Philippians 4:8

For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Developing My AWE-GOD With An Attitude Of Gratitude!

M.E.A.L…. Meet With God! Examine The Word! Apply It To My Life! List My Learn!

@brucefrank1 Challenged us to 7/30! 7 Days-30 Min. in the Bible! MEAL: Meet With God/Examine The Word/Apply It/ List What You Learned.

John Chapter One 7/30 Challenge Start In Verse 38

Examine:

35  Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,36  And he looked at Jesus as He walked along, and said, Look! There is the Lamb of God!37  The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Him

Apply: I love the way they recognized Jesus, they instantly new Who He was. I pray for that Favor of recognition in our world today.

He said to them: Come and See… we need to say that to others…. And also this:

VS 40 One of the two who heard what John said and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.41  He first sought out and found his own brother Simon and said to him, We have found (discovered) the Messiah!--which translated is the Christ (the Anointed One)

45 Philip sought and found Nathanael and told him, We have found (discovered) the One Moses in the Law and also the Prophets wrote about--Jesus from Nazareth, the [legal] son of Joseph!46  Nathanael answered him, [Nazareth!] Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip replied, Come and see!

Dealing With Prejudice By Joyce Meyer

Nathanael had a negative opinion of Nazareth because the prevailing sentiment of his day was that nothing good ever happened there. When he heard Jesus was from Nazareth, he was initially closed to the idea that Jesus was the true Messiah, simply because of where He came from. So often we are like Nathanael, we decide a person cannot be any good because of where he lives or where he comes from. We can be so biased and opinionated without even realizing it. We have prejudices that have been placed in us by others just because of the things they have said to us. That is why we have to carefully examine our hearts to see if they are truly open. What Jesus liked about Nathanael is that even though he had a strong opinion, he had an open heart. Let me encourage you to have an open heart towards everyone you meet. If Nathanael had been unwilling to open his heart to Jesus, he would have missed the greatest blessing of his life – a great relationship with the Lord. I believe God has blessings in store for you through relationships too, so keep your heart open.

Chapter Two John

They have no more wine!4  Jesus said to her, [Dear] woman, what is that to you and to Me? [What do we have in common? Leave it to Me.] My time (hour to act) has not yet come. 5  His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do it.

"They're just about out of wine." 4 Jesus said, "Is that any of our business, Mother—yours or mine? This isn't my time. Don't push me." 5 She went ahead anyway, telling the servants, "Whatever he tells you, do it."

Apply: It felt like to me that Jesus was not ready, that He said it was not His time yet, but His mother ignored what He said and told the servants to do what He said… I have always wondered if His mom pushed Him into His ministry and He allowed it to honor her and respect her… so sweet….

Ecclesiastes 3:1 TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:

VS 11 This, the first of His signs (miracles, wonderworks), Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory [by it He displayed His greatness and His power openly], and His disciples believed in Him [adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Him].

Apply: He showed He was flexible and laid down His rights to wait in honor of His mother, I love that about Jesus.

List:

Jesus had a Kingdom timing He was following

When the situation arose, He yielded His authority to honor His mother

Jesus had a power of recognition, a Favor that revealed Who He was to the disciples

Jesus did not judge Nathanael for his strong opinion, he looked deeper at his heart and saw a person willing to side step an opinion or a predudice to get to know someone. He praised that.

Jesus did not accentuate the negative in Nathanael, He praised the positive

Nathanael was willing to put down a strong opinion to get to know Jesus

Obedience is always doing what Jesus asks even if you don't understand, because it leads to a blessing miraculously so!

LEARN: Jesus I do have many prejudices put in me over the long age of my life, help me to sidestep them when they come up so I can live heart to heart with people. Help me to obey You, even when I don't understand so I can experience Your Power in my life. Help me to experience Your miraculous flow in everything I do in my life, the flow of Your Favor, Love, Authority and Power. Jesus!

I really want to be more like Nathanael John 2, even though he had a "strong" opinion, he opened his heart to Jesus.

4/18/12 Week 5 Day Three--- Selah…Peace

Selah Excerpts:

  • Your enemy has devised the perfect strategy of successfully jamming your mind with the disinformation of the world and busily depriving you of My communication of truth, discernment and peace.
  • These stealthy messages exchange My truth for white-lies and entice you to seize every opportunity and experience life to the fullest, without thought to anyone else but you!
  • Humanism is a hideous portrait of dysfunctional self-achievement, driven by malicious challenges that pit self made supermen against humankind.
  • Bride of Christ, following a rationalization is a dangerous choice for you! Be careful of taking a bunny trail that leads you to nowhere street because it will dead-end in trouble land! Let Me Lead You! I AM your Waymaker to internal peace and outer harmony.

