Awe-GOD Gratefulness 2012! I am grateful! Jesus today I am so grateful for YOUR Strength. I do take it for granted, especially in this season of my life where I am living out a season of loneliness. I know I can't beat this loneliness, it overwhelms me, everyday. Yet, somehow I do, as I fully face YOU, You fill me with strength- perseverance in my situation, and YOUR strength directs me in my calling to YOU and gives me such JOY. I am so grateful for YOUR Strength, because I know, I know without a doubt, I can't make it through this season without it. Thank you Jesus! Matthew 14 Jesus went away to be by himself after John The Baptist was killed. The Crowds followed Jesus. As Jesus was trying to be by himself, he still had compassion on the crowds, healed them and had fed 5000 of them. He walked away from the time His relative was gruesomely killed, and he pauses on his personal problems and ministers to others. He pauses from his big crisis to focus on the needs of the people, this is our Jesus. We are the crowds, we are the people Who He takes times for, He is never too busy for us. It is not all about us, our agenda, what we are trying to accomplish or do, be open hearted to Jesus. Take time today to love on people, to engage with them and allow Jesus to engage with us. Proverbs 2:6

For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Life is no fun when we let our feelings run the show. Feelings change from day to day, hour to hour, even moment to moment. They often lie to us. In short, we cannot trust our feelings.

But we can choose, as Christ followers, to ignore false emotions and live by truth and wisdom. Let me give you some examples. Perhaps you have found yourself in a crowd of people and felt as though everyone was talking about you. That doesn't mean they were. Maybe you feel that nobody understands you, but that doesn't mean they don't. You may feel misunderstood, unappreciated or even mistreated, but that doesn't mean you are.

These are only feelings. We need to be mature, disciplined, Holy Spirit-controlled people, determined to walk in the Spirit. It takes a constant act of the will to choose to do things God's way rather than our way.

Even though we may feel occasionally bombarded by negative emotions, we cannot allow those feelings to control and spoil life. Instead, we can choose to follow the truth-godly wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Prayer Starter: God, my feelings often go against Your wisdom and try to deceive me, but I won't let them run my life. Guide me with Your truth so that I can stay connected to You, and not be run by my constantly changing emotions. Joyce Meyer

Yes Lord, this is a part of that "completely" that I am learning with YOU. Learning to have self control when it comes to following my feelings! I am learning not to impulsively run with the things I feel, to not let What If questions remain in my thinking and not to assume anything. Assumptions led by negative feelings have to go!

Numbers Chapter 20

Whining… And Why… And Why… And Why Lord…

Examine: 3 And the people contended with Moses, and said, Would that we had died when our brethren died [in the plague] before the Lord! 4 And why have you brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, that we should die here, we and our livestock?5 And why have you made us come up out of Egypt to bring us into this evil place? It is no place of grain or of figs or of vines or of pomegranates. And there is no water to drink.

Discontentment was all over them. Whiny Babies! Whining is the result of a fix focus on things in our situations that we are not content with. Whiny Baby! Ummmm yes, I have been there and done that! Whining is definitely a total lack of trust in God! I sure is a bunny trail that leads to nothing really good as it dead ends in despair! Whining is a stubborn will refusing to bend, not wanting to be shaped by circumstances that are out of our comfort control. Whining truly will not bring forth a winning attitude as it stirs up disrespect in our hearts. Disrespect is the side effect of whining, it saturates our soul with its poisonous doubt, impatience, anxiety, selfishness, pride and hopelessness. When you are whining, you revelry with disrespect in your soul, and are hanging out with insolence and all its siblings not related at all to God's holy character! Whining takes you by the hand of discontentment and leads you to the pit of disrespect and the window of your soul gets pretty muddied up!

Examine:

And the Lord said to Moses,8 Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother, and tell the rock before their eyes to give forth its water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink.9 So Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as He commanded him.10 And Moses and Aaron assembled the congregation before the rock and Moses said to them, Hear now, you rebels; must we bring you water out of this rock?11 And Moses lifted up his hand and with his rod he smote the rock twice. And the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.12 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Because you did not believe in (rely on, cling to) Me to sanctify Me in the eyes of the Israelites, you therefore shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. 13 These are the waters of Meribah [strife], where the Israelites contended with the Lord and He showed Himself holy among them.

Moses struck the rock in anger and it showed that he was trying to manipulate the authority he had over the people with human emotion. God was not happy with that, it took away from what He was trying to teach and show this rebellious bunch of weary travelers. How many times do I do that? Add my own personal drama to what God has asked me to do? Yikes!

Examine:

4 And they journeyed from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom, and the people became impatient (depressed, much discouraged), because [of the trials] of the way.5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses, Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? Joyce Meyer Said In Her Life Point: Along with other bad attitudes, the children of Israel lacked gratitude. They simply could not quit thinking about where they had come from – and where they were going – long enough to get where they were going! When things get tough we need to rehearse the good things the Lord has done. This kind of gratitude will "grow you" through any trial with faith and emerge you victorious! Joyce Meyer Life Point

I truly believe that gratitude develops our AWE of God and keeps disrespect out of our heart. In the Bride of Christ today gratitude is missing, celebrating what God has done is missing, we are too quickly on to the next adventure, seeing excitement instead of settling into gratitude and developing our AWE-GOD! I am really trying to do that this year, develop my AWE-GOD Gratitude, intentionally and with purpose!

