AWE- ALMIGHTY GOD!

Make My Life Excellent In You-Constant In Your Courage!

Psalm 91:4

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

The last days are upon us. You didn't ask to be born when you were. God chose you to be alive now. With that choosing comes all the grace you need to stand and be a hero of faith in these awesome days. Embrace His grace, embrace the tremendous privilege that is yours. Like the three young men in the fiery furnace, say boldly and courageously, "Our God is able to deliver us, but even if He doesn't, we will not bow." Barbara Richmond

Job 12:9

9Who [is so blind as] not to recognize in all these [that good and evil are promiscuously scattered throughout nature and human life] that it is God's hand which does it [and God's way]?

Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

Excerpt From The Book Streams In The Desert:

"A number of years ago the most magnificent diamond in the history of the world was found in an
African mine. It was then presented to the king of England. The king sent it to Amsterdam to be cut by an expert stone cutter. He took this gem of priceless value and cut a notch in it. Then he struck it one hart time with his hammer, and the majestic jewel fell into his hand, broken in two. All you see is that one blow with the hammer, but what you did not see was it had been studied and planned for days, and even weeks. Drawings and models had been made of the gem. It qualities, defects and possible lines along which it would split had all been studied to the smallest detail. And the man to whom it was entrusted was one of the most skilled stonecutters in the world.

The blow that seemed to be the ruin of the majestic precious stone was actually its perfect redemption, for from the halves were fashioned into two magnificent gems. Only the skilled eye of the expert stonecutter could have seen the beauty of two diamonds hidden in the rough, uncut stone as it come from the mine.

Sometimes, in the same way, God lets a stinging blow fall on your life. You bleed, feeling the pain, and your soul cries out I agony. At first you think the blow is an appalling mistake. But it is not, for you are the most precious jewel in the world to God. And He is the most skilled stone cutter in the universe.

Someday you are to be a jewel adoring the crown of the King. As you lie in His hand now, He knows just how to deal with you. Not one blow will be permitted to fall on your apprehensive soul except what the love of God allows. And you may be assured that from the depths of the experience, you will see untold blessings and spiritual enrichment you have never before imagined." J.H. M.

Excerpts From George McDonald;s Book:

"I wonder why God made me. I certainly don't see any purpose in it!"

"Perhaps you don't see any purpose yet, but then, He isn't finished making you. And besides, you are arguing with the process."

Excerpt From Streams In The Desert!

"If people would only believe they are still in the process of creation, submit to the Maker, allowing Him to handle them as a potter handles clay, and yield themselves in one shining deliberate action to the turning of His wheel, they would soon find themselves able to welcome every pressure from His hand on them, even if it results in pain. And sometimes they should not only believe but also have God's purpose in sight:"

Hebrews 2:10-13

It makes good sense that the God who got everything started and keeps everything going now completes the work by making the Salvation Pioneer perfect through suffering as he leads all these people to glory. Since the One who saves and those who are saved have a common origin, Jesus doesn't hesitate to treat them as family, saying, I'll tell my good friends, my brothers and sisters, all I know about you; I'll join them in worship and praise to you. Again, he puts himself in the same family circle when he says, Even I live by placing my trust in God. And yet again, I'm here with the children God gave me.

My Thoughts About This:

I wince when I think about my God of Love hitting me with a blow. It is so hard to fathom, so hard to make sense out of it and it is a part of my Christianity I don't want to talk about or look at, at times. When an athlete blows her knee out in the prime of her season, a father is killed in Iraq, a mom dies of cancer, a 16 year old daughter runs away from home, a child starves, a job is lost, a home is lost, a friend dies of cancer, a helicopter is shot down with 30 dead… I have to admit I have always had an earthly viewpoint of suffering and it is time for me to learn and grow in Kingdom things, to see things through the perspective of the "kingdom purpose principle". Life is not just about me being comfortable and at ease and always making perfect sense. Everything doesn't always make sense to me, even my Savior, dying on a cross, a KING coming to earth as a pauper makes no human sense to me from the perspective of my human condition. In light of the Kingdom of God, suffering and sacrifice have been invested in my eternity. For the greater good, the better purpose, my loving Father God will allow suffering to touch my life, just as He did His only son, Jesus. Suffering is not outside the Presence, purpose, provision and peace of God, therefore I do not dread, forebode or fear. Instead I say: Not my human will but Your Kingdom purpose be done in me and through me. AMEN! I accept the part of My Christianity, the kingdom purpose principle, that at times I was not made to wrap my mind around but am supposed to slip my belief and trust in the flow of the blood of the Lamb, sacrificed for my eternity. Living for the here and now is overated, the Kingdom of God is at hand!