Selah Thoughts:

  • Selfishness really does damn up the peace of God. Selfishness is a roadblock for relationships and a stumbling block for God Presence.
  • How foolish it is to think and boast that we are wise, when wisdom begins and ends with GOD
  • Foolishness is to point a finger in pride or judgment because there are always three fingers pointing back at you. You Lose!
  • The Peace of God is something you can count on as sure as His Presence is Omnipresent! AWE-GOD
  • No one can take away my peace from God. I give it away out of bad actions and reactions!

Selah Scriptures:

1 Corinthians 1: 19

For it is written, I will baffle and render useless and destroy the learning of the learned and the philosophy of the philosophers and the cleverness of the clever

1 Corinthians 1:30

But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].

Psalm 64:5

They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, "Who will see it?" 6 They plot injustice and say, "We have devised a perfect plan!" Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.

Selah Increase:

Lord increase the wisdom of God in me, so I can walk in a selfishness not encumbered by cultural values. Jesus I so want to be a person Who encourages in Kingdom exhortation, and never be someone whose motives are conniving or hiding evil snares. Increases in Me Your wisdom, Your discernment so I can walk in peace and be a peace maker.

Come Away My Beloved Frances J. Roberts Page 110 I Anticipate They Dependence Upon Me

(Rewritten by Kimberlymac- Taken to Regular English- Taken Out Thee- Thou- Shalt)

Oh My son, give me your heart, for out of it are the issues of life. For I say to you, My hand is upon you and I will keep you in all places. Yes, I am your God, I am your Father and I will care for you according to all that you need. Yes, I will be at your side, ready to help you whenever you call upon me. (Come Away My Beloved) I am not unmindful of any of your needs and my concern is for you. You do not have to carry your own load, for I will be happy to carry it and bear you up as well. You don't walk alone or meet any situation alone; I am with you and I will give you wisdom, and I will give you strength and My blessing will be upon you. Only keep your heart set on ME, your affections on things above; for I cannot bless you unless you ask and I cannot minister to you, unless you come to Me.

Do not wait to feel worthy, because no man is worthy of my blessing. My Grace bypasses all your shortcomings and I give to my children because they ask of Me and because I love them and I do not love one more than the other. I give most liberally to those who ask the most of me. For I love to have you depend on me. This is why the spirit within you cried Abba Father. As Your Father, I anticipate your dependence upon Me! You may outgrow your dependence on human parentage, but as My Child, you will never "outgrow" your spiritual sonship, nor will I ever cast you upon you own resources. When you yourself come into this position of father in human relationship, you will appreciate more fully my feelings toward you. You will know by your own human experience the love of a father and the desire to care for and provide, and you will know more fully my desire to love you and provide and care for you; and just how ready I am to help you, how ready I am to counsel you and give you My support.

Heavens resources are at your command and you need never to want as long as I AM your Shepherd. Don't think in your heart that since I know all about you, you don't need to tell Me. It is true that I know all, but you need to tell ME, so in the telling you experience the release of an open heart and the fellowship of a Friend. For as you open your heart to ME, I will come to you. As you speak to ME, I will speak to you. As you reveal yourself to Me, I will reveal myself to you. This is the law of life. There must be an action for a reaction. There must be a question to bring an answer. There must be an expression of love and confidence on the part of one person to arose a corresponding response in another person.

Never presume on My Presence. Never assume that knowing your need, I will automatically supply. Ask and it will be given. Call upon Me and I will answer you. Tell me that you love Me and I will make your heart to know in a very real way My love for you and my nearness, and you will never feel alone. Welcome Me in your heart, and the more you sense My Presence within you, the more you will feel at home no matter where you are. Forget anything else, but never forget this.

A 'real Christian' is an odd one anyway. They feel supreme love for ONE whom they have never seen, talk familiarly everyday to SOMEONE they cannot see, expects to go to heaven on the virtue of ANOTHER, empties themself in order to be full, admits they are wrong so they can be declared right, goes down in order to get up, is strongest when they are weakest, richest when they are poorest, and happiest when they feel the worst. They die so they can live, forsake in order to have, give away so they can keep, sees the invisible, hears the inaudible, and knows that which passes knowledge.