Examine:

Then the Lord sent fiery (burning) serpents among the people; and they bit the people, and many Israelites died.7 And the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord, that He may take away the serpents from us. So Moses prayed for the people.8 And the Lord said to Moses, Make a fiery serpent [of bronze] and set it on a pole; and everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.9 And Moses made a serpent of bronze and put it on a pole, and if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of bronze [attentively, expectantly, with a steady and absorbing gaze], he lived.

John 3:14-15 And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert [on a pole], so must [so it is necessary that] the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross], 15 In order that everyone who believes in Him [who cleaves to Him, trusts Him, and relies on Him] may not perish, but have eternal life and [actually] live forever!

Joyce Meyer Said In Her Life Point Called: Look And Live to look at Moses response to the snake situation! He did not make his own play, He sought after God 1^st. Sometimes I get so caught in that trap of making my own plan and then asking God to bless it. Not a good thing. He did not try to reason out an answer, by overthinking it and falling into worry. Do you take things to God in prayer 1^st or do you worry 1^st? Overthinking things blows them out of proportion!

Joyce Meyer: The message is the same today: Look and Live! Look at Jesus and at what He has done, not at yourself and what you have done or can do. The answer to your problem, whatever it may be, is not worry, but trusting God and praying.

There is an eternal eye that watches our every move. Almighty God is not exhausted from examination, because He knows we need the accountability of His watchful eye. We do better when we know Deity is watching. This is why you train your children to be accountable to God, so when they move out and move on, they fear God, and they are motivated to love and obey Him. You can't follow your teenagers and young adult children around but the Lord does.
This is how the Holy Spirit is able to check a woman's conscience, or prick a man's pride. Every good or bad deed is in full view of your Heavenly Father for your benefit. He sees what a situation will bring, and seeks to guide you in the right direction. This is why prayer is imperative to gain God's perspective. An eternally examined life is a gateway to knowing God. Live your life ever mindful you are under your Master's microscope of concern, and you are freed by faith in Him.
"For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
God's accountability is not bondage, but freedom. You live within God's guidelines, but with tremendous freedom and creativity on the playing field of Providence. It's those who stray into sin who are snared by its seduction. There are no secrets with your Savior. Every action will be weighed and brought into judgment.
Therefore, come clean with Christ in confession, and claim a clear conscious. Do not let pride keep you from pronouncing your blind spots to friends who will lovingly yet boldly bring them to your attention. There is no such thing as an unexamined life, as the Lord is looking. Behave in a way that makes Him smile, as He gazes on your life with humble holiness. Indeed, the Lord looks on for your blessing and benefit.
"And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do." Hebrews 4:13, NASB

Great Wisdom! Thanks! We are a generation leaning into isolating ourselves from each other; sometimes I can see the enemy's hand in that because isolation is a roadblock to confession… culturally so! In a culture where we do what we want, when we want, there is little thoughts of this wisdom, that God see's all, that we will answer to all. Hmmmmmmmmmm Lord change us…. culturally so and create in us Kingdom hearts founded on this wisdom hunter's sharing of truth, lighten up the blind spots in our hearts with Your Glory Glow! Discontentment was all over them! Yikes! Whiny Babies! Whining is the result of a fixed focus on things in our situations that we are not content with. Whiny Baby! Ummmm Yes, I have been there and done that! So I can't even point my finger at our ancestors, those Whiny Babies in the desert, because three fingers are pointing right back at me! OUCH! Whining is never a good thing because basically, it is a total lack of trust in our Triune God. Triple OUCH!

Whining sure is a bunny trail from our discontentment that leads to nowhere really good; actually it usually dead ends in despair! Whining is a stubborn will refusing to bend, not wanting to be shaped by God through circumstances that are out of our comfort control, uncomfortable situations God is maneuvering by and through His Kingdom Purposes!

When God has the thermostat control of your comfort zone in His Sovereign Hand, and you think it is too hot for you to bear, do you whine? How do you respond? Whining truly will not bring forth a wholesome, winning attitude as it stirs up disrespect in our hearts. Disrespect is the side effect of whining, it saturates our soul with its poisonous doubt, impatience, anxiety, selfishness, pride and hopelessness. Quite a motley crew disrespect and whining associate with! When you are whining, you revelry with disrespect in your soul, and are hanging out with insolence and all its siblings not related at all to God's holy character!

Who or WHOM are you hanging with today? Are you all in with God and His characteristics, or are you skulking with whining and its nasty hangovers? Whining takes you by the hand of discontentment and leads you to the pit of mucky disrespect and the window of your soul gets pretty muddied up. Are you there? Do you have a dusty soul window?