Matthew 11:10-20

This is the one of whom it is written, Behold, I send My messenger ahead of You, who shall make ready Your way before You. 11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize--a [a]share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion]. 13 For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied up until John. 14 And if you are willing to receive and accept it, John himself is Elijah who was to come [before the kingdom]. 15 He who has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him consider and [b]perceive and comprehend by hearing. 16 But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like little children sitting in the marketplaces who call to their playmates, 17 We piped to you [playing wedding], and you did not dance; we wailed dirges [playing funeral], and you did not mourn and beat your breasts and weep aloud. 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking [with others], and they say, He has a demon! 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking [with others], and they say, Behold, a glutton and a wine drinker, a friend of tax collectors and [[c]especially wicked] sinners! Yet wisdom is justified and vindicated by what she does (her deeds) and by [d]her children. 20 Then He began to censure and reproach the cities in which most of His mighty works had been performed, because they did not repent [and their hearts were not changed].

My Thoughts About This:

The Kingdom of God is to be seized. We need to be actively following Jesus and not waiting for the Kingdom to show itself our way, in a way we can understand or feel comfortable with! You don't wait for the kingdom to happen to You, we serve the Kingdom with our lives. We are servant warriors and our lives are violent in spiritual warfare! It is a bold and courageous life-style of radical decision from moment to choices, life-actions that rip at the heart of culturalism and defend, protect and advance the Kingdom of God. It is an aggressive life that is set apart in the things of the Kingdom of God, not looking at the world for gain, but investing in the Kingdom for the good glory of God. The Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ is within us, and it is with zeal our lives should be lived surrendered unto God with every sacrifice invested in His Kingdom.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary on the Bible is available in the Public Domain.

Receiving Prophets

Those who received Jesus' prophets received him (10:41); most of Israel had accepted neither John the prophet nor Jesus (11:16-19) and hence invited greater judgment than wicked cities that had heard less of God's message (11:20-24). After encouraging John's faith, Jesus praises John's mission (vv. 7-15). Perhaps he does so only after the messengers' departure (v. 7; Lk 7:24) because it is not for us to know the magnitude of our service until the final day (10:26; 25:21), but in any case Jesus uses the event that has just transpired as an opportunity to provide the crowds with an object lesson about the kingdom (11:11-12).

John's Sacrificial Life Proves He Is God's Servant (11:7-8)

In parallel questions, Jesus begins by affirming what John was not. First, he was not a moral weakling, easily blown about by public opinion or human authority (contrast his persecutor in 14:5; compare 21:46; 22:46). People who proved too weak for the test that awaited them were compared to papyrus reeds, easily moved by the wind (1 Kings 14:15; 2 Kings 18:21; 3 Macc 2:22; compare Is 42:3; Mt 12:20). (On the banks of the Jordan, the site of John's baptism, reeds grew as high as five meters.) John was no easily bent reed.

Second, John was no pampered prince or court prophet who might be tempted to prophesy for hire. Some prophets had found a home in royal courts, but only in those few generations when kings were godly enough to welcome their counsel (or when rare kings themselves met the ideal of being prophetically empowered themselves: compare 1 Sam 10:1, 5-6; 2 Sam 23:2-3). In most generations false prophets outnumbered true prophets; even when they claimed to prophesy for Yahweh, they were really the king's prophets (1 Kings 22:22-23). In times when true prophets were severely persecuted, some of them lived in the wilderness, as in the days of Elijah (1 Kings 17:3; 18:13; compare 2 Kings 4:38-44; 6:1-3). John was a prophet in that mold, with nothing to gain from his prophesying except the approval of his God.

