Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! It may seem an easy thing to wait, but it is one of the postures which a Christian soldier learns not without years of teaching. Marching and quick-marching are much easier to God's warriors than standing still. There are hours of perplexity when the most willing spirit, anxiously desirous to serve the Lord, knows not what part to take. Then what shall it do? Vex itself by despair? Fly back in cowardice, turn to the right hand in fear, or rush forward in presumption? No, but simply wait. Wait in prayer, however. Call upon God, and spread the case before him; tell him your difficulty, and plead his promise of aid. In dilemmas between one duty and another, it is sweet to be humble as a child, and wait with simplicity of soul upon the Lord. It is sure to be well with us when we feel and know our own folly, and are heartily willing to be guided by the will of God. But wait in faith. Express your unstaggering confidence in him; for unfaithful, untrusting waiting, is but an insult to the Lord. Believe that if he keep you tarrying even till midnight, yet he will come at the right time; the vision shall come and shall not tarry. Wait in quiet patience, not rebelling because you are under the affliction, but blessing your God for it. Never murmur against the second cause, as the children of Israel did against Moses; never wish you could go back to the world again, but accept the case as it is, and put it as it stands, simply and with your whole heart, without any self-will, into the hand of your covenant God, saying, "Now, Lord, not my will, but thine be done. I know not what to do; I am brought to extremities, but I will wait until thou shalt cleave the floods, or drive back my foes. I will wait, if thou keep me many a day, for my heart is fixed upon thee alone, O God, and my spirit waiteth for thee in the full conviction that thou wilt yet be my joy and my salvation, my refuge and my strong tower."

We are too busy to pray, and so we are too busy to have power. We have a great deal of activity, but we accomplish little; many services but few conversions; much machinery but few results.

I will teach you how to side step the tornados that suddenly arise in your path and I will give you the wisdom of how to stand safely outside these temporary whirlwinds of your enemy until they spin out.
This is a wisdom I desperately need. My mind gets filled with these tornados and as I chase them, the emotional devastation is great.
Holy Spirit, teach me the wisdom of waiting out these mind-tornados my enemy spins up with "What If" circulations, tempests of doubt, fear, anxiety.
Lies, doubts, fears, anxieties will eventually spin out, only truth has to power to prevail. Wait on God, and every untruth spun in your mind will unravel.

Matthew 25:11-13

Later the other virgins also came and said, Lord, Lord, open [the door] to us! 12 But He replied, I solemnly declare to you, I do not know you [I am not acquainted with you]. 13Watch therefore [give strict attention and be cautious and active], for you know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of Man will come.

We can get so busy with all the whirlwinds the enemy spins in our mind, that we are missing out on the real things that are happening, the God Things.
Be cautious. Be ready for each day, by guarding my heart with the truth and promises of God.
Know God. My relationship with God should be my number one priority. I should not be chasing the tornados the enemy spins, I should be still before my God in AWE with my ears listening for His voice. This is how my day should start.
Every day I should anticipate the adventure I will be on with Awe-GOD and not start my day dreading the things I my enemy will throw in my path.

I was dead in sin. I followed the ways of this world. Gratifying the cravings of what I wanted. Nature wrathful. God who is rich in mercy made me alive in Christ even when I was dead in sin. It is by Grace I have been saved. God has raised me up with Christ. His grace is expressed in kindness towards me. It is by grace I have been saved, through faith. It is not about me or what I can do, It is God's gift. I am God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, things God prepared I advance for me. I was separate from Christ, excluded and without hope. But in Christ Jesus I have been brought near to God through the blood of Christ. Jesus destroys the hostility by abolishing the law by His crucifixion. Reconciling me to God through the cross. Jesus came and preached peace and through Him I have access to the father God by the Holy Spirit. I am a citizen, a member of God's household, Jesus as the chief cornerstone…. We are his building that rises to become the Holy Temple fo the Lord. I am a dwelling by which God lives by His Spirit.