Let's:

Forget what is behind and press on…

Not grow weary in doing good…

Consider others better than ourselves…

Love our enemy…

Pray continually…

Humble ourselves…

Forgive as we've been forgiven…

Let your light shine before men…

Cast our cares upon Him…

Lay up treasures in Heaven…

Judge not, lest you be judged…

Seek so we will find…

Tomorrow is a new day….

But for today…

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

Psalm 119:16  I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.

Psalm 119:76 May Your faithful love comfort me as You promised Your servant.

Dear Bob and Kim,

I find the toughest part of this job are the many times I must say what people do not want to hear.  Recently, the mother of a child born with a heart defect asked me, "Why must my child suffer?"  And I can remember when one of my teenage grandkids wanted to know, "Why can't I just do what my friends do?  It's just too hard to be different."  One time a single mom asked me, "Why won't my children just do what I tell them?"  And the questions continue to come.

So what can I do but turn to MY pastor and ask him the tough question..."How do I answer these questions; what do I tell these people?"  He told me something I will never forget and I hope it feeds your spirit this morning.  He said, "God's school of life brings us closer to Him. Sometimes the lessons are more than we can handle. Sometimes the homework is more than we can comprehend."  He quoted a poem which speaks a hair-raising truth to me... "And the storm which Love appointed, was its choicest gift of all."

How can we ever learn to walk on water, if there are no storms in our lives.  When we walk on water, we are walking to the Lord.  He calls to us and then whenever we take our eyes off him and concentrate on the storm, we sink.  But He is there to hear us cry out, "Save me, help me, rescue me, Lord Jesus."  Then, smiling with LOVE, He reaches down and lifts us up again."

Don't ever forget His Word, Bob and Kim, and never forget the comfort He has promised.

Pastor Elliott

My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

Because He Can! In this culture of our generation, this generation that we were planted in by God for a time such as this, we have a real disrespect brewing for all things God Sovereign. God Can! Because He Can! No Doubt About It! He Is Sovereign. In the Bride of Christ we need to restore our AWE of His Sovereignty, Our Respect Of His Right To Have The Final Say, Our Trust In His Ways Because He Is The Only Way – The Only Truth – The Only Life! Our Sovereign God may have had a final say in your situation that you can't wrap your mind around, but wrap your spirit around the TRUTH that He also had an eternal final say. Look up! You have a great future and hope… a short time here… a long, long forever there. Which one will you focus on? The fact that GOD doesn't just hammer down His Sovereign Will on us without the accompaniment of His Infinite Love, should speak volumes to our trust levels of this AWE-GOD! His Sovereign Will Is Always Accompanied By His Infinite Love. So Maybe We Don't Have To Prove Anything To Anyone, We Just Have To Point To Jesus And Say: Cling Tightly To This Love – Dig Your Roots Deeply In His Kingdom Because Where There Is Lack Of Understanding, He Brings Comfort – There Is No Pain He Has Not Experienced First Hand – He Understands – He's Got This – It Is His Kingdom – We Are The Kingdom Of God – An Army Of Love!

Compliance

For the creative person, the word compliance does not set well and is not a favorite word. There is a time for compliance, when we get along with others we can accomplish much. Too may times we are unintentionally compliant and never get out of our comfort zone. Compliance causes us to realize we are not the big fish in the pond, I am just a fish in the pond, we need to go along and get along with others. Also a word that says without reflection and intentionality, it is not a good thing because we can get lost in the crowd and just be another number. I want to be a part of the team, go along with others with compliance, but I also want to be myself, and reach my potential by stepping out of the box. It is a good word, but don't overuse it.

My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

Compliance! Wow that was a tough one to not tune out because I don't like it… yet I got a lot out of what John said! I think for me the way I will use this word is to compartmentalize it. Personally-Spiritually I will exercise compliance to all of God's Ways and compliance is a good word for me in the light of followship, because I tend to be strong willed when God changes things up in my life as His purposes are in play for me. I need to be that compliant servant, sitting in the Potters Chair, responsive clay to the touch of His shaping. So compliance is good in that aspect for me. Compliance in my call to action in God's mission for me, is not a good thing, because my journey in God Adventure is always stretching me way past compliance, so it probably is not going to happen there. Compliance is one of those words that works well compartmentalized into do's and don'ts according to desired result! It is a perceptive word, one that you have to be careful and wise in its life application. You can't just sling it on and go with it, because it might head you in the wrong direction! AWE-GOD!