The Servant's Message Is What Makes Him Great (11:9-11)

Unlike Elijah and unlike the disciples, John had no signs (compare Jn 10:41), but what made him the greatest prophet until that point, even a new Elijah (see comment on Mt 3:4), was that he had the honor of introducing Jesus himself (11:9-10, 13-14). The greatness of John thus implies something about the greatness of Jesus. Because the text Jesus cites to prove his case refers to preparing God's way (Mal 3:1), and Jewish tradition usually viewed Elijah as preparing God's rather than the Messiah's way (compare Edgar 1958:48; Manson 1979:69), Jesus dramatically implies his own divine status here (Gundry 1975:214), although his disciples probably would not have dared assume he meant that.

Jewish people usually viewed the era of the prophets as ending with Malachi (see Keener 1991b:77-91); Jesus continues it until John, who becomes the pivotal first voice of the new order when those greater than the prophets (Mt 5:12; 10:41; 13:17; 23:34) will speak. But Jesus' concern here is hardly neat historical divisions to aid students memorizing time lines; instead he may allude to the Jewish recognition that the Law and the Prophets pointed to the coming messianic era (b. Berakot 34b; Sanhedrin 99a; compare Acts 3:24), which had now confronted them in his own ministry (12:28).

John's role was great because of the greatness of the One he introduced. If disciples of the kingdom have a greater role than John, it is not because we are more devout than he was; it is because we proclaim a fuller message of the kingdom than John could, for we can look back and understand what John did not (see above on 11:2-3): the kingdom is not only future but was present in Jesus (v. 12). Because such greatness is not dependent on us but on the roles God has assigned us, we must do his will humbly, seeking his honor alone. The least in the kingdom is greater than John in the sense that anyone in the kingdom has a fuller message than those who spoke beforehand. In another sense of the phrase, the least in the kingdom may also be the greatest in the kingdom, because God will evaluate us according to our faithfulness in deferring all honor to him rather than to ourselves (18:1-4).

The Kingdom Belongs to Those Who Contend for It (11:12-15)

Compare Luke 16:16. Our roles may be determined by grace, but grace does not erase human responsibility. Many people thought that God's kingdom would come by violent revolution against the Gentile nations, a view that Jesus clearly rejected (Mt 5:5, 9, 41); some think Jesus is rejecting such a program here, censuring revolutionaries or social bandits (for example, Cullmann 1956b:20-21). Others take the more likely approach that Jesus censures those who oppose Jesus, John and the kingdom (for example, Catchpole 1978).

But especially in Luke's form, the text does not read like censure, and it is not clear that Matthew intends the saying in this sense either. This saying may be a wisdom teacher's riddle (Stein 1978:18). Jesus regularly borrowed images from his society and applied them in shocking ways, and thus may speak favorably here of spiritual warriors who were storming their way into God's kingdom now (10:34-35; compare Vermes 1993:140). One second-century Jewish tradition praises those who passionately pursue the law; God counts it as if they had ascended to heaven and taken the law forcibly, which the tradition regards as greater than having taken it peaceably (Sipre Deut. 49.2.1).

These were the people actively following Jesus, not simply waiting for the kingdom to come their way. (Scholars frequently object that such language of violence is always used negatively, but Jesus' parables show that he did not hesitate to employ shocking images for the advance of God's reign, such as brutal tyrants, an unexpected thief, unjust judges and perhaps a naively benevolent landowner: Mt 18:25, 34; 24:42-43; Lk 18:2; Mk 12:6.) If John is Elijah (Mt 11:14-15; see comment on vv. 9-11), then he introduced the kingdom (Mal 4:5), a time of greater blessing and greater responsibility.

"When I said, "My foot is slipping," your unfailing love, LORD, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy." Psalm 94:18-19 NIV

Precious Family,

Nothing we sacrifice is truly a sacrifice, because really we own nothing, it all belongs to God. I read the above scripture today and realized that all our sacrifices are investments in God's Kingdom, one that He will make good returns on. It is hard living away from our home, I can't tell you it isn't. I miss family, friends, neighbors and I miss the mountain life, my home, my things, but I can tell you that the joy of being in the perfect purposes of God is greater than all that. When we stand up before those soldiers on Sunday morning and we get the privilege of sharing Jesus with men who will sacrifice so much for our freedom, we are not thinking of what we have given up, we are thinking of what we have received from God and what an honor it is to serve our AWE-GOD!

