Philippians 4 ~ The Message Bible

6-7Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

8-9Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

He'll take you to an ungodly place so you can see the Holy Spirit rising up within you, transforming an impossible situation while transforming lives in the process. We don't want to go to "Nineveh." Nobody does. But by running and hiding, we miss being part of what God is doing in our day and age. Like Jonah almost did………..

My Thoughts About This:

Yep... Nineveh... the cool thing is that God has already gone before us and is with us and as long as we cling tightly to  Him and dig our roots deeply into His Kingdom... this life is good!!  I pray your new God Adventure brings you much joy... wait and see what God will do... He is amazing...  I had a Ninevite telling me what to do last night trying to manipulate me, I saw through their eyes to a dead life, a life who truly needs Jesus Christ and this great salvation passion rises up in me and it overcomes the prickles of the outside of  this lost audacious ninevite….so lost... I watched as not just one beer but three get carried out, then come back in for three more and I thought... drinking to peace... only it is just temporary... has to do that every day, yet I have the peace that lasts through it all... God's Presence-Peace! I want that for this ninevite too.  So I guess Nineveh is not so bad...... there is Kingdom purpose here.

Exactly the point! WE are being asked to "tolerate sin". To look the other way and if we don't, if our love for God, our passion for the things on His Heart move us to speak the truth in love, we are called bigots, Pharisees, homo-phobic, intolerant, hard hearted and whatever else the cultural labels want to sling. I heard this on the news: "This is just the way it is in our society, we just need to learn to tolerate those whose life-styles are different." No, the truth is these life-styles are not "different", they are man-made and have nothing to do with God's original design. Someone said: Christians need to be educated in "tolerance"! I think not! We need to stay in relationship with God and His Truth and speak God's truth in love and stand courageously in it! The love of God compels us to speak the truth in love, to be consistent with God's Truth with all people at all times. I greatly dislike the words tolerate and tolerant, especially when the grace of God is presumed on and the sinner has no mind at all to change, but wants to be accepted because they are genetically predisposed!? All things all genetics in God's creation are all formed by the very truth He spoke into being in the beginning when He created male and female. This is the fine line where God's truth trumps tolerance and it is a fine line that is balanced between God's Love and God's Truth. The hard hearted is the sinner who wants to keep sinning and their heart will not be softened by tolerance, only truth spoken in due season, at the inspiration of God's Holy Spirit, can set them free. If God speaks to my heart to share His Truth and Love, I will not chose tolerance! This is a time for truth and love and it is not a time for truth to take a back seat to tolerance. Truth trumps tolerance with eternity. Tolerance is not love. God would choose truth and love. A Pharisee's heart motive was all about religion and religiosity, and they were law driven. With Jesus, with His Holy Spirit in the picture, we can be relationally driven, we can know the thoughts and intents of God's heart and our hearts can be humble and contrite in the passion of God's heart, in His Truth and Love.

My #prayer is the world will not condition our mind today. Help us to go-grow in the wisdom of our #AWE-GOD! @worldprayr

We don't follow God's Truth, we rationalize it-diminish it down to a comfort level we can live easy with, therefore…pain. http://thebridegroomscafe.com/smorg.htm

Take Pride

"I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry." Romans 11:13

There is a good pride. It is a feeling of accomplishment when a job is well done. It knows God has placed you in a work environment or family that you are proud of, because they honor you, the Lord, and others with their life. Bad pride brags and takes credit for good work, but good pride is grateful to God for the opportunity to represent Him well at work. Take pride in your work, because it is a reflection of your relationship with Jesus. If your work is sloppy or incomplete then you lose the moral high ground to speak to people about God. But if you arrive early and stay late until the project is complete—then people want to learn why you are motivated to take such pride in doing your job with excellence.

"I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you. I am greatly encouraged; in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds" (2 Corinthians 7:4).

Take great pride in your relationships. Are you proud of your friends? Are your close confidants people you recommend so that others will listen to their advice? Perhaps you are concerned about someone you are dating—because you are not really proud of their disregard for authority and their disrespectful attitude. As a child of King Jesus do not settle for someone that only takes from you in a friendship. Be proud of your friends.

Good pride understands that humble circumstances are not something to be embarrassed about. Maybe you grew up with very little material possessions, but you were rich in the relational love of your family. Be grateful the Lord used your modest upbringing to bring you to Himself. Be not ashamed of who you are or where you came from, but be proud of God's providential path that has brought you to this point in life.

"Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position" (James 1:9).

Lastly, take pride in yourself that the Lord has you in the middle of His will. Bad pride compares itself to others in discontent, while good pride is content to be the person Christ has called them to be. It's when you relax in being who you are that you are able to take pride in how God has gifted you and created you for His glory. The Lord expects you to take pride in yourself and to take pride as a servant of Jesus. Good pride gives God the glory.

"Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else" (Ephesians 6:4).

How can I take pride in my work, my relationships and myself and give God the glory?