I see so many people having an attitude of COMPLIANCE just because they are fearful of other people thinking otherwise of them. But I realized this with my own experience that when you COMPLY with the will of God, God gives you the discernment as well as the confidence, with whom or when to COMPLY with.

Lesley Byrne Marcovich · Subscribe · Top Commenter · Writer/Biographer/Coach at Self Employed (Business)

Without COMPLAINCE the world would be mayhem. Without FREE WILL the world would be a lifeless. A great leader is someone who is able to facilitate a good balance between the two where his/her citizens can flourish. This is true for all leaders; parents, CEO's, spiritual leaders and so on.

Gilberto Mac-Knight · Top Commenter · Itatiba

Compliance, to me, shouldn't ever be a goal, but only a step climbing to the goal. To conform to the minimum requirements, gives me a sense of mediocrity. You must attain it, to get in the game, but to be one of the top performers, the word is EXCELL.

Have you all an EXCELLent day!

Agree Gilberto. COMPLIANCE is the clothing; EXCELL is your fashion statement.

http://wisdomhunters.com/ Boyd Bailey

"When Esau was forty years old, he married Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and also Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite. They were a source of grief to Isaac and Rebekah. Genesis 26:34-35

Sometimes a child becomes a source of grief because they choose to marry someone who does not meet their parent's approval. In fact, the more the mom and dad express their disapproval the more adamant the child becomes in dismissing his parent's wishes. When relational equity is overdrawn the opportunity to influence another vanishes for a season. This season of distress and disagreement can permanently scar a family.
So, someone has to be mature in the face of immaturity. Even when we are insulted and rejected by an impetuous young adult with our same last name, we are obligated by God's grace to rise above demanding our own way. Disowning (real or perceived) is not an option for a family full of love and forgiveness. Yes, rejection is painful—in the same way the Holy Spirit grieves over our unwise choices, so we grieve over our foolish child.
"See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done." Hebrews 12:16-17
Furthermore, here is a tender word of wisdom to adult children: honor your parents by asking their concerns over the person you love, whom you may desire to marry. Yes, you have the power to fill their hearts with joy by including them in your prayerful process, or you can drive a dagger into their hearts by rejecting their advice, just to spite them. Marriage is your decision under God and under the authority of your father and mother. Grief generated out of youthful foolishness is a relational plague to people bound by blood.
Lastly, look to your own heart and consider how you may have hurt your parents or wounded your son or daughter. Be intentional in building conversational bridges by seeking to understand and value their interests. Forgiveness is the fuel that reignites a family's love for one another. Humble yourself first and watch the grace of God work wonders!
"Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many." Hebrews 12:14-15
Prayer: How can I honor my parents in my decision-making process? How can I relationally invest in my adult child?

When relational equity is overdrawn the opportunity to influence another vanishes. #invest #relationally

I posted that tweet and still have a bit of an "OUCH regret" when it comes to this topic, which I failed in miserably with my youngest. I tried too hard to hold on to her and in the process of that, I hurt people, I hurt her "now husband" who got tangled up in my "control issues"! I lost valuable relational time with him that I can't get back. BUT God, He is amazing in how He restores the days that we foolishly squander through doubt-unbelief. God restored our relationship and I believe has healed it… but the consequence of missed memories that could have been made is still a regret for me at times, even though the heavenly hindsight of God's purposes at work in me, bring great joy!

Never Separated from God "I and My Father are one."

Blessings, Anne Graham Lotz AnGeL Ministries Website

John 10:30, NKJV

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matt. 27:46, NIV) The words came from the cracked lips and the crushed heart of God's Son as His tortured body and fevered mind were pushed to the outer limits of endurance. For the first time in eternity, the Father and Son were actually separated. They were separated by all of your sins and my sins, which came between Them.

Even when Jesus had been alone in a crowd, or alone on a mountainside, or alone on the lake He had never truly been alone! His Father had always been with Him. He and His Father were so close they were One. To be separated was a spiritual death that was worse than a living nightmare. It was hell!

No one on this side of hell will ever know the loneliness Jesus endured on the Cross-in your place and mine. When we claim the Lamb as our own sacrifice for sin, we will never be separated from God, because Jesus was.

My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

Help me to remember this Lord as I struggle through these lonely days, that Jesus endured the WORST Loneliness ever and He endured it for me, so I could have the power to fight against my loneliness, the power of HIS great love for me, the purpose of His Presence in me.
