Whiny Baby!

Numbers 20:2-8

Now there was no water for the congregation, and they assembled together against Moses and Aaron.3  And the people contended with Moses, and said, Would that we had died when our brethren died [in the plague] before the Lord! 4  And why have you brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, that we should die here, we and our livestock?5  And why have you made us come up out of Egypt to bring us into this evil place? It is no place of grain or of figs or of vines or of pomegranates. And there is no water to drink.6  Then Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the Tent of Meeting and fell on their faces. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to them.7  And the Lord said to Moses,8  Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you and Aaron your brother, and tell the rock before their eyes to give forth its water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock; so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink.

My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

Discontentment was all over them! Yikes! Whiny Babies! Whining is the result of a fixed focus on things in our situations that we are not content with. Whiny Baby! Ummmm Yes, I have been there and done that! So I can't even point my finger at our ancestors, those Whiny Babies in the desert, because three fingers are pointing right back at me! OUCH! Whining is never a good thing because basically, it is a total lack of trust in our Triune God. Triple OUCH! 

Whining sure is a bunny trail from our discontentment that leads to nowhere really good; actually it usually dead ends in despair! Whining is a stubborn will refusing to bend, not wanting to be shaped by God through circumstances that are out of our comfort control, uncomfortable situations God is maneuvering by and through His Kingdom Purposes!

When God has the thermostat control of your comfort zone in His Sovereign Hand, and you think it is too hot for you to bear, do you whine? How do you respond?  Whining truly will not bring forth a wholesome, winning attitude as it stirs up disrespect in our hearts. Disrespect is the side effect of whining, it saturates our soul with its poisonous doubt, impatience, anxiety, selfishness, pride and hopelessness. Quite a motley crew disrespect and whining associate with!  When you are whining, you revelry with disrespect in your soul, and are hanging out with insolence and all its siblings not related at all to God's holy character!

Who or WHOM are you hanging with today? Are you all in with God and His characteristics, or are you skulking with whining and its nasty hangovers?  Whining takes you by the hand of discontentment and leads you to the pit of mucky disrespect and the window of your soul gets pretty muddied up.  Are you there? Do you have a dusty soul window?