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. New King James Version (NKJV)

My Thoughts About This:

I like this today because it reminds me what a privilege it is to be serving God, to be used by God and have the opportunity to be a part of His Kingdom purposes in play in this world. My heart just cries out to God to help me to be excellent in all I do, to be disciplined in spirit, truth and heart and set forth a kingdom working that God would be proud of each day an excellence that draws people to God because they see Him. I heard a teaching once that said: We all are working for Jesus. I want to show up in my each day with excellence but I know I can't do it without Him, so if I follow my boss, I gain His wisdom, I hear His thoughts, I experience His heart passion, I can be excellent in Him. I guess that is my hearts desire to be excellent in all that He calls me to and to do what I do unto Him because I am being found in Him!

Verse Of The Day@biblegateway.com

"Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance." Titus 2:2 NIV

My Thoughts As I Listen To This Chapter Titus 2:

Teach what is in accord with sound doctrine… sound in faith, love endurance. Be reverent in how you live. Don't slander. Teach what is good. Teach how to be self controlled… Submissive… Be self controlled, set an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity so that those who oppose you have nothing bad to say about you. Show you can be fully trusted to make the teaching about God our savior attractive. Say no to ungodliness and worldy passion and live self controlled Godly lives in this present age. Jesus gave Himself to purify a people who are His very own and do what is good. Do not let anyone despise you, do what it right and be ready to do what is good. Show true humility towards all men…

History

History is the biography of the lives of great people. History shows people of courage. One person many times is a majority when you have courage to do the right thing. Today, make history and do something courageous, right and good and help someone else.

My Thoughts About This:

The greatest History we can leave is a living legacy that points to the greatest man Who ever walked this earth, our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. He was, is and always will be our history. His heavenly hindsight of history pays forward eternity, something no one can paint the canvas of this world with but Him. AWE-GOD!

Holy Spirit Inspired…. He speaks, I listen and obey… Thank you for teaching Me!

Galatians 1:12 (NLT) I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.

~This Generation's Cry ~
Life is full of many levels.

First you struggle trying to learn all the rules
Once you catch on and begin to understand
Only to find most people are broken and can't lend a hand!
You observe compromise from Elders
And Abuse from those called to Serve
They promised to cover and protect you, Yet they violate you and Pervert the Word.
Then you are left Deceived into thinking that, that is all you deserve.
You are searching for answers,
Crying out for help
but no one will listen.
You feel like you're screaming yet no one can hear
Day by day you replay the choices that you've made,
Only to find it was not because of your ways.
You didn't choose for life to be this way, born into bondage
and having to fight just to survive........
So what do you do Now?
Do you move forward or settle in and break down?
I want to make progress and gain greater ground,
But who will help me?
Who could show me how?
I don't want to feel this way any longer
I do what ever i can to drown it out
Someone! please help me put these things down.

My Thoughts About This:

Ouch… I could feel that pain! God does too! I feel it too, the pain of this generation, whose hearts are bent toward this world and the passion of God's heart to reach us, to renew us! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvF2eKzx0i8

God did not design us for pain, He created us for Himself and did everything possible to keep us, even to the point of sending His own Son to die for us to restore the fellowship with Him. He then left us with His Holy Spirit and incredible and powerful Word so we could be totally equipped in His love, wisdom and grace. Pain is a symptom of sin, ours and others. We hurt so much because in our culture we isolate ourselves from God, through the culturalistic way of independence, we only need God when things are really, really bad and we realize we can't fix them. We live religious lives, that have no depth of relationship with our AWE-GOD! We don't follow His Truth, we rationalize it, and diminish it down to a comfort level we can live with, therefore there is pain and hurt from us living comfortable in our sins. Why? Because God's Word was spoken to keep us, to protect us from our humanity and shape us in Kingdom ways, yet we change it to suit our humanity, we tolerate sin when we were designed to walk in the fullness of God's Truth.

Followship of Jesus is counter cultural in our day in age because we are steeped in self indulgent excess, all of this which brings stress and pain into our lives. The truth is relative and love is conditional, and the strife between these compromises is very painful. God did not create us for this kind of pain, this is what we choose, you can even see the warning He gave us in Isaiah 50, He said don't kindle your own fire and walk by the light of a man made fire or you will lay down in torment. Torment is not found in complete followship of Jesus, His Word, His Way. Why is it people feel that we can't have Truth with Love, that love has to tolerate people's sin? Toleration does not free people, God's Truth Does. Truth=Love!

If we pursue God, a personal relationship with God with our hearts undivided, we will find His peace that surpasses the pain of this world, His truth in its fullness that sets us free and shapes us in His character. In the excess and creature comfort that we strive for, in the roots that we set into this earth through things, titles and rights we will only find dissatisfaction, disappointment, dismay, disillusionment and death of dreams. Only in Christ, walking in the fullness of His Word, fulfilling the destiny of our heavenly design is their lasting peace, huge hope, indescribable joy. Followship is the subscription for this generation, Jesus is the right way, the right truth and the only life that will endure forever! Go full out for God and His Kingdom! Tolerance-NO! Truth-YES! Love-ALWAYS! http://thebridegroomscafe.com/smorg.htm