Hey everyone!

Just thinking about our class last night and had a few comments:

Sometimes… life just stinks! You never planned to be where you are, but you know God has allowed it to touch your life. He owns your life. You are His manager of your life that He owns and you follow after the Owner of your life and this is dependence you declare every day as you seek God 1st. God is the owner, you are the manager. You can't manage your life very well without being led by the Owner. He holds the keys to the house!

The greatest place to be is a position where you have given up. Okay Lord! I surrender! You don't know your next step, everything is unfamiliar and you are so way out of your comfort zone. I love the song: Something by David Crowder band ( I put a link to it below) because it says exactly how I have felt and feel at times. Knowing your next step truly is all about surrender, giving up and looking to God, waiting on Him, learning to trust that "He's Got This" even when it looks and feels like He doesn't!! Faith is not looking at the seen and wishing for comfort and ease, faith is believing in the unseen and hoping for God's Kingdom to come into your reality on earth as it is in heaven.

Why do we wait on God, well many reasons but one comes to mind about us being so torn up by life, by the consequences of our sins and the sins of others, this is not a place where we can make a functional decision, but when we turn to God, we abandoned ourselves to His Love, we seek Him 1st, then He heals us and this is the 1st part of His guiding us, healing our emotions and giving us eyes to see the truth about our heart motives and where we are in our life relationship with Him.

When we get lost in Jesus, the One Who holds our future then through His eyes, we will see our next step and the peace and stability of His life is what we follow. We can get so lost in God, so lost in His Love that all we eventually will see and feel the desire to grow and go and go for Him alone. Life then stops being about us and what we want and begins to be about following God for what He desires. Then it doesn't matter where He sends us, because we know He is with us, for us and His Kingdom purposes through us will make an eternal mark in our lives.

Christ is Wisdom

"We preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God." 1 Corinthians 1:23-24

Christ is the wisdom of God, so to know Him is to know and understand godly wisdom. The life of Jesus illustrates for us wisdom and His teaching educates us in wisdom. It's in relationship with God the Son that Christians are able to grow in godly wisdom. The source of wise counsel is found in Christ—like pure water bubbles from the crevice of a remote mountain rock, so God's living water of truth flows from the heart of Jesus.

Because wisdom starts with Jesus, it is necessary to first enter into a personal relationship with Christ. The Holy Scriptures declare a Savior who is looking to love all those who come to Him in faith and repentance. Salvation in Jesus Christ is the first step required to obtain His wisdom. Fear of God leads to faith in God—which can then access the wisdom of God. So, have you placed your faith in Jesus Christ? If so you are very wise.

"Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:15b).

Since we have access to wisdom through faith in Jesus, then it is wise to lean into understanding His ways. We can anticipate—like a starved man or woman coming off of a ten-day hunger strike—we have a smorgasbord of truth at our disposal. His wisdom is rich in relational nutrients, financial nourishment and emotional energy. Your Savior Jesus is not stingy with His counsel—He liberally gives wisdom to those He loves.

As the personification of wisdom we look and see a man who unconditionally loved people. He loved the rich and the poor—He loved all races—He loved male and female alike—He loved city folks and country dwellers—the educated and uneducated felt His fierce love—Kings and commoners did not escape His all-consuming compassion. Jesus, the all-wise one, initiated conversations of wisdom—He went to the people with wisdom.

Who in your circle of influence is hungry for you to love by passing on to them the wisdom of Christ? Once you discover His freeing truth, you are responsible to pay it forward by faith to other hungry hearts. Lead people to the waters of Christ's wisdom and they will never thirst again. Not only do you give a cup of wisdom in Jesus' name, but you show them how to draw from the deep well of His wisdom. Jesus is the wisdom of God.

"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts" (Colossians 3:16).

How can I grow to better know Christ by gaining His wisdom found in the Holy Scriptures?