I pray for us Bob, Kim, Brad, Bonnie, Kiele, Ryanne, Chris, Summer, Noah, Kenneth, Tina that God would burn the wisdom from this scripture in our hearts, that we would surrender to God all of our "things" so that our heart can be fully submitted to His will and we, each of us would be fully functioning in His Kingdom purposes for our lives. So be it Jesus. Make us like You, You are a servant, make us one too! Jesus!

Have a great week and know mommac and papamac are hoping huge in Jesus for you. Love you! May God Bless Each Of You…. HUGE!

Jesus keep Summer and Noah safe as they travel to Michigan.

Father God, be with Chris, heal his body, give him strength and increase his faith in You. Draw him to you.

Jesus bless Bob, Chris, Brad, Kenneth help them to lead their familes, draw them to You Jesus, make them like You.

Father meet the needs of these young families be their provider, their Way-Maker. Jesus!

Father touch Max, Kenneth's grand dad. Be his comfort, his healer, His peace today. Jesus!

Father give each of us favor with our employers: Brad, Kenneth, Chris, Bob, Tina, Bonnie

Jesus be with my grandchildren, bless them, protect them, keep them. Be with Kiele and Ryanne in school, help them learn and keep them from harm. Be with Noah, help him to eat better, be the health of his body, the strength of his growth. Jesus!

Father bless my husband, strengthen him, give him wisdom favor and grace. Jesus. Help him to lead this home. Guide him Holy Spirit. AMEN!

Excerpts-Thoughts From The Bridegroom's Voice

Mon Aug 22: My Thoughts: From The Bridegroom's Voice Week 2

  • Jesus says: I AM your Promised One, always and forever! Let Me Be Enough! I've Got This!
  • If my hope is in Jesus, my questions will be focused on Kingdom purposes and not myself.
  • The truth is not disposable! God's truth sticks and does not leave me with empty-headed questions. God's truth is simply-significantly enough.
  • Questions! Are they doubts? Is my questioning heart one of unbelief in my God?
  • When I don't trust Your motives, Lord it is the measure of my insecurity and I am sure this is propped up by doubt and unbelief.
  • My personal insecurity grows stronger and is voiced louder through my questions and actions when it is propped up by unbelief. Lord help me believe.

Matthew 8:24-27

Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" 26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"

New International Version (NIV) Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica

My Thoughts About This Verse:

  • If I am questioning what God is doing in my life, this is on me not on Him. It shows how much I don't know His heart. I need to know You more. I need to know the passion of Your heart for me and I will question You less.
  • Fear! Fear is truly a lack of trust and trust is not knowing God enough. If I don't know God, how can I believe in Him, how can I believe in His faithfulness. I need to know God more.
  • The more I know God, the more I open myself to experience the fullness of Who He is in me, the more my AWE will grow of Him and the less I will question His motives. He is for me.

Luke 12:6-7

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

New International Version (NIV) Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica

My Thoughts About This Verse:

  • Our culture with its foolish ideals, shrinks God down, but that does not stop God from being HUGE!
  • I need a different perspective of God, mine is too small. I need to see God through the eyes of AWE. I need to develop my AWE-GOD by being in the Word more, learning of WHO He is! If I do this, the questioning spirit in me will stop! I will just know God!
  • God knows me. God knows everything about me. Fear Not! I am worth so much to my God! Believe!

