coming back for academics. He is not coming back for the best dressed. He is not impressed with our achievements or our resume'. He is coming back for what belongs to HIM. The heart, the "inmost heart", the heart of the redeemed, the heart of the new creation born again is what He is looking for. We will be known on the Day of His Coming when the sheep are separated from the goats.

Revelation 22:12-16

12 "Look! I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me to repay each person according to what he has done.

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the Tree of Life and may enter the city by the gates.

15 Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to attest these things to you for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright Morning Star."

What is your desire? What will He find in YOUR inmost heart?

Pastor Elliott

Enduring Love

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:5

The love of God never ceases. Christ's love is continual because it flows from the inexhaustible reservoir of God's goodness. Man's lakes can languish for lack of rain, but the Lord's never will. There is no drought of love in the divine scheme of things. It rains down from heaven in sheets of mercy and faithfulness. It pelts our pride and melts our heart. The love of God endures. Your Heavenly Father's love is not fickled. It is faithful and true.

Your earthly father's love may be conditional and undependable. It may be hard for him to love, because he has not been loved. But you have the opportunity and privilege of moving beyond the drought of your dad's love, and bowing beneath the overflow of Christ's compassion. Christ's covenant of love with His children never alters. You can trust God's unfailing love forever and ever (Psalm 52:8).

Therefore, because of God's enduring love, you have reason to rejoice. His love is your excuse to exercise enormous and ongoing praise and thanksgiving. Do not remain defeated by dire circumstances and negative thinking. God loves you; He has saved your soul. God loves you; He has made you whole. God loves you; He provides you work. God loves you; He has given you life. God loves you!

Indeed, it is important that you have a full understanding of every good thing God has given you (Philemon 1:6). When you do, you cannot help but exclaim His goodness and mercy. Your shouts of joy drown out the murmurings meandering in your mind. You are His. "Owned by God" is your trademark of trust. Let gratitude govern your thinking, because God's love endures forever.

Because His love is everlasting, you have Christ's capacity to continually love. You can love sinners and saints alike. Jesus did (Luke 5:30). He spent time with people unlike Himself. This is the posture of love. During the Christmas season, make sure you reach out and love on the unlovable. Be patient, kind, and forgiving toward family members who don't have a clue of what Christ has done for them. Love them, even when they are hard to understand. Love them in spite of their unfair criticism and surly sarcasm.

Release God's love to shine through your soul. Be a leader of love. You know better. Your love will make a lasting impression on your parents and on your children. The Lord uses Christ's love manifested through you to lead others to Himself. Be a love leader who endures. Love during the good times and especially the hard times. Love endures.

A Minute With Maxwell

Prosper is not only a financial word. When people think of being prosperous they think in financial terms. Are you prosperous in your health, taking good care of your body. Are you prosperous in your relationships, if you are rich in relationships you are a rich prosperous person. Are you prosperous in ideas? Prosperity is intentional. Prosperous in thinking, you set aside times to think. Prosperous in relationships you take time with people. Prosperous is a way of thinking and doing, it is a way of life.

Contentment

Is a good thing. It is a stabilizer for success. Discontentment keeps you moving, but it does not keep you moving well. The ability to know and accept, appreciate who you are and value where you are in the journey is very important to success. If you are content where you are and are enjoying this part of the journey then this is energy to continue the journey. Discontentment keeps you running down rabbit trails, contentment allows you to know who you are and where you are and there is value in this.

Undivided Heart

Teach me your way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11

An undivided heart unites around the will of God. The heart is our headquarters for His purposes. It is here that humility reigns with focus and clarity, but pride's rule divides. The attributes of its scepter are awe and intimidation. Pride divides, while humility unites. It is our undivided devotion to God that determines our other devotions. It excludes some and creates others. So as your faith becomes more focused, you become more focused. You do fewer things well, instead of many things mediocre.

Your life becomes a laser beam of implementation in the Lord's best. People may wonder why your efforts are increasingly intentional. You can tell them that God is teaching you to focus. Like an infant, you are growing beyond the milk of your salvation to the meat of His Word. Hebrews 6:1a teaches, "Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity…"

An undivided heart is a student of the Lord's for life. There is no "arriving" in this life. We don't know it all until we are in the presence of the Almighty. Indeed, the wise remain learners of the Lord's teachings their whole life long. An undivided heart craves teaching that goes beyond the surface of salvation and into the depths of dependence on God. The mature understanding of God gets to the heart of the matter. It is in this place of integrity where you divide your heart in disobedience, or unite it in obedience. An undivided heart places you on a path marked by His truth. It is walking in His ways.

Walking is a lifestyle. It is a way of doing things. Obedience to God's truth becomes a habit of living life with an undivided heart. Your undivided heart propels you along His prayerful and proper path. He walks with you in the valley of death (Psalm 23:4) and on the mountaintop of life (Matthew 17:1-3). A faith-focused heart invites your heavenly Father in. It is a fulcrum for your faith.

Therefore, avoid double minded duties. God hates double-mindedness (Psalm 119:113). Only when you draw near to God can you deal with double-mindedness (James 4:8). Double-mindedness is a first cousin of a divided heart. Instead, unite around Christ and His teachings. Make His behavior the baseline for your life and work. It may mean engaging professional services that align more with your values.

It may mean changing to a church that unapologetically teaches God's Word. It may mean breaking off a relationship that divides your heart and conflicts your mind. A united heart does not avoid the difficult path of obedience. It submits to its Savior and models Him. Though you may be torn, make sure to trust by praying, "Not my will, but Your will be done."