Notes From Listening To Romans 8

No Condemnation…. Through Jesus I have been set free. The law was powerless weakened by the sinful nature. Jesus was my sin offering, so I can live according to His Spirit, following His nature, not mine!. Live according to the spirit. Don't live according to sinful nature, minds set according to flesh nature. Set your mind according to the Spirit. The mind controlled by the spirit is life and peace. The sinful mind is hostile to God. Don't be controlled by the sinful nature or you will not please God- be controlled by the spirit, belong to Christ. Jesus is in me, my body is dead to sin. The spirit of Him Who raised Jesus from the dead will give life to my mortal body through His spirit Who lives in me. My obligation is not to the flesh nature but to Jesus. Those led by the Spirit of God are Sons of God. I did not receive fear, but I received son ship. The Spirit of God testifies with our spirit that we are God's Children, Co heirs with
Christ, we share with his suffering and =his glory. The glory revealed with in us is more than our present sufferings. The will of God subjects us to trials to liberate us from our flesh. The whole creation groans right up to the present time. The 1st fruits of the spirit grows inwardly as we wait for God for in this hope we are saved. Who hopes for what He already has, we hope for what we don't have and we wait patiently. The spirit helps us in our weakness, helps us pray. He who searches our hearts knows the mind of our spirit and intercedes according to God's will. God works for good those called according to his purpose. He predestined us to be conformed to Jesus. He called us, justified us and glorifies us. Response to this: if God is for us who can be against us. He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all, along with Him He will graciously give us what we need. It is God who justifies. Christ Jesus was raised to life, at the right hand of God and is interceding for us. Nothing can separate us from God, no trouble, hardship, danger or sword… We are considered as sheep to be laughter and in all these things we are more than conquers. Neither death nor life, present or future, height or depth nor anything in all creation will be able to separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Unprofitable Profit

"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?" Mark 8:36-37 NKJV

Profit is good, if it produces the right results, but profit is bad if the results are unwise. The world, the flesh and the devil offer an exchange that is enticing to the eye, but it starves the soul. The world offers power in exchange for a compromise in character. The flesh offers self-indulgence in exchange for discipline and service to others. And the devil through his deception offers fortune in exchange for neglect of family responsibilities.
Christians can get sucked into society's strong solicitations—like standing too close behind a giant box fan—they feel the pull of unfaithfulness. Less their soul be shredded, there must be intentionality toward a heart pure with motives that honor the Lord and a mind that's wise in it's application of truth. Wise people pursue the Lord first and do not chase profits that compete with Christ. God's gains give real life to the soul not death.
 "
Truly I tell you," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first" (Mark 10:29-31).
Every human has a soul that deeply desires spiritual nourishment from Christ. The soul is what distinguishes men and women from animals, plants and the rest of God's creation. In the soul resides our will, emotions and eternal essence. It's from this spiritual seat that Christ desires to rule over our surrendered life. A submitted soul sees God by faith, but a rebellious soul is lost and blind to His ways. Peace is the profit of a soul secure in Jesus.
Is your soul alive or dead to the Lord's call on your life? Do you seek Him or are you attracted to and preoccupied with the ways of the world? Perhaps you take an audit of your actions and honestly evaluate your pursuits. Do your activities promote soul care? Has your soul been converted to Christ or is it still controlled by the culture? It's eternally profitable when your soul takes the time to drink often by the deep waters of God's grace.

Life's wise exchange is abundant living and eternal life in heaven, not earthly endeavors with a hopeless future separated from the Lord. Even in your service for the Lord, do not use it as a substitute for your devotion to the Lord. Gain what you cannot lose—God's grace—and lose what can be lost. Seek profitable profits in pursuit of knowing Christ.

"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience" (Colossians 1:9-11).
What pursuits does the Lord have for me in this season of life?

****My Prayer! I Place All My Expectation In You, Almighty God!*****

Psalm 62:5 (amplified) My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved.

Church, seek first the Kingdom of God so you don't get caught up in and snared by disposable theory!

http://thebridegroomscafe.com/lltalkit9.htm #BGV

God's truth sticks-does not leave me with empty-headed questions. God's truth is simply-significantly enough. http://thebridegroomscafe.com/lltalkit9.htm #BGV

God's Question: Why is it you disapprove of My decisions before you trust in My methods?

http://thebridegroomscafe.com/lltalkit9.htm #BGV

My insecurity grows stronger-is voiced loudly through my questions-actions when it is propped up by unbelief. http://bit.ly/oaRHdP #BGV

The more I know God, the more I open myself to experience the fullness of Who He is in me, the more my AWE will grow of Him and the less I will question His motives. He is for me.

I need a different perspective of God, mine is too small. I need to see God through the eyes of AWE. I need to develop my AWE-GOD http://thebridegroomscafe.com/lltalkit9.htm #BGV

God knows me. God knows everything about me. Fear Not! I am worth so much to my God! Believe!
